Pros: Resort Photographer Fernanda, Wedding planners, everything!
Cons: none!

I got married at Now Jade on February 8th, 2014. I am still sitting on cloud 9 as I look at our wonderful wedding photos and think of all of the great memories we made.

Everything exceeded my expectations.

We had 34 guests and choose the Devine Package. Our wedding was on the Pergola, reception in the Bamboo room and cocktail hour at the Mix Bar.

Once we arrived in Cancun and went outside and there was a man waiting with my name on a sign. He led us go a Mercedes Town car to take us to Now Jade. (We have private transportation as a part of our package). We booked a non-preferred Ocean View room and got upgraded to a preferred Ocean View. Room # was 7203. Isela met us during check-in and introduced herself. The view from our room was amazing and the room was huge! We had a bottle of sparkling wine waiting as we arrived. Check in was easy and once we got to our room we started putting together our OOTBags.

We bought large tote bags from Discount Mugs. They were the grocery store type bag and we added a beachy logo and the date of our wedding. Everyone loved them.
We had plastic tumbler glasses inside, aloe cream, sunscreen, lip balm, mosquito repellent, and fun sunglasses. We got the tumbler glasses from the dollar store and used a plastic mailing label to personalize them. Once the glasses got wet in the pool the working on the glass came off- but it was the thought that counted! We bought the sunglasses on ebay for around $50 for 48 sunglasses. People loved them and wore them the entire trip!

We knew what days our guests were arrive and we tried to meet them in the lobby as they were checking in to give them their bag or we called down to find out what room number they were in so we could deliver them ourselves. We never had to pay to have them delivered and it worked out great.

Day the the wedding:
Spa was great. We have 4 people total getting hair done and 3 makeup. They did a great job for everything and everyone liked their hair! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did her best to copy it. I loved my makeup. I told her I wanted very natural and she did exactly as I said. I even had to ask her to add a bit more eyeliner because it was almost "too" natural! But it looked great and my hubby really liked it because he doesn't like the heavy makeup look. I brought my own fake eyelashes but forgot to bring the glue. They didn't have any glue but they used something else that seemed to work!

We had given the wedding coordinators chair ties and table runners that we bought at oriental trading company to tie on the white chair covers. Normally I'd say that white chair covers are tacky- but with the chair ties and the amazing ocean view- I didn't even notice the covers and I don't think anyone else did either.

Our minister was Jorge Pinto. He was great! We didn't have a rehearsal so I didn't know what to expect but he walked us through everything during the ceremony and I felt so at ease.
One of the wedding coordinators had an Ipod with music I had given them for the ceremony. They played the songs exactly as I told them!
One thing I didn't think to do was to have envelops with tip money to give to minister, DJ, servers at dinner, etc. Because we never saw them again we weren't able to tip them and I wish we would have.

After ceremony we were led down to get our champaign and then to the beach for group photos and photos of the two of us. Our photographer was Fernanda and she was AMAZING! Everyone who I have showed my photos to has said that they have never seen such amazing wedding photography. (I'm sure the beautiful ocean background doesn't hurt!) We chose the complete photo package with the resort photographer Fernanda. She started at 12:30 AM at the Spa and was with us until around 7:30 pm. Then we did our trash the dress shoot at 11 AM the next morning. Fernanda will be going on maternity leave soon but if she is still there I recommend you ask for her!

The cocktail hour was great because we were able to be there for most of it. We have four appetizers and I honestly didn't even go over to see the food set up because I was so busy talking with everything and getting drinks from Darius! (best bartender ever!)

The bamboo room was set up beautifully! We have them everything for our centerpieces except we rented 4 tall vases (I think 15$ a piece). We brought pink flower peddle to be scattered on the table with a pink table runner. They had printed out on beautiful pink flowered paper the dinner menu (which I wasn't expecting but was a wonderful addition!). My mom had may really neat wine cork name card holders with pink silk flowers. We brought down 2 packages of "flowery puffs" to hang from the ceiling which really brought the room together.

