December 2011 Brides

Recommended Posts

Any December 2011 brides out there?  I have been engaged since August 2010, and the wedding just seems so far away... but since I am the world's biggest procrastinator, I guess it is good I have a very long engagement.  Anyway, to kick my butt into gear, I wanted to see how the other Dec 2011 brides are doing and how far along they are in the planning process...

My details so far.... Moon Dance Cliffs (Negril): Dec 10, 2011.  I have booked one of the associates from Sungold as a photographer.

I have no ideas about anything else.  I am amazed at the creativity of the brides on this forum.... so keep the pictures and ideas coming!

Happy Planning!

Hi Jacki!

I'm just in the process of planning my December 2011 wedding too! How is your planning going so far? I've done VERY little. I'm a teacher and I'm waiting for the school year calendar to come out before I book. It's a waiting game! I am looking at Mexico or DR.

Hi to all you DEC 2011 brides!

I am also just in the beginning stage of my wedding planing... I have not yet decided on my wedding location -- it is between Jamaica and Dominican.  My family really wants it to be a Jamaica.  I have 2 little girls and need to find the best all-inclusive hotel that will also take kids and maybe has a kid program....

Have any of you done lot's of homework on hotels in Jamaica - what are your suggestions... I am feeling so overwhelmed...

Hi Jacki!

I completely understand the "it feels like forever" comment. My fiance and I got engaged last March, but Dec is going to come FAST! We are printing the Save the Date's now and I "accidently" found my dress last weekend :-)! Otherwise, I have no clue where to start. I think I have 10 books somewhere but am looking forward to some advice on BDW.

Hopefully we can help each other!

Linds,

I "accidently" found my dress last weekend as well!  We mailed out our STDs this weekend.  We already have 30 people booked (close friends/family), and I am hoping with the STD we get the last 30 or so booked.  We gambled and booked the entire resort (it only holds 66 people), and I just hope that the gamble was worth it and we get all the rooms filled.  I feel like not knowing a headcount holds up the rest of the planning, because it affects my budget so much.

Other then the STD and buying the dress, I  just waste a lot of time internet surfing.  No other real decisions made yet.  We are doing a site visit in early March, so I am hoping once I see the place I will be inspired and have some creative genius.  Ha!

Happy planning everyone!

Too funny, we have ALOT in common.

I just realized that I posted in the Jamaica forum and am getting married in the Dominican but what ev. I need all the help I can get! :-) I completely here you on the internet surfing. I wish I was more organized in my planning. We are also hoping to do a site visit in March thinking that it would be nice to at least meet the pple/planner at the resort.

Are you doing any excursions for your party? I am trying to think about "to-do's" once we arrive.

It sounds like you have a big group, SO FUN! We are hoping for 30-50 pple but it is so difficult to "guess" who will and won't make it.

So nice to here from someone in the same boat!

I have never been to DR... I have heard it is amazing.  Our thoughts are as follows for excursions...  People arrive Thursday, we have some sort of welcome cocktail reception, but no real dinner or anything since people will be coming as differant times.  I know a lot of my friends will want to hit the bars/clubs on Thursday night as well, so I didnt want to plan anything too structered for them.  For Friday, I was debating organizing a zip line tour... I did it in Costa Rica a few years back and it was a lot of fun.  Friday night we would do the rehearsal dinner, and then Saturday wedding at 4:30 pm, and a farewell brunch on Sunday.   I dont want to take up too much of people's vacation time, so I figured one excursion was enough... I am hoping during my site visit I can gather a bunch of information on other things to do, and then provide that info to people either before we leave or in the OTT bags.  That way people can plan what they like.  I have never been to Negril, so I am just hoping I learn a lot this March to help make everything easier!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
