We are Renaud and Severine, two young Europeans who started working in the Dominican Republic as photographers in 2000 and who created their own company four years ago.
Led by our passion for photography, we quickly realized that we wanted to offer a more personalized and professional service than the traditional "resort" picture that can be found in most of the places here and are now offering the same quality that you would find in your own country. The only difference is that we are onsite and have a lot of experience in beach weddings.
You can contact us for more information about pricing and we hope to meet you soon here in paradise!
During the wedding you could barely feel them but they definitely made sure to capture he entire thing. They are amazing!
They are both so sweet and you can really tell they love what they do! I recommend them 10000%!!

Severing did a great job editing our photos and sent them to us on a USB key. We are so happy with them, and all of our friends and family have said the same. Since we live overseas and she knew it would take a while for them to arrive, Severine set up a great website for us to view the photos and show them to our friends and family ahead of time.
We highly recommend PhotoSouvenir! They are simply fabulous photography company and such a pleasure to work with!
Thank you Severine!
We used Photo Souvenir for our December 3rd, 2013 wedding at the Majestic Elegance. We decided mainly to go with this photographer because of the style that he used and the fact that he was local for the trash the dress session. We booked a number of months out and arranged to meet a couple days prior to the wedding upon arrival. The meeting itself went incredibly smoothly and I had a good feeling right off the bat.
On wedding day (wedding was at the Majestic Elegance and the reception and dinner was at Jellyfish) Renaud met with the girls first for pictures while getting ready and then the guys, The creativity behind his pictures were perfect and he was able to capture a lot of candid photos (which we were delighted with) along with some great posed pictures. Renaud was able to capture the feeling of the day perfectly on his own but was also genuinely excited when we came up ideas for pictures that we wanted as well. His personal touch during this was amazing. We just received our pictures a day ago and, when looking through, we were amazed at what he captured. He caught so many moments from angles which were perfect and we didn't even realize he was taking at the time. He seamlessly fit into the ceremony and provided the quality of pictures which we wanted.
After the ceremony he took full control of the group and was able to ensure that we received all the pictures of family, friends, etc, that we spoke about previously. I know that there was a post previously saying that he didn't organize the group appropriately, but that was definitely not the case for us. We were a pretty laid back and large group (50 people) so we needed some direction - Renaud ensured that we had that.
Prior to dinner we set up some more wedding party shots while the sun was setting. It was a pretty incredible scene for us as the colors in the sky were all sorts of different shades of pink and purple. Unfortunately for us, the sunsets only last a short time, but fortunately Renaud optimized the time that we did have to ensure that we had some once in a lifetime pictures.
During the Reception and Dinner Renaud, once again, fit right into our wedding. He was outgoing and friendly, which enabled him to really connect with our guests and take shots which truly reflected the atmosphere. He managed to capture a lot of the pictures of the decor (which was great because it turns out none of our guests did) and stayed on top of the evening from start to finish. He didn't miss a beat and, even when we stayed a bit later at Jellyfish than our contract was negotiated, he stayed right to the end.
The day after we had the trash the dress session, a major selling feature for why we initially chose Photo Souvenir. The places that we were taken were phenomenal. We really wanted to have pictures which truly represented the people, culture, and environment of the Dominican and not only of the resort and the restaurant - One of the best decisions we made. If you want authentic pictures in the DR, go with Photo Souvenir. Renaud's knowledge of the surrounding area, along with ability to connect with locals so that you can have truly unique pictures was awesome to see. At one point we were in a local lady's outdoor cooking area for pictures (the lady also seemed really excited to have a bride and groom taking pictures with her)!
I can honestly say that this photographer was the perfect choice for us. Our guests were even commenting on how amazing he seemed the day after.
We just received our pictures a day ago and we were blown away. Not only did the trash the dress pictures come out perfect but Renaud managed to capture images from the ceremony and prior perfectly. The quality of photography was everything that we could have asked.
I can't say enough good things about our experience with Renaud and Photo Souvenir and truly thank him for experience and pictures he provided.

We used Photo Souvenir for our wedding in April 2013. I have to say, they were professional (for the most part) and easy to work with, English speaking - all good qualities when dealing with a destination wedding. The best photos we received from the wedding are from the 1 hour session we had with Renaud after the ceremony while everyone was at Cocktail hour. So, in 30 yrs, we'll have nice framed shots of us, our wedding party, family, etc. I will say that during that hour Renaud didn't take the reigns and tell our families who was needed and when. Instead, my husband and I had to direct our families (Kids first, now siblings, now parents, etc) it was annoying.
We had a rain delay and at our outdoor reception we had to race inside and have an additional cocktail hour while the ballroom was set up. It was fun, not planned, and the entire 100 guests had a fun time hanging out. Guess what, we couldn't find our photographers anywhere! Guess they took that hour to eat their own dinner!
However, I REALLY have to complain about Photo Souvenirs lack of any true photo talent. I feel as if I had given the expensive DSLR cameras to my brother or sister we could've had comparable results. I feel this way especially when seeing the quality of photos my friends have from their weddings (weddings in the Northeast USA). The photos and ESPECIALLY the video(!!!!) were not the best out there.
-the video is decent. It's edited in weird parts. It's also unoriginal and uncreative. It's put to music that I didn't choose (he didn't even ask me).
-lack of creativity (no wide angle lens, no depth, lighting was the same in all indoor photos, not enough action shot, everyone is poised)
-Crucial photos missing (not enough ring bearer/flower girl photos) and only 1 photo of my brother who was our officiant and marrying us!
-Didn't feel like he did what was needed/go the extra mile
Compared to the gorgeous photos that I've seen my friends have from their weddings, I felt that Photo Souvenir did the bare minimum. If you can afford it, pay a few thousand dollars to have a better photographer come in from Santo Domingo or bring one from home.
