We had our wedding ceremony and reception with about 40 guests at Blue Venado Feb. 2014.  Wonderful experience!!!

The location is breath taking.  We visited a few days before the wedding and when my husband (then fiance) walked down to the beach he was literally speechless.  It is 100% private (hard to find in the area), surrounded by lush jungle on one side, and blue ocean on the other.  The ceremony took right on the beach and the reception in a large palapa (big thatched roof hut/open air shelter).  The palapa is essentially a blank canvas that you can decorate however you like.  We chose to hang custom papel picado banners, string lights, and chinese lanterns.  The bar is big, with fun swings.  There are clean restroom facilities on site.  It has a cool "rustic" feel, It is deep in the jungle, accessible off the main highway by a long gravel road.

The food, oh the food. WOW!  We chose to have a buffet, and we were blown away.  My step-dad said the ribs were some of the best he's had, and this is a man who is serious about meat.  The pasta is homemade and you can really tell how fresh it is!  The ceviche was the best we had on our entire trip.  Every item on the menu was put together and served with great care and pride.  I was so impressed with Angel, the chef.  The service was fantastic, too.  The event went seamlessly and the bartenders kept glasses full all night with delicious concoctions.

I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants a beautiful, private, off-resort wedding that can be customized however you'd like!
