Hello all......my fiance are getting married @ Dreams PV in Nov 2010. We just returned from Dreams last month after a great 2 weeks stay there! We are working with our WC Rebeca, and she seems to be quite organized. I do have a question if anybody can help. We will prob have around 40 ppl at the wedding and all will be staying at Dreams. We will use the "Ultimate" wedding package for $2700. This includes a nice dinner for 20 ppl. BUT.....if we have more than 20 ppl.....we need to pay an additional $55/person. How does this make any sense? So.....if we book extra rooms at the hotel....the hotel penalizes us and charges us extra $55/person for dinner? One would think that if we had more people staying at the hotel.....we would get a better deal, not a worse deal. Please people.....any and all thoughts would be great. Maybe I am missing something here. Also, any other tips would be great!! We plan on getting married at the gazebo and the dinner reception at the small pool area near the gazebo.

Thanks all!

J&J

hey J&J I just answered your PM but I'll respond here also. They charge you for the private dinner set up just like other all inclusive hotels would for the staff and the set up mostly - then you have a private waitstaff also. If they do not stay at Dreams you pay more than the $55 per head for the outside person fee.

Hey J, just wanted to let you know that Rebeca quoted me $35 per person for going over the limit so you might want to try to get that rate!

It doesn't make sense to us either that you have to pay extra but we've just decided to suck it up and not worry about it!

Yeah, I totally know what you mean about the extra money, but just think, if you had it at home you would probably be paying a hell of a lot more. From what I understand, the 55/head is basically for the set up and take down for the event. I am in the same boat as you. We will get the Ultimate pkg but we still have about 42 ppl. Good luck

what day in november? we're booked for friday, november 26.

we're going to have our ceremony in front of oceana, and do the reception at las palmas (the one with the pool). you may want to review with rebeca the pricing per extra person. joy (my fiance) has the numbers for how much per extra person...but i don't remember the pricing being that high for each extra person.

Hi Ladies,

I know it's been mentioned, but you should be paying $35 for an extra person if it's a platted meal. It starts at $55 per extra person for a buffet.

I completely agree with the idea that paying all that extra money at an all inclusive is crazy. Friends of mine got married in the Mayan with a stunning wedding set up and private dinner, flowers, cake, champagne reception and more for 30+ people for $1600.

Hi- we are doing the ultimate wedding package too.

I was quoted $55 pp for the buffet (mix grill) dinner and that price includes the cocktail hour and cake.

I kind of laugh when people tell me how much money we will be saving by having a destination wedding, but in the end I am not sure we will be saving to much. =)

Is the $55 for the buffet just for people over the 20-person limit? (Sorry if this is a dumb question!)

Also, has anyone else been told there is a minimum amount of 60people to do the buffet? That's what Rebeca told me.... aaand that would be friggin expensive!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
