Newbie in trouble

Hi.  I have joined after stalking this site multiple times.  I must say there are some really creative people out there.  I have saved many to my favs.  I have a dilema and need help.

Ok here's the issue. I am getting married in Antigua in July 2012. I am very picky about my hair and not sure how to find a fantastic haridresser as well as make up artist and photographer.  The photog I tried contacting Vanessa Hall will be out of the country during that time.  Then  I found a makeup artist but she moved to Atlanta, GA so now she's out.  Please, please help me!  Has anyone or is anyone getting married there.  If it makes a difference I will be getting married at the St. James Club.  I am feeling very overwhelmed with how much I need to do.

Welcome!  Did you ask the unavailable people if by chance they could recommend someone to you.  Usually they network and know other photographers/hairstylists/makeup artists that are reputable they they would recommend to you.

Yes,not  believe it or not I did and only the photographer could recommend other photographers.  I did look into some of them and I was really enthused with what I seen with the exception of one photographer.  I later found out after this post that the hotel is contracted with one photographer.  He is the one I was really not impressed with.  And as for the makeup artist she was not aware of anyone else to recommend. I did resolve this issue. I am booking my hairdresser who has been doing my hair for at least 10 years and she has a photography business as well so it's a 2 for one deal.Yeah. MY FI wasn't  thrilled by the deal but she's really working with me and I know she'll do an amazing job.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