Reception was a blast and we partied from 6-9 pm. My blisters still hurt from dancing so much.

After the reception we went back to our room to change shoes and our room was set up beautifully! We had flower peddles everywhere, champagne, and a flower peddle drawn bath on our balcony (too bad we couldn't use it because other guests would be able to see us!... but it was a nice touch)

After changing we met other guests up at the disco and partied it up until 1:30 AM. Then we had about 10 people head back to our room for room service (we were starving by them!) and we finally went to bed around 3:30 AM.

At 9 AM we had breakfast in bed scheduled which was delicious! And then we did our trash the dress shoot at 11.

Overall I was so impressed by the resort. We had an amazing week and our guests did as well!

I am so happy that we choose Now Jade!

In case you are wondering... for the Divine Package with 34 guests and with the complete wedding package using the resort photographer our total bill was around $7,000. (not including our stay)
We were expecting around that but we didn't except everything to be as nice as it was!

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions!!!!!

Awesome review! Makes me excited for my wedding!

Nice to see your total dollar amount. We are having essentially the same things. 30 guests with divine pkg. We are doing the whole day package for photography (basically everything but TTD)

One thing we are likely doing is an extra hour for the reception. What are your thoughts? If you could do it over would you do this? My worry is that 3 hours isn't long enough being that dinner will probably take up one of the hours, only leaving two hours. Then by the time we do our first dance, mother/son, father/daughter....etc I just worry there wont be much time for everyone else to have fun.

Please give me your opinion as you would probably know best having gone through it yourself!

Again, congrats, the pics look awesome!

Thank you! I thought that the 3 hour reception was perfectly fine. We had a group of a bunch of dancers (and drinkers) and in no way did I feel like the party was cut short. We started our reception at 6 and did toasts right away. Dinner started at 6:20 and by 7 we had already eaten all three courses and started with the cake cutting, then first dance, then father daughter, and then we got the party started. By 9 pm we just moved the party to the dance floor (after changing my shoes!) and stayed there until after 1 am ish....

I didn't think it would be worth it to spend the extra $ to extend the reception. But had we extended, it I'm sure we would have had used all the time.

WOW! this review has truly put me at ease!!! AND your pictures look incredible!! truly gets me excited for our big day!!! i do have a couple of questions: did you have a DJ?and if so how much was it? I keep thinking about who will be announcing things: for example: announcing us in, or the first dance, or best man/maid of honor speech? also would you be able to share the ebay link where you purchased the glasses from (just a good idea!), also how did you set up the private transportation (i also have the divine package and believe its included). im sorry to bombard you with all these questions!!!! hope to hear from you soon! And congrats to you and your hubby!

We used the resort DJ for 3 hours and the total was around $850. I was surprised that he even uplit the room in the fuschia color of my wedding (i thought they would have been an extra charge). He did a great job of announcing us as we entered. We sort of had to go and take the mic when we wanted to start the speeches. When we told him we were ready for that cake cutting he put on our song and directed the attention to the cake. He took song requests from our guests and did a great job of keeping the party going. However, just keep in mind you may need to tell him when you are ready for toasts/ etc.

I talked to Isela about the private transfer and she gave me a confirmation email once she arranged everything.

I just searched my email for the link for the sunglasses and I couldn't find it! And I'm sorry it wasn't ebay- it was Amazon! If you search for Wayfare sunglass lot you can see several different sellers. I can't remember which I bought from.

Good luck!!!

Hi there, and Congratulations!!!!

I was wondering what the approximate cost was for each of your guests to fly to/stay at NOW Jade?

Thank you!

Loved your review and congrats!! My fiance and I are looking into the NOW Jade for our wedding in may 2015. One of my concerns about the NOW Jade is the location. Did any of your guests leave the resort? I was looking to provide a location where guests could leave the resort if they wanted. Did you feel like this was an issue or too far from other activities? Thanks
