CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow Canadian brides! I thought our own post would be a good start for us in finding some great deals on OOT bag contents. I am tired of being jealous of all the great shops our fellow brides south of the border get, like Target and the the Dollar Tree. Let's share with our own great shops from Coast to Coast!

I was recently at the big Dollar store on Douglas St in Victoria and picked up $1 crossword and sudoku books, plus I noticed they also had the $1 first aid kits and some other great stuff in the pharmacy aisle.

I'm currently looking for Spanish for Dummies, playing cards, bubble bath or bath salts, and individual packets of alka-slezer immodium or pepto. If anyone has any ideas on where to get this stuff I'd be greatly appreciative.

Also, I have yet to buy my actual bags...I've been looking on some American based websites and found some great tote bags, but with the exchange rate, etc the cost is slowly creeping up and I was hoping to spend only around $5 per bag.

Thanks in advance and I look forward to sharing!

I found most of my stuff at the Dollar Giant store you mentioned and Dollarama. I almost got my tote bags at Micheal's, but found something for quite a bit less at a local discount store. I know quite a few Canadian's have had luck getting stuff shipped from Oriental Trading. I mostly just hunted at all the local dollar stores to find stuff.

Good luck!

Jennifer

Ebay is a godsend, that is where I got my Spanish for Dummies pocketbooks (for $0.65 ea.)

Also, Walmart has some great stuff, cheap cups (to put "stick on" transfers on, as several of the DIY DBs have done). Michaels is a MUST-- I bought my sand pail "OOT Bags" there for $0.50 ea. there in the summer. And they have a really great $1 aisle at one of ours now.

I think I need Ebay for Dummies...I can't seem to find them in bulk on eBay...I need about 40. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction? Thanks!!

I also have a spanish for dummies book.

I found it online at single phrases, but I put it into a Microsoft Word format, so that I could remove their logos, cover page, and I added our own sayings, and our monogram.

If you want a copy PM and I will gladly send it to you. It is a print yourself booklet :)

No worries, ebay can be very tricky!

Try the words "lot pocket Spanish book." I had a little trouble to begin with also, but another one of our fine DBs on here helped me out. There are few sellers that won't ship to Canada, but maybe trying ebay.ca would prove easier...

Good luck! Let me know if you are still having trouble, and I can do a little digging for you!

definetly dollarama and michaels

i got my oot bags at dollarama for a buck each and they have 4 photo slots in the front so you can put your own pictures and personalize your bags. they come in white, pink, blue, black and orange. but they are a bit smaller (might not be able to fit a towel into them) which i was okay with.

i got first aid kits, travel wipes, an 8 pack of travel tissues all for a buck each at dollarama

pretty sure i saw playing cards in the $1 aisle at michaels plus frisbees and beach balls if you want that kinda stuff too.

for my individual medicine packets i ordered them here but i have friends that live in california so i got it shipped to them and they're bringing it when they visit in a couple weeks. but they do ship to canada

IMODIUM A-D 2 PACK 36 COUNT

here's a free spanish booklet which might be the same one that virg is talking about. Print a Free Pocket-Sized Phrase Booklet | Spanish - Espaol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
