Hey Britney!  Great job on your website!  I'm getting married in Feb at the Jellyfish, but we're staying at the ME.  You got great prices!  I'm working with Patty from Wright Travel Agency and our prices are a bit higher.  When did you sign your contract?

 Thanks Tink!!.

Great idea about the time.. I wish I would have thought of that!

What type of bags did you purchases? I ended up finding a great deal on pink and orange beach bags from Old Navy. :o) I have purchased these items for my OOT bags: Kleenex, chapstick, playing cards, spanish for dummies, hand sanitizer, advil, first aid kits. (frisbe's and silicone watches for the kids) Plan to purchase: Peptobismal, donut floats, flavor poweder for water (Crystal Light or Propel), mints, gum.

Favors: what are you looking into getting?  I thought our OOT bags would be the favors :-/

 Thank you!! :o)

Well Im glad to know we got good prices.. I was a bit worried we didn't!  To my knowledge I never signed a contract. The only thing I signed was to authorize her to run my card for us to pay for our travels. We are staying 8 nights in the Colonial Suite, transfers to and from the hotel/airport, and flights for just a few dollars over 3k.

I know exactly which bags you are talking about because I work at Old Navy! Do they have a flower petal design in white on them? The welcome bags I bought look like small white gift bags that have Welcome to Our Wedding printed on them with a cream and black flower design on them. I don't mind the colors because they're very neutral and so I thought to just put some purple and lavender gift paper to add my colors to it. I found them on OrientalTrading.com and literally paid $33 dollars shipping included for 70 of them. They're 6.25 per dozen so they literally cost me about 52 cents each! I found a coupon for 3.99 shipping also. You should visit the website and check them out. The item number for them is IN-3/3808.

I found my favors at Littlethingsfavors.com. They're little zebra print compact mirrors that come pre packaged in clear boxes with a tag that reads Thank you. I looked all over and compared the prices and while other websites have them for almost 1.99-3.50 each, this website sells them for $1.00 each if you buy more than 18 (which I most likely will) They offer customized tags so you can replace the thank you one for an additional .35 cents each. Ill also look around for an online coupon since they always have and apply it to that. I didn't want to get anything beachy or star fishy because I don't want to over do the whole tropical wedding theme, and thought women are usually the ones who go for the favors. The mirrors will be practical, stylish, and will be used more than once. If I order about 50 of them my total will be $61.00 shipping included. The item number for them is LFC-5941 if you want to take a look at them. I thought of just having the welcome bags as favors but I really wanted them to sit down at the reception and have a little something to take back to their rooms after the party.

My goal is to buy everything I need with a coupon, or discounted. So far I was able to use $99 worth of coupons on my save the dates, and wedding invites from weddingpaperdivas.com, I got my table number frames at Marshalls for $5 clearance when originally they were $20 each, I found the welcome bags at the cheapest price online (they're literally about 3.00 EACH on other sites) and I found the favors at the cheapest price as well :)

My next purchase will be the Buri fans that i'll place on the chairs for the guests to fan themselves with. I found them the cheapest at OrientalTrading.com. You can just type in Natural Fans and they'll pop up. Other sites have them for about .99-1.50 each, I found them here for .88 cents! They sell out fast, but they always restock in case you check and they don't pop up. A lot of people also buy the buri fans to double as favors as well.

Sorry for such the long post but I'm so excited about my finds! woot.gif

Website-www.weddingwire.com/sheenandjason

As far as planning goes, I also ordered luggage tags from idcardgroup and ordered business cards to fit inside the luggage tag from vistaprint. The cards have our monogram on the back and on the front it says name/address/phone/email.  I can post pictures of this tomorrow if people are interested! I will be sending these out along with a brochure/postcard (haven't decided which yet) closer to the wedding date

For the OOT bags, I will be ordering from BAGGU.com

I was able to get wholesale price of 4.5/bag if I buy more than 50. They had the exact colors I wanted and the name of the colors was the same as the paper we used for the invites-peacock & papaya-so I feel like it's meant to be!

Hello ladies! Well I am so excited and relieved that I found this blog and I am able to share my ideas and confusions with people who are on the same boat as me. I am also getting married at the Magestic Elegance on July 2013. I have to admit I'm a bit nervous about this destination wedding planning..because I feel a little lost and everything is completely out of my control when it comes to setting up and all. So here are my planning ideas... Ceremony: symbolic ceremony at the resorts gazebo at 530 pm. Reception: magestic elegance ballroom ( had to go with it because of the air conditioning!!) Colors: coral & teal Save he dates: we ordered magnet save the dates which were sent out 2 days ago and most guests received them already! Invitations: planning to send them out in a few months with hopes that everyone will start booking their trips right away. Dj: sill haven't booked anything..but I think I might go for dj Mannia, I've heard great things about him!! Photographer: still haven't booked( not sure who to go with) I feel so behind with everything compared to you guys!! A bit overwhelmed I must admit☺

Congrats!!!! to you and your upcoming wedding. I'm also having my wedding at the Majestic Elegance Resort on May 25th, 2013. My ceremony will be at the Gazebo and reception at the Wet Bar. Can't wait so excited and nervous at the same time. Still need to decide on a few more things like invitations and which DJ we will be using. OMG! I just realize some other stuff as well LOL! Didn't think that this was going to be a piece of cake but going well so far being that we're using a wedding coordinator from NYC and Liberty Travel. Best wishes to you and your future.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
