Hello All,

I just wanted to start a thread for the BDW Brides in the Metro area, I looked and couldn't find one. We can share info on local events or other things that may be helpful to us in our area. Is anyone planning to go to the "Running of the Brides" event in Rockville, MD on April 3rd, I am going to just scope things out and I have been in contact with another BDW Bride and we are planning to meet there.

It went well! Neither one of us found what we were looking for, but we had fun! We did NOT go early, it was raining all morning. We got there around 12 and there were soooo many dresses left. Racks and Racks of dresses and about 20 brides left from the early morning rush.
The Security guard said there were soo many people that they started leaving, because all the racks were empty from the large groups coming in and grabbing the dresses.
So, by 12 all the dresses were back on the rack and the crowds were gone!

Hi Ladies,

I also went to the running of the brides with no luck. I got there right before they open the doors, but by the time I got upstairs there were no dresses left on the racks. I also have to say that it showed me how mean brides and their families can be because these women had tons of dresses and wouldn't give any of them up even when they were not their size or the styles they were looking for. I did find one dress that I liked but it was pretty dirty with grease stains on the front and there was no guarantee that the stains could be removed and the alterations I needed couldn't be made either. So although I did ended up having a decent time, I was pretty disappointed that I didn't come away with a dress.

Enough with my whining!! I'm just excited to get to know my fellow DC area brides =)

I was waiting for some ladies to finally respond, lol! Yes running of the brides was different from what i expected but we just wanted to look and check it out anyway. I picked out a dress at demetrio's bridal salon inside macy's out tyson's corner , i'm going to go to the running of the brides at mazza gallerie but if i don't find anything i will go back to demetrio's. If you guys want to arrange something for that event on 7/31 we can. I have not been to a bridal show before but i get info and invites to them often if anyone want to attend or arrange anything else i guess we can come here and post or pm each other.

Happy planning ladies!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
