Resort Stay: Overall our stay was amazing.  All of guests are still talking about this resort.  One of my bridesmaid who got engaged in February was against Destinations Weddings and were both in our other friends destination wedding also in Jamaica but at another resort.  Well after being part of my wedding, it has changed her mind.  So much so, that she is considering using Iberostar Suites.

Our wedding was the first family vacation/reunion, and now everyone is saying we have to do this at least every 2 years.

Gold Package

We arrived on Saturday, July 9th and was greeted with a drink.  We have been to Jamaica a few times, but this was our first time staying at Iberostar.  Iberostar is one of the most beautiful resort.  Since our room was not ready, we went some food.  By the time we were done eating, we checked to see if our room was ready and it was.  We loved our room.  Our romantic dinner was set up our first night by the Lazy river.  It was really romantic with beautiful lighting.  A few guests arrived the same day, however the majority arrived on Sunday, July 10th.

The next day, we had our meeting with Simone.  We emailed her a copy of guest list and the seating arrangements (Make sure to print out a copy of the guest list and the seating chart) since we emailed her a copy of the both lists, during the reception, my parents table ended up in the back, I was not happy about it.  One of my bridesmaids informed that my parents table was in the back and Simone couldn't print out both the guest list and the seating chart, after confirming that parents were ok being seated back, I just let things be the way it was.  I gave Simone, my cake topper, my table cards, my ceremony songs.  Our guests meal choices were not ready.  Which ended up not being problem.  Our welcome boxes for guests were delivered to Aunt Ruby's (where the dinner rehearsal would be).

Dinner Rehearsal:  Nicole was able to reserve Aunt Ruby's for 8:30 for all of my guests (they usually do a reserve seating for a maxium of 60 guests).  Dinner was excellent.  Everyone had a surf turf for dinner with the exception of a few vegetarians.

Wedding Day:
Hair and Make Up: I hired Rashel Edwards (Chasity Airbrush Makeup Artistry) and her hair stylist. They arrived on time. Rachel started at 11 am on my 8 bridesmaids, mom, a friend and myself. Our makeup was flawless. The hair stylist did my mother's and was started doing mine, until one of my girls realized she was doing the hairstyle I asked for.  My friend ended up taking over and did my hair.   She did a good job on my mother's hair, but not mine.   I don't know what I would have done with my girlfriend, she is a true life saver.  Honestly, I would only hire Rashel for make up, she is the best and she books early.  As for her, I would pass.

Wedding Décor and flowers:
I went with Godfrey Guy (GGDecor). Godfrey Guy and his team is amazing.  From the moment I reached out to Godfrey and eventually hired him, he would go above and beyond.  I gave a few ideas I had, and he would come up with something even better.  Godfrey Guy lives and breathes decor.  This is his passion, and it is reflected within his work.  He provided us with chairs, linens, chargers, napkins, napkin rings, centerpieces, flowers, cake stand, our sweetheart table, chair, back stand, huppa and aisle markers.  If you hire Godfrey Guy, you will not be disappointed, it was the best decision I made after booking the resort.

Cake: Even though our package came with the resort cake, I did not want use it after hearing so many bad reviews.  So I used Sheila's Homemade Pastries.  OMG that cake was absolutely delicious and it looked exactly how it was supposed to come.  Everyone raved about the cake.

Photographer: Michael Saab (SAAB Weddings). Michael was a pleasure to work with.  I ended up using his associate which was a bit more affordable.  The pictures came out beautiful.  We love every single photo taken. We received our photos two weeks after the wedding.

Ceremony: The wedding was at the Lazy River. We had a wedding rehearsal the day before the wedding, all went smoothly.  The music, wedding officiant was perfect.

Cocktail Hour: Simone suggested it would great to have cocktail hour by the Lobby Terrace.  We had the steel pan band playing.  We had cold appetizers and Simone was able to add in some salfish fritters and cocktail patties. The guest enjoyed the appetizers and drinks and of course the music.

Wedding Reception: We choose the Calabash from 6:30pm-10pm. We substituted the original menu with the Jamaican Menu. For Starters, All guests were served salads and pumpkin soup.  The Pumpkin Soup is so YUUMMYY.  For Entrees guests had a choice of  Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat and Escovitch Fish. Every one loved the food. We were able to stay an extra hour.

DJ Dutch (Resorts Preferred Vendors):
He was good, everyone was on the dance floor all night.  I just gave him a list of artists my husband and I love and depending on the genre, I told him which era.   I gave him the list of entrance songs, each of bridesmaids, ring security and flowergirl had a separate song.

Thank you so much for the detailed review. I am currently working on flowers and the resort said that I would have to pay an additional $100 per person to set up flowers if needed. I read the reviews about Tai Flora and I am a bit apprehensive about going with them. I will continue to do my research. Your pictures are amazing!!!..Congratulations!!!

This is a great site! So glad I found it and ur detailed description of Rose Hall is making me lean toward this resort!

I'm torn right now. I love your pictures and I wasn't impressed with the gazebo beach photos I had seen at this resort. I was also concerned about the wind, but to know there's another option for the ceremony on the lawn looks great!

I'm in the process of planning my wedding and have decided destination is the way we want to go. I've done a lot of research and have narrowed it down to Azul Sensatori in Negril, which is a Karisma Resort and Rose Hall Suites Montego Bay.

We're in our early 30's, we love the beach, great food, and a beautiful resort. Customer service is huge to us!

It would also be great if there were some cool things to do outside of the resort as well for our guests and our honeymoon. Since we'd be getting married at one of the above locations, ease of planning and working with their staff is super important too!

Does anyone have any suggestions on which they'd select and why? If they've been married at either location, attended a wedding, or been a guest at either?

Lastly, any travel agent recommendations?

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.
