Provo (PLS) Airport; Arrival

The airport is very small, customs was really quick, just be sure you have your forms filled out before you get there and make sure you use blue or black ink!!! I only had a pink pen on me and they made me refill out the forms and had no pens for me to use I had to run around and find a pen from someone else.  Some of them were a little rude too, the first guy I got was really rude and the one my parents got was also rude to them, but the second lady I went to was extremely nice!  Go through the line “nothing to declare” and get right through.

Shuttle to Beaches

The shuttle was there within minutes they ask you your name and they write your room number on your luggage and load it onto the shuttle, the ride is about 15 minutes, buckle up because they drive fast!!!!

Arrival at the Resort

Someone will greet you with cold a towel which was really nice we were pretty hot, and then you walk over and you can get a rum punch, didn’t try any though. They unload all your bags for you and take them to your room.  Check in was really easy, all our forms were already filled out we just had to double check over the info and give them a credit card to put on file.  After that someone will meet you to take you to your room and they will show you everything in your room.  Our wedding coordinator happened to be there so she took us to our room and went over some stuff.  Be sure to get a map!!! We got lost our first day there!

Our Room

We stayed in the basic room in the Caribbean village, which was more than enough for us, the only time we were in the room was the shower and to sleep, I had no issues with the room at all, no mosquitoes, it wasn’t dirty or anything like you read on trip advisor.

The Resort

The resort is absolutely amazing!!!  Every bit of it was gorgeous and well kept, the resort is pretty big, but you get used to it after the first day or so, take the time the first day to walk around and get familiar with everything.

Restaurants

There is no possible way to eat at every restaurant in 6 days so I’ll go over the ones we did eat at.  I was also told by the WC that if you have large parties of 10 or more you have to eat at 6:00 if not they will turn you away at most restaurants, also if you have large parties you have to make reservations and she can take care of all of that for you.  The only time we all ate together at once was for the welcome dinner, so I only had to make one reservation.

Reflections

We ate here a lot because it was right in the Caribbean village lobby so it was close by, we ate there the first night for dinner which was a seafood buffet, it was really good and I’m not normally a buffet kind of person.  There was a ton of food to choose from, I wouldn’t recommend going right at 6:00 because that’s when dinner starts and it was crazy in there!! Go a little bit later once the dinner rush has calmed down.

We also lunch a few times there before too and it was also very good!

Schooners

We only had breakfast here and it was pretty good, but we didn’t go back after that, a good portion of our group ate there for dinner one night and did not enjoy their food, and said the service was extremely slow my parents were there for 2 hours!

Mario’s

We had our welcome dinner here, our WC made the reservations for us, originally we had planned to have it outside they have a nice outside dining area, but it was soooo hot that day we decided to have it inside!  The food was decent, the servers were really good to us, they gave us 2 waiters for our table and they stayed there the whole night, just at our table and made sure everyone always had a drink; the dessert was good they brought all six desserts out for each group to share!

The last morning there we had breakfast there and if I had their breakfast before we would have had it every day!!! It was so goooood and they had so much to choose from it was crazy! Make sure you go to Mario’s for breakfast!

Some Pictures from our Welcome Dinner

Arizona’s

Good Tex-Mex food, we only ate here once, and it was pretty good, and the dessert was amazing!!!

Sushi Bar

The sushi was delicious!!! Some of the best I’ve ever had, if you enjoy sushi make sure you make a stop here one night.

Café de Paris

Good for your coffee fix!! They also have a bunch of pastries as well.

Giuseppe’s

Had breakfast here once morning, it was pretty good, also a buffet, but not as good as Mario’s breakfast buffet

Bobby D’s

Ate here once, they stay open all night long, until 6 am, so this was  a great place to go after you were out drinking all night and needed a bite to eat LOL!!!

Bella Napoli Pizzeria

I didn’t eat here but all of our guests did and they LOVED it, they all had a pizza from here every day!!!!

Bars

Turtles Lounge

Really really fun if there is something going on there that night, if nothing is going on its pretty boring.  So check your daily paper and see what’s going on at each place as long as there is some sort of music or something going on you will have a great time!  We went here the night of the wedding and danced all night long and had a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cricketers

We went here after the welcome dinner for Karaoke and we all had the best time ever!! Everyone in our group got up there at some point in time and did karaoke and it was hilarious!!!!!  They have the karaoke at different places every night, make sure you check it out at least once while you’re there, we had a blast!!!!!

Go to the swim up bar in the French village and see O’Brian and ask for an enchanted cooler YUM!!!!

Club Liquid

This is adults only after a certain time I believe 11:00 pm, we only stayed for a little bit after we left Cricketers, it’s really neat in there, it’s all white with blue lighting and they play good music there, so if you like to dance, stop by there and check it out!

Pools

All of the pools were great and huge!!! Love the swim up bars! My favorite pool was the one in the Caribbean village behind the lobby, with the rocks and the waterfall, and the pools are the perfect temperature!  The pool in the Italian village is nice and huge, but there are a lot of kids at that one so we didn’t stay there.  The one in the French village is also really nice.

The Water Park

We had so much fun at the water park, the lazy river is sooo nice, and the surf simulator was a blast!!!!

The Spa

The spa is really nice; I got my hair and make-up done there.  I did the package with the trial hair and makeup and then they do your hair and make-up on the day of the wedding and then I paid for another make-up application for our photo shoot the day after the wedding.  I thought they did a really good job on the hair and make-up, my MIL also got her hair and make-up done and hers also turned out really well.

