July 5th, 2013 here! I guess I will be the first so far in this thread to take the plunge! LOL I hope some more July 2013 brides get on this thread. I'd like to talk about planning times and when the July brides are sending out invites, making their bags (if they are) etc. and discuss weather (and why we thought July was a good idea? LOL) COME ON JULY!!!!!

My wedding is taking place at azul beach on July 4! I can't wait! Although I know the time will fly by and it will be here before I know it :S almost the 6 month countdown already... How far is everyone into their planning? So far we have mailed out invites (with ssve the dates included to save on postage), had our first deposit date happen, bought my dress (only 1 payment to go!), chosen the flowers and booked and paid a deposit for the ceremony location, dj (dorremix! Probably the vendor I'm most excited for!) and the photographer (Sascha Gluck whose work is beautiful!) I thought I would be really into planning all the little details but as time goes by I'm really not!! Is anyone else having this issue?

It's never too soon to start planning your wedding. I have actually already ordered my custom invites and am awaiting delivery, I have my dress, my veil and my headpiece, my unity sand pillars, have booked our flights (we did a group air through our travel agent for 15 people...it was a good deal but it was a pain in the ass...but oh well- I'm flying with 15 other people lol), we have our hotel booked, our custom cake topper done and awaiting delivery, our DJ booked, our menu chosen, some decorations selected, and are in the beginning stages of planning our AHR.

I'm super excited- It felt like for a long time we were just researching and waiting. I didn't feel like we were planning a wedding. Now it's so chaotic, but its a fun chaos to see things fall into place.

@Huyla Suna: I agree with EVKnowsitall... it's never too early to start planning lol.

Time is flying. We never sent out save the dates... kinda missed that window lol. So we mailed out our DIY Passport invites mid november. Everything had to be done quickly because we reserved a group rate through a travel agent. So deposits are due January 31st. Crappy timing because everyone is caught up with the holidays. But it's so nice that my TA is dealing with the travel bookings. We will only have a group of around 30 which is perfect for us. The worst part of this whole process was trying to find the best rates. I went through a lot of travel agents before I settled on the one we are using. She is amazing! I found my dress end November and it should come in April. I CAN'T WAIT!!! woot.gif

Hopefully by some miracle my dress comes in early... like next week haha.

We found the bridesmaids dresses a few weeks after that and I just picked them up last friday! I bought them at David's bridal and they are so gorgeous. Of course I had to try one on haha.

Also got the bridesmaid's shoes. Booked the photographer, Pastor York and DJ Mannia. I am still tossed up on whether or not we should do a private dinner.

I just started OOT shopping and it is so fun! I know it's early especially considering we don't have a final number yet but I'll be away with my job for most of the Spring so I have to get a lot of this done prior. Are any of you ladies doing OOT bags? Hmmm.. I am thinking of doing a welcome book as well.

My next DIY project will be those personalized hangers. Hopefully it just looks harder than it actually is.

@EVKnowsitall: Where did you order your cake topper from? Now that you have your dress, do you try it on daily? I think that's how I'm going to be when mine comes in lol.

Why did you all pick July? I wanted September but it wasn't working for us. By the time we asked about available wedding dates at the Majestic (this is back in October), there was slim pickings. Some of our guests have complained about us having our destination wedding in the middle of a Canadian summer and not during the cold winter months. Oh well. I'm tired of hearing about it lol.

Just a few more days and we'll be able to say we're getting married THIS YEAR!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
