I'M ENGAGED !!!

I am so excited to start exploring this website! My boyfriend of 4.5 years proposed to me on December 26th night - I am still so excited and happy!

Although we do not have many details - we are hoping to have a wedding in February 2014 - In Mexico.

We are looking at the Cancun area - however have not decided on a resort. We are planning a trip to Cancun this February 2013.

Any brides have any advice on a resort in the Cancun area to have our wedding :)

We are hoping to have a budget for our guests around $1000 - $1300 per person.

Any advice on anything to do with a destination wedding would be so helpful!

Looking forward to getting to know all the brides and helping each other plan our dream wedding!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I am getting married at the Beach Palace in Cancun! 360 degree view of the lagoon and ocean on their sky terrace. Great location, food and reviews! Also 1500 resorts credit for all the guests. My guests paid $1705 for  round trip direct flight from Calgary to Cancun, transfers and 7 nights.

Hope this helps!

Congrats! And have fun with your planning!

Congratulations on your engagement! I'm getting married July 2014 and decided for a Cancun wedding. There are so many beautiful resorts that it was hard to decided. My advice is to get a Travel Agent. They will definitely make your decision on picking a resort a lot easier! Good luck and happy planning! :)

Congratulations!!

I got engaged in August 2012!! I am very excited as well. But a little indecisive about the right location. We are currently working with Destination Weddings and were thinking about doing it in Mexico. Two of my top choices are in Cancun, Beach Palace and Moon Palace. Moon Palace seems to be a bigger resort when compared to BP. I was hoping to hear comments from brides who have already been to this locations whether for their wedding or just resort hunting so we can get a better idea.

Good luck in your planning!!

:)

Hey,

It's not going too well. We are thinking about either booking directly with the resorts of our choice or requesting another wedding advisor. She is very nice but does not live up to my expectations. Unfortunately, the person who is helping us does not seem to fully read my e-mails as she asks questions that have already been stated. Also, last Saturday we requested some information and it has not yet been provided to us. Destination Weddings has a great variety of locations and resorts which will call your attention, yet they only suggest you working with some of them because of their relationships with the resort's wedding departments. Although this is a good thing, it just makes me wonder, why would they have them listed on their web-site if they do not have a solid relationship with them?

Anyhow, we are continuously looking at places and although MP and BP were our top choices, we came to realize that they do not live up to our expectations. We also looked at Azul Sensatori, however I heard that there is a lot of seaweed in the ocean and we were not going to be able to go in the water.

How's your planning going? Did you hire any vendor?

I have done some research and have talked to some companies however like you I feel as though they are not living up to my expectations. I think I may just speak with a TA from my town and have them help me with travel arrangements then once I choose my resort I will just independently communicate with the resort to sort out all details. Plus with all the info and advise we get from this forum I think I will be able to get everything done :) I just find that until I know the rates for 2014 and choose a resort, not much else can get started :) My FI and I are going to Mexico Feb 6-13 this year to look at some resorts and see what they have to offer :) Lets keep in touch !! • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
