Hey ladies, I just can't bring myself to pay $100+ for a veil, so I'm going to try to make my own. My goal is a single tiered, elbow/waist length veil with a beaded edge like the one I tried on with my dress. 700 So, I've been to FabricLand and bought 1 yard of tulle for $5, I got a plastic comb at Ardene as part of their 5 for $10 promotion, and I already have beads, rhinestones, and fabric glue at home. Now I'm trying to figure out what type of beading to do around the edge, what do you guys think, here are a few options. 337 I chose to glue the beads because I tried sewing them on and it looked horrible! I'll post some more pictures as I go.

I agree - I would mix and match the beads and crystals. Here's a pic from the detailing on my veil. It's pretty simple, but it has a lot of sparkle to it. Good luck!!

I am 100% for trying to DIY your veil...I think the scattered beads will look awesome and catch the sun beautifully!

I don't know if I'm sold on the idea of a veil for myself yet (or DIYing it) so I bookmarked this Etsy seller who has some reasonably priced veils, thought I'd pass it along incase anyone else was looking for a veil for less than bridal house pricing.

Yeah, I totally chickened out of the DIY. I have 3 yards of tulle in my closet and a comb, but I've heard it's really hard to cut, and overall hard to work with. Not sure I believe that..but I still wasn't going to shell out a fortune for a bunch of tulle!

I found some really inexpensive ones on eBay - Venus_Veils is the seller. My veil is GORGEOUS, and a cathedral with beading shown above for $37 (free shipping too!). It was a total bargain.

I bought my veil from this seller and it is PERFECT! She is a great seller to purchase from and work with and the quality is great. I wasn't sure about DIYing my own veil but was sure I didn't want to spend even close to $100 or more on one so I went with Etsy and I am so glad I did!

Great - thanks for sharing that, I'm definitely leaning towards buying one and then deciding day of if I'll actually wear it!

My grandmother made my veil. I think the total cost was $8. We picked out the tulle and had to buy an $3 metal comb at the craft store. She actually had a pattern for veil, but I cant imagine it would be expensive to purchase one. There were several patterns for veils at Jo Anns fabrics. I didnt want to pay a lot for a veil in case I decided not to wear it either, so this worked out perfectly and it had a little sentimental value because my grandmother made it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
