Moon Dance Cliffs

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! So I know there's already a Moon Dance Villas thread where a lot of people have posted about Moon Dance Cliffs, but I was hoping to have our own thread started with just Moon Dance Cliffs information on it! I'm hoping to share a bunch of information to help us all plan our wedding at Moon Dance Cliffs!

I know there are a couple of us out there with upcoming weddings (I think one even as soon as the end of January!) I would love to see what vendors people are going with, dinner options, etc.!

Thanks ladies!

Claudette!

Good call on starting this thread :) So far I have booked the photographer (Sungold Photography) and other than that I am still waiting on Linus or Kerry (the new WC for MDC) to email me back with lists of preferred vendors for the DJ, Band, Flowers, linens etc... I am getting a little annoyed b/c I emailed them over a week ago and Kerry told me that she would, "get back to me shortly" and I still have not heard anything. I told Kim a few days ago and she said that she would tell Kerry to get back to me, but still I have heard nothing as of today! I'm sure they are super busy with the grand opening but still it's not hard to send over a list of vendors. I am a little nervous about how things will go with Kerry since she is new. I had heard that Linus is a stickler for details and always did a great job of his MDV brides so I was hoping to have him at MDC. Oh well hopefully this will get better!

Hi Sparkles!

Yes I figured, hey, we should have our very own thread! wink.gif I'm sooo excited because today I put down our 20% deposit! So we are finally booked! Woohoo! I got so excited I even finished creating our wedding website - here it is if you want to take a peek!

Claudette and Jules - wedding website by mywedding.com

I created pages for my bridal party, but have them "turned off" but that's another story altogether! wink.gif

So since I'm just now starting the process, I will now begin the whole wedding planning stage with Linus. If I receive anything from him, I will definitely let you know...I'm sure they assume you have plenty of time so you can wait, but clearly they've never been a future bride! :)

I have contacted Sungold Photography to see if they're avaialble for my date - I think they're out of town so I have to wait and see. I also contacted Michael Saab, who is pretty pricey, but he is available and I love his pics...his link, just in case, is: Jamaica Wedding Photographer, Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, Kingston, Port Antonio, Jamaica Wedding

I'm not sure what to do with regards to entertainment - live band or DJ - I'm still undecided.

I'm so happy that there's a spa right there at the resort so we can get our hair and make-up done without worrying about transportation!

I'm trying to finalize my save the dates...I had a disaster with a hotel in Mexico and have ordered and had to cancel my save the dates TWICE! Luckily both times the place I was getting them from were so nice and refunded me the whole amount both times! They're wonderful! They are at: Save The Date Magnets, Wedding Invitations, Wedding Announcements, Postcards for Weddings, Magnetic Favors

Well, now that the resort is picked (for the second time!), I'm looking forward to moving on with the details! I hope we can all share ideas, themes, colors, etc.! I have already picked out my bridesmaids dresses - they're from David's Bridal (since all of them are out-of-towners, I feel that's easiest!) - here's a link: David's Bridal - Bridesmaid 83312 Cotton sateen strapless dress with ruching and in seam pockets.

I think that's it for now! More to come!

I'm so excited for all of us Moon Dance Cliffs brides! We have such an amazing location, we will no doubt all have beautiful weddings! Can't wait to share!

Hi Ladies,

I am in the process of trying to pick a resort... Right now Moon Dance Cliffs is at the top of my list. The grand opening rates are wonderful, I am just worried about the resort not having an all inclusive dining option. I was thinking that it would be a lot easier for my guests to have this option. What were the deciding factors for you ladies?? I'm just finding that this is much more difficult than I expected...Hopefully you can provide me with a little insight. TIA

Hello everyone - I just booked my wedding at Moondance as well. Very excited. It is still early to dive into full blown planning - just happy to have the place set for November 14th.

On photographers - love sungold but who do you go with if not paula and damian? They are very expensive to get as they only offer one package. Are you going with an associate? And if so, which one?

As for DJ - really need to get this one right as music is really important to us. any good recommendations?

Hello All,

I have decided on Moon Dance Cliffs, so I will be here often! I have spoken to Kim a few times and she is very helpful. Claudette, I am so relieved to here that I'm not the only one still trying to get things on the road, my date is 8/29/09. I have just picked the save the dates but need to order them, the place where you are getting yours from was on my list. Choosing the location was mostly the hold up. Next I am going to do our website using weddingwire.com. I also need to put my deposit down on the 1bd villa with 2 floors, forgot the name. I felt a little bad cause I feel like I'm behind in planning but things will get done in due time. Christina, another bride emailed me a spreadsheet she used to narrow down her coices. Basically you have to decide on exactly what you want and then do a process of elimination based soley on the main things that are important to you and your FI. I am not a big fan of AI, but you do what you like. I eat small portions and I like to go and venture out, meaning I may not get my money's worth with doing AI. Another thing to consider is if someone doesn't like the food for whatever reason it's kinda a waste. Good luck with making your decision. I was just was at that same point and was fed up and had to just make a decision, like you said it's a little more difficult once you start planning.

Not sure how long those rates will be available but I would assume once you make a deposit you will get those rates. As far as your guest you should advise them to make a deposit or book asap based on that or if you do a room block now you should get those rates. I would call and ask so you will know what kind of time to tell your guest they have to work with. I am going to have to check out Sungold and I plan on doing a DJ, at least you can provide a list of music to see if they have it available.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
