Vintage Destination Wedding Inspiration (With Pictures!)

Recommended Posts

Are there any vintage, either old style or modern vintage, brides out there? I'm thinking along the lines of a Ruffled or a Style Me Pretty kind of style.

I'm finding it hard to mix the destination wedding and vintage wedding concepts together. It seems like a lot of people want to do the whole "islandy" feel and that's not really the direction I want to go. I'd love to do an island vintage feel.

I'd love to see any pictures you have or websites you've found on this look! Thanks in advance!

The ruffles are in my dress...

Mason jars...anything to do with them screams vintage & rustic.

I am doing a beach rustic AHR, so I will be raiding my families basements for them!

Last but not least... My DIY redneck wine/champagne glasses.386881_2602805998998_1520291944_32761658_158846497_n.jpg

I am hauling my centerpieces down to Mexico...vases, starfishes, and candles.

All of my items were ordered online. I noticed they came from Mexico, China or The Philippines. Everything was packaged so well and nothing broke when it arrived to me. So I'm going to stick the entire box into my luggage like this...

I'm sure you could fit a case of mason jars in a luggage and still have room for more. Also, take advantage of your guests...they can help you haul some things down for you as well. The KEY is you just have to ask ;)

I hope this helps...

I am going for the whole vintage look at my at home reception with mason jars, burlap, mercury glass and corks.  But as for taking things down with me I am bringing burlap table runners to mexico with lace edges, all kinds of mercury glass votives that I DIYed and all of my flowers are blush and white and cream colored.

I too am working on putting together a vintage glam beach wedding....

Somethings I'm doing...

My Bridesmaids will carry parasols instead of flowers.  they will have mango colored ones and I will have a fuschia one (for pics only).  Like this:

I think my dress has a vintage feel (the same dress was actually featured in a style me pretty vintage glam styled shoot :))...I am going with a birdcage veil and a feather hairpiece.  this is my dress:

I am doing paper straws with flags to be used in the welcome drinks:  Like these but in my colors:

Although I would love to have mason jars to serve drings from, it's just not feasible when having a reception in Punta Cana, DR.. But I'm going to try and bring a few to make centerpieces like these:

I will have a puzzle piece guest book (like this one:)...I feel like it has a vintage vibe.

I am going to make a Flag banner for our sweet table like this one:

I will do vintage framed table numbers....  The numbers will be made with swarovski crystals. - A combo of these:

I am planning on doing Rock Candy escort cards:

I bought these vintage forks for when we cut the cake:

I am planning on designing our Menu's similar to these:

I'm working on a few more ideas...but this is a start.

I'd love to hear what ideas you or other have :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
