Travel Agents for guests booking DW

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

We are getting married at the RIU Palace in Cabo in April 2014.  I am looking for some recommendations or advice about travel agents to use to make booking the trip easier for the guests.  I am hoping for discounts and upgrades and would like to have a flight included in the price.  Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks so much! plane.gif

I would definitely contact Wright Travel Agency. Tammy is the owner and also runs this website. I am using Wendy Hicks with Wright Travel and she's been awesome helping my guest. I have had a few guest who insist on booking on their own, but for the guest who have used her, they all say such great things! She is VERY knowledgeable about Cancun and Destination Weddings! I recommend contacting them! Here's Wendy's email address if you'd like to contact her:

I just used a travel agent for the convenience of directing my guest to one place to book. Some booked on their own through expedia, etc but for me it was nice to be able to direct everyone that had questions or who don't travel often to book through Wendy. As for prices, a travel agent can get you discounts or perks offered through the resort if you do a room block. We did not do a room block so I am not sure what discounts they are. We had to block a minimum of 10 rooms and we had to pay out of pocket then and we just didn't have it and at the time I had NO clue how many guest we would have and I was worried we wouldn't meet the minimum room requirement.

Destination wedding travel is much more complicated then booking your vacation on an internet site.  For one thing, there are group amenities that may be available that you would not get via orbitz/expedia booking.

It is also important to use a travel agent that is experienced in destination weddings.

You might want to try one of the BDW Travel Agents.  We Specialize in Destination weddings.  You can contact us HERE!

I went through Apple Vacations, for us it was cheaper than going through Wright TA. I had another couple that flew out of Pheonix and Teresa was cheaper for them. However in the midwest Apple books charter flights and that was by far cheaper.

You do know that Wright Travel also books Apple?  We are an award winning agency with them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
