My name is Ashley and I have been engaged for a couple of months now and we have just booked to go to the Moon Palace resort in Cancun October 2013 to get married!!

Just having to decide if we're going to organise the wedding through our travel agent here in Scotland or directly with the hotel team.

Looking forward to finding out lots of info on here! x

Hi, We have also just booked up moon palace for October 2013 through Thomas cook. Still waiting for our wedding pack to come through ( been a month) We have requested our dates, Can't wait to hear from them, I have read lots of reviews saying communication with the wedding coordinators is tricky so if you hear anything, it would be great if you could let me know I have been told that when we arrive at the hotel we will have a meeting the next day with the wedding coordinator to arrange everything for the wedding day but was hoping to arrange the actual venue for the ceremony a lot sooner than that!!

Hi there, my name is sam

me and my partner have just booked our wedding and moon palace for october 2013, we have confirmation of our date, we are waiting for information to come through from our travel co- ordinator who i booked it through.

we booked last thursday and have our date. however we have been told we will meet our wedding co ordinator when we arrive we are arriving 6 days before the wedding. however i dont really no where to go next

i.e do they supply photogpher , make up artist or do we have to organise this seperatly, ( as i know they have ones that work through them). and thinking about colour schemes and where the wedding will be, does this getdone before we go so we can think about bridesmaid dresses etc.

i am hoping the pack i get may talk through all this?

hope your planning goes well, if any of you hear any thing i would be greatful to pass it on x

Hey ladies! Didn't realise there was replies on this till now! We booked through Thomas Cook too, still no word on our wedding date being confirmed as our contact in TC still hasn't heard anything back from Moon Palace! We haven't even been told anything about a wedding pack .... Will have to mention this at our next meeting at Thomas Cook. We have requested 11 October so fingers crossed we get that date although I'm not too fussed about what date we get married it just makes sense as we arrive on the 7th which is a Monday so that means we'll have the 2nd week to relax etc! Have any of you guys been told about the resort credit? We have been told by TC that we will definitely get it but was just wondering if you guys had been told the same thing? It's great that we're all going to same hotel at same time will be good to hear how your planning goes, hopefully it will all run smoothly!!! xx

Hey Ladies,

We arrive at the Moon Palace on 2nd October and we havent had our wedding date confirmed by Thomas Cook.  I emailed them yesterday and have just received a reply stating that they will be chasing up the hotel tomorrow but wont be able to find out our time until we get to the resort - how rude lol !!!  We have requested either the 8th or 9th so fingers crossed, i want the 2nd week to be relaxing and hoping to visit Xcaret again as it was a fantastic day out..

I think the wedding packs are sent as soon as the hotel confirms the date which is usually 6 - 8 weeks after booking.

I asked specifically about the room credits and have been told we will get the $2500 but if you have a look at the palace resorts site it states that these are now subject to an 11% sales tax (bit like VAT i guess) so whatever you purchase; you will be charged on top but I guess this isnt to much of a problem as you still get a good deal with trips etc.

Sam who did you book through to get a date sooooo quickly???

Its so exciting knowing that there will be others there at the same time as us, we can definately help each other out ( i know i could use it lol) xx

Love

Pip xx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