The Gym

We walked into the gym but that’s about it LOL!!! My parents went a couple of times and it’s really nice in there, it’s a good size and they have a good amount of treadmills and free weights, cold towels and plenty of water.

The Wedding

Ok, so now what you really want to hear about, the actual wedding!!!!     I don’t even know where to start J  All I can say is that it was PERFECT and AMAZING!!!!!!!  The best decision I ever made was to have a destination wedding and the second best decision was to have it at Beaches Turks and Caicos!! Everyone had an amazing time, hands down the best vacation and wedding ever for us and our guests, my MIL has already put her deposit down to come back next year LOL!!!!!

Ok, so I’ll start with the beginning of the day, which was hair and make-up at the spa, I thought they did a really good job at making me look great, the hair didn’t hold up too well, but I have really long straight hair and it was very very HUMID so I expected it.

The wedding coordinator had everyone meet at turtles lounge at 3:30 for our 4:00 ceremony; everyone was escorted over to the ceremony site on the beach.  After that the wedding coordinator came to my room to pick up me, my mom and dad, and my SIL/BM.  She handed me my bouquet and we walked to the front of the lobby and got in the golf cart for a ride to the ceremony site.  We pulled up and hubby was facing the other way and everyone else was watching me come in, once the music started and I started walking down the aisle with my father, hubby was allowed to turn around!  He later told me he got teary eyed as soon as he saw me J which I was really happy to hear because originally we had planned to do some photos before the ceremony and now Im sooooo glad we did not!!! We actually didn’t sleep in the same room the night before or see each other all day! J

The pastor started reading a script we had chosen, and then the vows came, and then the exchanging of the rings, I’d say the ceremony was about 20 minutes long if that. Then we walked down the aisle and over to the table to sign our marriage certificate.  From there we walked back over to the arch to take photos with the beaches photographer.  Then we took a few group shots and that was it!!!

From there we all walked down the beach to meet Ileana with Tropical Imaging!!!! That will be a whole other review!!

She got us back just in time for our 6:00 2 hour private reception under the covered board walk area near the ocean, it was the perfect spot!!!  From there we were announced into the reception, with the wrong names LOL, Chris and Brian, all we could do was laugh, but they let us re-do it after hubby said something to our WC.  Then they called us down for our first dance, which started playing pretty much at the end, I looked at hubby and said isn’t this the end of the song LOL, we told the WC and she re-played it for us!  Then we cut the cake and did  the champagne toast.  Then it was time for dinner!!!!!!!

Dinner was some of the best food I have ever had, and Im picky about my food J We had a spicy crab cake with fruit salsa to start (mmm delicious), then came the salad we chose the fruit salad with the mango papaya dressing (also very delicious) then the main course was a choice between the jerk chicken and shrimp or the beef tenderloin, hubby and I both had the chicken and was sooo soo good, everyone said the beef tenderloin was also delicious I saw people cutting it with their fork!!! Then the dessert the pineapple baked Alaska was to die for!!!!!! You must get this if you’re an ice cream lover!  The cake was also very good but I only could eat two bites because I was sooo full!!!!

After and during dinner toasts were made, and we mingled around and then came the dancing! We had the calypso band for 2 hours, and they were fantastic they will even take requests!!  They were worth the money; it would have been too quite without them!

After everything was all over, there was a surprise at the end! My MIL had a room with a butler and her butler is the one who does the fire dancing!! He came over as a surprise to do a special show just for us, it was really neat to watch and everyone loved it!!!

IMG_0421.JPG

The Martha Stewart Seaside Serenade Theme

This was definitely worth the money as well, I really liked the décor and it added to everything, the cake was really cute I loved it and our seahorse cake topper made it!  The table decorations were really nice too my only complaint is the table clothes were a little wrinkly but I’m sure I’m the only one who picked up on that!  The bamboo arch on the beach with capiz shells was beautiful and sounded really neat when the wind blew, almost like wind chimes.  The bouquet was amazing!!!! And weighed a ton!!! But it was so gorgeous!!!

Photography

Now onto beaches photography, it wasn’t too bad, but they are no tropical imaging!!!  We received 12 free photos and they turned out ok, a few pictures he could have made me look a little more flattering, nobody wants double chins or mushed arms on their wedding day and a few photos came out that way, but they were decent and they were free!!!  We also got a free standard DVD but we haven’t seen that yet.

Last Day In Paradise

We said goodbye to each of our guests and walked them over to the departure lounge.  When we finally went to the departure lounge my mom made a comment about us just getting married, so if you let them know this they will treat you extra special, they did a champagne toast in front of everyone and poured me, hubby, mom and dad champagne made a toast and then they do a song at the end too, then they make sure you are the last to leave so you’re not standing and waiting for the shuttle they let you know when it’s ready and walk you out!

Well I think that’s it, I’m probably forgetting something, if you have any questions please feel free to ask me I’m happy to help!!!

wow great review you look beautiful!!! this may be a little odd but in the last picture of you and your guests there is a girl on the left of you wearing a floral dress (the one with the black top and the blue band) i really like it. im looking for something like that for my MOH. i was wondering if you could find out where she got it for me. I would really appreciate it if you can find the time. Thank you and congrats on being a MRS!!!

Brandy thank you for writing such a detailed review it was extremely helpful, I am glad it all went well. A co-worker of mine suggested this location. Do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions?

Hi Brandy! I'm planning a wedding there also. I read some reviews of trip advisor that questioned why people would get married there because there are so many kids everywhere. Did you find having a lot of kids at the resort distracting from your big day? I have a 5 year old daughter I'm bringing, but everyone else is couples around their 30's... are they going to have a great time? Thanks!
