I'm getting married at the Palace on January 7, 2009! I have done A LOT of research, and have a great wedding planner here in Denver who's stayed at nearly every hotel in Cancun and Riviera Maya. She stayed at the Barcelo' Palace about 3 weeks ago, and couldn't speak highly enough about it. It's nice to talk to someone first hand who has slept in the beds, eaten the food, and seen/planned the weddings. I also have 2 co-workers who stayed there recently and they said it was amazing! I feel very confident that we made a great choice by picking the Barcelo' Palace!!!! I would love any feedback :)

Hi! I concur it is a great choice, we picked the Barcelo Maya Tropical but it was a tough choice between the Tropical and the Palace! I know someone who just got back from the Barcelo recently and LOVED it. My only problem is that the wedding coordinators take a few weeks to respond to you so if you have any questions start e-mailing them now! Have you checked out UNOFFICIAL BARCELO MAYA | Your unofficial guide to Beach | Caribe | Tropical | Colonial | Palace It is a great site with lots of info

Great to hear more positive feedback about the Barcelo. I know all of them are gorgeous! When are you set to get married? My wedding planner has taken care of contacting the resort, set the date ect. but she also said it can be tough to reach the coordinators. I'm pretty easy going and know it will all turn out GREAT! smile159.gif

I am getting married at the Palace on Jan 17, 2009. Im going on a site visit on June 23rd so let me know if there is anything you need me to find out. My TA stayed at the Palace a few weeks ago with a group of TA's touring 2o or so spots in the RM. They raised the slow response time from the wedding coordinators as an issue and were promised improvement...dont know if anyting has improved bc I have not tried to contact them for months.

Hi, I am also getting married at the Barcelo Palace. Our wedding date is June 27, 2008. We are leaving on June 20th (less than 3 weeks away!) We visited the resort Sept 2007 and it's beautiful. The Palace opened in December, but when we were there, we were allowed to walk through some areas at the Palace. We are getting married at the on-site catholic chapel and our reception is at the Coral Grill. We have 60 people in our group. I've been talking to Gabriella (WC) through email. Right now the response time is super slow, but they have 2-3 weddings a day! Typially they will write back and answer all of your questions, but it takes them time. Please let me know if you have any questions, I've been researching the Barcelo for about 9 months now and can help out if I can.smile159.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
