How much are your guests paying?

Recommended Posts

Just trying to get a sense of averages and wondered what everyone else's group rate is/was. How much are your guests paying to attend your wedding and have you gotten any grief about it?

I'll go first...my guests are paying approximately $1500 taxes in....5 star resort.

Our wedding party is staying with us in a private Villa $836 for 4 nights and $300-$500 for flights. Other guests are staying in an All- Inclusive resort for $1500 for 7 nights flights included thru expedia. I haven't heard any complaining YET.... I can see how our wedding party can have a problem paying so much more than guests but we are taking care of a lot for them. So hopefully its a wash??

1500 sounds about right...mine are paying $1650 at the RIU in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. All-inclusive, 5 star resort, includes flights and transfers.

We didn't really get any grief about pricing...but some guests were unable to attend because it was a bit steep for them...but we expected this to happen so no big deal.

Ours is all-inclusive at Dreams Punta Cana. For 7 nights incl airport xfers its $886 per person for 2 ppl in a deluxe room. Flights have been averaging about $400 per person. So, in total its been around $1200-$1300 per person.

Noone has complained about the cost and we specifically chose this resort for the lower cost. Those that can't afford it; just aren't coming.

My guests are paying $1428.00 pp (taxes included) to stay for one week at the Melia Caribe. Depending on which website you go to, it's a 4.5 to 5 star resort.

Originally I wanted to go to one of the Paradisus resorts but the quotes were $1800.00 - $2000.00 pp. So we chose the Melia (owned by the same company) because of the lower cost for our family and friends. And like sunsetbride1, those who can't afford it, won't be coming.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
