I see that there are so many of us May 2013 brides!  I wanted to start our own blog so we can help each other with progress, share ideas, and help answer each other questions!!  Maybe we can even trade things if we are close to each others destination!!

Hi...May 4, 2013...Hard Rock, Punta Cana...Can't wait to share ideas...Just finishing up my STD's and will post as soon as they are done. Bride81...I am getting married on a Saturday...I plan on hosting a Welcome Dinner on the Thursday before so it would be nice to have everyone there by then. I will post a schedule of events on my website and let them know when FI and I are arriving and then guests can choose if they want to be there for all the events. As long as everyone is there by Saturday, I will be happy.

would you mind sharing your schedule with me?  I definitely want to do a welcome dinner, and I want to arrange a booze cruise/ snorkeling trip so people can meet.  Hopefully on that Thursday.  Are you inviting everyone to the welcome dinner?  And, are you doing a rehearsal dinner?

I really haven't given this much thought and maybe it's because I have a relatively small group.  As of now my room block is setup for a check-in on 5/14 and checkout 5/20. I know that many of my guest will use this time for personal vacations, and some will probably stay else where for the beginning or the end, but I am requesting that everyone stay at the AI between 5/16 and 5/19.

I am arriving the Saturday before and I know most of my immediate family is coming on Wednesday. The tentative plan is welcome cocktails/apps for everyone on Thursday so that everyone can meet. I will have a rehearsal dinner Friday night for bridal party immediate family. Saturday wedding and then maybe a farewell brunch on Sunday .

This is great, thanks bride81 for starting it!!  I'm still trying to decide on which resort, but am leaning towards Dreams Riviera Cancun (I'm trying to read the entire thread before making that decision, but it's like 850+ pages long ... ).  Maybe I should just bite the bullet and pick it ... anyone else as indecisive as I am???   confused.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
