Wow, so I was super frustrated this week because I was totally out of commission with bronchitis. I missed the entire week from work. I'm still not really even better and in fact now i'm worse off. Yesterday, I was a genius and I decided to boil hot water and vicks to be able to breathe it in and relieve my congestion a little. I couldn't breathe and nothing was working. Well, probably because I was so weak, the pot of boiling water with vicks slipped out of my hands and landed on my tummy and legs. The FI rushed me from work to take me to the hospital. I have some nasty 2nd degree burns and so much pain and I'm so bummed out. I was already feeling so behind in my planning. ugh. Anyway, i just wanted to vent. Just a question to any brides that have already been married in the Mayan Riviera. Do you need a costco membership to shop at the costco in that area? Would the canadian membership be valid? Does anyone know if they have fresh flowers there? And has anyone sorted out where you can buy sparklers in that area? Walmart? Chedraui? Thanks! Totally frustrated.

My fiance and I will be having our destination wedding this summer in Riviera Maya, Mexico at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya Resort. Our travel agent as well as friends suggested us going early to do our honeymoon first since we obviously don't want to honeymoon with our families around. Has anyone done this or considered this? Pros and cons? Currently, we are scheduled to arrive in Mexico on a Wednesday (just the two of us). We will stay from Wednesday-Wednesday for our honeymoon. Our family and friends will be arriving that following Thursday and our wedding will be held on the Friday. We then plan to spend Saturday and Sunday with our guests and fly back Monday. Thoughts?

So I am getting married August 15 at now sapphire in riviera maya and I still have not picked my centerpieces/ flowers! Everything seems so expensive and I am very simple, but I still want it to look nice. I have an idea of what I want but I don't think I can travel with what I want. The resort wants to charge about 85 plus tax for a centerpiece. I've seen some people on this site post about using outside vendors but I know I'll have to pay an outside vendor fee (300) so I feel like it will add up quickly. I would be happy with any of the below centerpieces, which one would require minimal flowers, which I could get from resort, but the biggest problem is the glass vases. I feel like I can't just use one, so with 3 per table I would need about 21 with 7 tables. Definitely can't travel with those!! Has anyone experienced traveling with all that stuff or have any other suggestions? I really like just the candles but since reception is outside, I'm afraid they will blow out if not in glass. What do you think?? My favorite really is with the flowers in the water, I don't know what to do!

Hello fellow brides to be! My name is Amanda and I have been engaged for 14 months and will be married on the 28th of April, 2015 at the RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas. I have so many stresses and so many questions and I am SO new to forums/boards that I don't really know where to start, so I hope I'm doing this right! (Please be patient with me!) I've been working with a complimentary wedding planner from Sunwing/Signature Vacations names Antoinette. She is very hard to get a hold of, but she's very knowledgeable when we communicate. So far, I have chosen the Royal Package (up to 20 guests, including the B&G), I have been in contact with the reverend and have planned out our ceremony (which will be on the beach). I'm now at the point where my wedding invitations have been sent and I'm waiting on the RSVPs to come in. We have a total of 32 confirmed, booked guests, with 28 maybes....so I really need those RSVPs to come back! My FI and I are set on the dinner location and reception location, but we were told that if we have over 40 guests, we have to pay for a private reception. We really don't want to do this, because according to their min/max capacity, the ONLY option we'd have for dinner is the Mexican Restaurant, and although we will be in Mexico, fajitas and bean burritos don't scream "wedding food"...we're wanting steak and lobster, which is why we initially chose the steakhouse....but this seems to be throwing a wrench in our plans. For the reception we're opting for renting out La Pascha, their discotheque. For $660USD it includes DJ and Open Bar, so we figured that's the best way to go....although, I can't seem to find any pictures or videos or anything posted from anyone who has had their reception at Pascha...so if any of you know where I can find this info or can speak of it first hand, I'd love to hear from you! I have a friend who got married last year at the Santa Fe and had her reception on the beach... I think that would be awesome! But kind of expensive, and we're trying not to go into too much debt from our wedding. There are so many little details to plan out and it's starting to stress me out! I opted for a DW to avoid having to make these little decisions...but it seems there's no escaping them, lol Anyway, I'll leave it at that, and hope to hear from you!
