We were married at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in April, and (as the title suggests) it was pretty awesome. The resort is beautiful, the staff is attentive, and the experience was worth the trip. In fact, my entire wedding party is already planning a return trip.
The reason that I am knocking the rating down by a star and a half is because of the Iberostar's external vendors. Iberostar makes it hard to book external vendors. While it's not impossible to use other vendors, Iberostar compels you to use DigiPix (the hotel's the on-site photo shop) for photography, and Tia Flora for flowers. The florist worked directly with me, and I was happy with the flowers. But, I paid them separately, which was not relayed properly to Iberostar. Iberostar attempted to bill me for the flowers too, and I spent the entire trip proving and re-proving that I did not need to pay for flowers again. This was a minor frustration compared to the photographer. DigiPix is the weakest link in the Iberostar's package. I really don't think the price was worth the Digipix product. Let's put it this way: my mother took better pictures on her iPad. In addition, we had a ton of problems on the business end. They have a rotating staff so I had to continually re-explain what I wanted. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a photographer.
Honestly, these were minor bumps in the road, and everything worked out in the end. We can't wait to go back!
