The process of planning a destination wedding can seem a little daunting at times but I truly felt at ease through the process because Patty (WTA) took care of everything. Pros: easy and fast communication, reliable, responsive, organized
After much back and forth, we decided to use a travel agent. At first, we thought our guests would have been able to get a better deal themselves, by searching online. While this may or may not have been the case, for us, having a point person to keep track of all our guests' itineraries was one of the best decisions we made. In the end, our guests got a fair deal, and if they had waited too long to book on their own, they would have paid way more than what we all paid using a travel agent.

When we started planning our wedding at Le Blanc in Cancun Mexico I contacted Wendy from Wright TA. Right away I felt comfortable working with her, she is so sweet and knowledgeable. I have recently started to plan my destination wedding in Punta Cana for August of next year and so far, using Patty's service has been the best decision we have made! She is always so prompt to respond to my emails, always answers all my questions, and is VERY knowledgeable!
I did not rate them on value or performance just for the simple fact that I still have not closed with a resort, so I cannot evaluate their work on those areas yet, but I can tell that I won't be disappointed!

APatty made my destination wedding worry free. She was always quick to respond to my emails even on the weekends. At first I was a little worried because I live on the east coast and Patty is on the west coast but it was never a problem. In fact the time change was more of a pro because I could call her when I got off work and it was still normal working hours so I never felt bad. I just love this company. They make me feel so at ease and less stressed about planning my big event. Their support is unwavering and their advice had been sound so far. It also helps that they are very well networked with most of the vendors and resorts in my destination of choice (Riviera Maya). I highly recommend giving them a chance.

I used Wendy from Wright Travel Agency and she was fantastic to work with. She always responded very quickly to any email I sent her and was very knowledgeable about the resort we had our wedding at. I probably would not have come across the resort we chose if it wasn't for Wendy. I highly recomment using her and I plan on using her for our travel agent in the future!!

Cons: very friendly, helpful and pateint with all of my questions
We used Wendy for our Excellence Riveria Cancun wedding and Secrets Maroma honeymoon. We had 24 people total and she was amazing. Wendy also booked our travel for us. I highly recommend going through her for your wedding. Not only was she really nice and helpful, but she was sooo extremely patient with my questions. Any question I had, she answered within 24 hours(usually less). Everything went so smoothly. She is awesome!!!!!

After contacting a AAA travel agent near me and doing a TON of internet research on trip advisor, BDW.com, AAA, etc. I decided to contact Wright Travel to see if they could provide insight on my destination wedding resort vision. I knew I wanted to be in the Playa del Carmen area, but there are so many amazing hotels down there I was going crazy and even started a spreadsheet with pricing, pros, cons, etc.

We used Wendy Hicks with Wright Travel and everything was great. I started talking with Wendy June, 2011 just by completing a request form from Wright Travel. My Wife and I moved to Buffalo, NY a few years ago with all of our other family members spread out in Iowa. Every one was very happy with Wendy and how easy it was to get their rooms booked. Neither Jami or myself had to answer any questions from any of our guests and they were always able to get their answers from Wendy.

I contacted Wendy Hicks with Wright Travel after seeing good reviews on this site. Wendy was very knowledgeable with first hand experience of the various venues we were interested in for our wedding in Cancun on 4/21/12. Wendy booked all the hotel rooms and transfers for our wedding party of 32 and also booked our site visit to the resort in advance of the wedding and for a better price that I could get even with my airline employee discount. Pros: Great rate! Awesome communication! Personal service!
From the get go my fiancée and I knew we wanted a destination wedding. We wanted the beach, great service, yummy food and all our friends and family by our sides. We wanted it to be fun, no stress, and easy to plan. Sounds great! But how do you get 38 people from all over the United States, with different needs and requests, to the same place for one week, let alone pick a resort? That sort of coordination entailed much more care and detail than simply booking through an internet travel site.

Sadly, I am a Canadian bride, and Wright is currently a USA-only agency :( However, I was further impressed when Tammy said she would pass my info along to another TA who would be able to help me. Wendy was great to work with. Wendy contacted the two resorts that we were interested in and negotiated our group rates with them for us. Wendy assisted our guests with their travel arrangements and one guest needed a great deal of help so her assistance was greatly appreciated! Wendy responded quickly to my emails and took the time to answer my many questions. I highly recommend her as she is quite knowledgeable and experienced with assisting with destination weddings.

I definitely couldn't get reservations done the way we had to have them without Wendy! She worked with our confusing travel arrangements, with last minute reservations, and even last minute changes in some guests' travels. Wendy was always so prompt with her responses and just amazing and easy to work with. She even called us in Mexico to check how everything was going (we had a hurricane heading our way)! Great rates, great personable service, and just amazing all around.

We got married on July 15th at the Grand Palladium White Sand resort in Riviera Maya. We had a blast. Many thank to Wendy Hicks who helped me throughout my whole wedding planning process. Wendy was very knowledgeable about a lot of the resorts in Mexico. She helped me narrow down resorts to see which ones matched my needs.She handled all of my guests hotel rooms and payments and transportation. I found Wendy Hicks on this site (BDW) She was the first TA that I spoke with that truly knew the answers for booking a destination wedding. Before finding Wendy, I spoke with at least 5 different agents and none were as attentive and knowledgeable about my location/resort. She was very accommodating and quick to answer any questions that we had. Everyone from our party ended up using Wendy to book their trip.

Wendy Hicks was our third TA we had been in contact and originally I was hesitant because she is on the opposite coast as I am. She quickly got rid of all of my concerns.
