Pros: Fast, Easy, Stress Free

I just got home from what was a dream come true.  We arrived at the Grand Palladium on a Monday and then met with the wedding coordinator on Tuesday morning to talk about our Friday wedding.  Everything was pretty much decided 2 weeks or less before we left via email.  Once we got there we went on a tour to all of the wedding locations.  We choose to have the wedding on the beach at 4pm.  Then we went back to Nekeisha's office and she went over the final price and made sure we had everything we wanted.  She was very helpful.

I had the steel drum band for the ceremony which was awesome.  Luckily I got my room upgraded on Wednesday to room #3042 so I was able to walk out of my room right down the isle.  Plus I heard the band ahead of time.  They were absolutely amazing and I would definitely recommend them!

I had the island pearl package but changed the decorations at the wedding at no additional charge.  She let me do pretty much whatever I wanted.  I did upgrade my flowers to orchids and a tropical mix with Tia Floral.  This was pretty easy, I just found pictures that I wanted and then emailed them and my flowers turned out exactly like the picture!  The table center pieces were very pricey so I went to the dollar store and bought vaces for the bridesmaids to put their flowers in and candles.  Save a ton of money there!

After the ceremony we did picture with our photographer that we hired outside of the resort.  It was Sandy May who actually lives in Jamaica 6 months and then in the US the other 6 months so we really lucked out there.  She took very good pictures from what I have seen so far.  Much better then the hotel photographer.  True Colors was not very good at all.  It was hard for me to pick my 8 photos since none were really that good.

Our reception was at the Blue Lagoon at 6pm and we hired the DJ Irie Jamz (this is the one the hotel provided).  They played the BEST music and had all of our guests dancing all night long!!!  We did use my uncle as the MC to announce the bridal party.  There was no problem with privacy at this place.  We did have one guy who came in and tried to dance but they did have it blocked off very well.  We had 53 guests total so we chose to do the Jamaican Buffet Dinner.  This was definitely the best food we had all week.  Everyone was talking about it.  Since so many people have different tastes this worked great so we could have a little something for everyone.

After the reception all of our guests went down to the beach and lit off the sky lanterns.  The hotel said it was OK and we had a lot of people watching.

One thing that I would suggest is not to get such a HOT dress.  I bought my dress before I knew we were going to do a destination wedding, so it was a little sweaty but I suffered through it :)

We also did a lot of excursions.  Fishing, horseback riding, Mayfield Falls, Zip line, Ricks Cafe cliff jump, sunset cruise, 7 mile beach...so we were on the go most of the time and enjoyed every minute of it.

Hi Erica,

Thank you so much for your review. We are just starting to plan our wedding now and this was on our list of resorts to book with. Would you be able to give me an approximate cost for your Wedding + Reception? I think we have a photographer in mind already and I understand everyone's decoration costs will be different.
