Dreams Palm Beach Brides 2012 - w/pics

Recommended Posts

For all of you Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana Brides! Post your date and thoughts/ideas/issues.....

Destination Weddings are NOT EASY. At least the beginning stages.

I have reserved a date and time - unofficial still until my credit card gets charged.

Now looking at reserving the flight/hotel from Toronto for a minimum of 30 people.

I just came back from visiting the resort and decided that it is where I want my wedding.

Now I just have to deal with the uncertainty of it all - im a little stressed. At least it makes you feel better when there are other people out there experiencing the same feelings.

So, I just recently visited dreams palm beach. I was there the second week of April. I wanted to make sure that I made the right decision in choosing where to get married. After spending the week there, I decided to go ahead and make plans.

Before I go on, here are some photos of a beach wedding. At first I wanted the Gazebo, but this made me change my mind;

The place is very well run and organized. The only thing I won't give a 10 out of 10 are the rooms. They are very nicely decorated, but the hot and humid air is starting to have its effects. Minor things like peeling paint, little moldy spots in the tiling etc. Nothing major - these things are expected with the weather. One piece of advice - If you are not happy with something, make sure you tell someone - they will fix it and help you out with anything you are concerned with. Customer service is awesome.   I got a chance to meet with one of the wedding coordinators : Awilda. She was so sweet.    Beach The beach is perfect for the ceremony but it gets too windy(in my opinion) for the reception. The pool island is kinda cool. It is sheltered from the wind because it is protected by some of the buildings.   Gazebo The Gazebo is beautiful. Just as it appears in pictures.   I have learned to be patient while planning for this wedding.    If you have any questions, ask.....

Mandys - for some reason I can't view your pictures. Do you mind emailing them to me? Sarah.e.paterson@gmail.com

For the pool reception location was it on the little pool island like they show in the brocure? I totally want to have our reception on that island.

I wish I could get free upgrades for our flights! But everyone is flying in from different places so we're all booking our flights seperate.

Hey ladies, I am planning my wedding for DPB also, hopefully May 19th, 2012....still waiting to get a definite response from the resort.  I would like to have a poolside reception, not sure about the ceremony, I know you can have it on the beach but is the gazebo the only other option for the ceremony?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
