Hiya Jennaba3!

My wedding is May 11, 2012 and I still have a lot to do.  I'm not sure if you've already done it, but a guest list would be the first thing to do and then save the dates...and at the same time try to sort our a colour scheme ;-)  When I made our guest list I went through it and tried to guess who would come and who wouldn't.  I was close in the guesstimate although there are still many people on the fence (waiting for a deal) even though our booking deadline has passed.

Anyway to get back on track you might as well go dress shopping now.  I actually purchased my dress BEFORE we put our deposit in with the resort, lol.  Many stores will hold it for you until the wedding and in my case I'll do my alterations 6 weeks before the wedding.  Same goes for the BM's dresses.

As for the suits now would be a good time as many summer items are on sale.  However we've decided to wait until March 2012 when the new spring/summer collections come in.  Men are pretty easy to buy for so I'm not too worried about this.

Everything else like Favours, OOT's bags, gifts, etc you can get whenever, but I would recommend doing so once you know how many people are coming.  In my case we haven't purchased anything yet.  I'll probably start Nov - Jan.  We probably STILL won't know the final number, but I'm not too worried as a BDW bride recommended to purchase items in quantities of 50...then sell the extras online here so you don't lose any money.

Hope this helps!  Happy planning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
