I am Juan Navarro and it is an honor to be your wedding photographer. What you should really know about me is that I am madly in love with what I do. I feel really blessed to have found a passion that moves me in such a way than anything else I have experienced before.

Having the great responsibility of shooting your wedding has made me respect my job even more, since I will have no chance to do it again. I love living with you all the emotions you go through on this big day and most of all being able to give you the chance to have these memories for a lifetime, to cherish and enjoy. What I like to shoot most is the very unique moments full of emotion and love that will happen during your wedding.

If you asked me right now, I wouldn´t be doing anything else in the whole world!

More about me…

I was born in Mexico City, studied Business Management and then turned to be a stockbroker when I decided to move to Cancun. Being a wedding photographer has filled all the expectations I could have; it gives me more adrenaline and excitement than even the stock exchange!

I could describe myself as a very active person; I cannot stand still. I love learning new things and tricks about my job, and about my second best passion, which is cooking. I feel very relaxed in the kitchen creating new things for my family (which I have been told my wife enjoys a lot!) What makes me very happy is sharing with my two daughters my passion. They both are starting to like shooting pictures as I do. It is amazing when you can share something you really like doing with the people you care the most.

I started in the photography business at the Secrets Excellence Riviera Cancun resort when I did all the photography for the resort except for the weddings. One day a wedding coordinator asked me to shoot a wedding held at the hotel. And there is where I fell in love with wedding photography and haven't stopped since. As I got busier my company started growing being in-house photographers for resorts such as Riu Palace, Riu Caribe, Gran Caribe Real, Riu Cancun, Secrets Capri, Dreams Cancun, Dreams Riviera, Excellence Riviera Cancun, Excellence Playa Mujeres, Now Jade (former NH Puerto Morelos) and Secrets Maroma Beach.

Offering the best quality has always been a priority for me thus I acquire the best equipment available and work with an assistant so no important moment during the wedding gets unaccounted for.

I have taken my profession so seriously and I am so passionate about it that I have even learned how to dive to be able to shoot underwater sessions and bought the necessary equipment for it.

I have dedicated some time to prepare myself and to always learn new things by attending workshops some photographers I admire have given such as Citlali Rico, Andres Parro, Sergio Photographer, Kelly Rashka, Hiram Trillo , Foundation Workshop in Mexico 2012 with Huy Nguyen, Erin Chrsiman and Andrew Mejia and ready for Tyler Wirken workshop.

From anything I have worked at before nothing compares to wedding photography. I feel very fortunate to work doing what I love the most!

Pros: Personable, Incredible Value, Creative Eye, Awesome Product
Cons: None!
This is long overdue, so I'm going to keep this short and sweet.   We cannot recommend Juan, and his assistant Arturo, enough. They know what they are doing, and it shows. They even stayed with us an extra 1.5 hours over the 6 hour package that we booked for our wedding. Everyone loved them, and I think they had a great time, too. We loved Juan's creative side. The photos he creates are awesome and add a little something different, in addition to the more traditional shots. We received everyth
AMAZING! AFFORDABLE! CAPTURED EVERY SPECIAL MOMENT! AFFORDABLE! AFFORDABLE! ACCOMMODATING! LOVE THEM!   I am writing this review on behalf of Freddy Ku with Juan Navarro's Photography.  I must say, planning a destination wedding can be very difficult.  However, photography was not an issue.  Juan's company was recommended to me by another Cancun photographer, then Juan recommended Freddy who works with him.  My fiancé' and I are an African-American couple from New York, and we have a lot of trad
Pros: Experienced, Creative, Professional, and Extraordianary photos!!
Cons: none
We couldn't be happier with Juan's services at our wedding, trash the dress session, and the moments he captured! Take a look at his photos and you will see how amazing his work truly is.   Before the big day: Juan was happy to discuss any questions about the photography timeline before us arriving in Cancun. He is a local, and knows the area and way things work in Cancun so was very helpful. When we first arrived in Cancun Juan took the time to meet with us at our hotel and to discuss the log

Pros: professional, talented, friendly, resonably priced, amazing photos
Cons: None at all
From our first contact with Juan Navarro via email, to the moment that we received our photos, Juan was nothing but a true professional. He listened to our ideas, came up with his own ideas and worked with us to get the perfect photos that we had wished for. Juan speaks English very well and has a great personality that I think is very important in his line of work to ensure that there are smiles all around! He made us feel very much at ease and we trusted him 100%, that he would produce some am

AI hired juan to shoot my wedding last summer at Dreams cancun. I chose Juan after researching many destination wedding photographers and Juan had the best reviews. I quickly realized why Juan had such great reviews! Juan was a pleasure to work with from the beginning! He responded to all my emails quickly and was able to negotiate prices as well as time frame for photos! The pictures are truly out of this world! Everyone who looks at our wedding album comments how amazing the pictures are! I
Pros: Easy to work with, responsive, FUN, unique
Cons: Nada!
My husband and I were married at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa Resort in Puerto Morelos Mexico, and we hired Juan and his crew to shoot a trash the dress session in a Cenote in Tulum - by far some of the best money we have spent!!!     The planning process itself with Juan was great - he and his team are very responsive and organized - we emailed back and forth about details and question/concerns that I had and anything that I needed to know was answered in a timely and professional ma

Pros: Quick at email replies
Cons: Did not give good direction during group photos, poor image quality, below average photography skills
We received our photos about 5 weeks after our wedding as per the contract. We received a total of 200 photos (5 hours of shooting) on a CD.  We expected more photos as he had an assistant there shooting as well.  The photos were all unprintable as they were thumbnail sized quality.  The photos were so highly compressed, they looked grainy and showed compression artifacts.  We noticed that only a handful of our photos (bride and groom photos) were edited with special effects.  The rest of the ph
Pros: Punctual; Price; Location Knowledge; Style
Cons: 8 weeks to get pictures
Cenote - Trash the Dress Session - April 30, 2013, Photographer: Juan Navarro   We choose Juan after extensive research and reading reviews. We were extremely confident with our selection based on +positive reviews. Juan arrived on time and had an extremely professional team with him. Our location was superb and session was amazing. Few things to note:    Juan typically returns emails early AM. So if you message him after 9AM CT you'll get it returned the next day. This is his norm
Pros: quick to respond to emails, captures emotions that tell the story of your wedding day, ARTIST!
Cons: nothing - he is the best at what he does!
Juan Navarro is to put it simply - THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER IN CANCUN.   Originally I had hired the photography service through the resort we were staying at (Ocean Coral & Turquesa), but after looking through their out-dated photography website, I felt like I was paying for something I didn't want. I found Juan through just Googling photographers in Mexico, weddings at ocean coral... and boy, am I glad I found him!   First off, planning a destination wedding is very difficult as so

Pros: Responsive & quick turn around, professional, knows what he is doing,
Cons: Nothing!
One of the best decisions I made was hiring Juan for my wedding! He spoke perfect English and was very personable and easy to work with. He came with an assistant that was also great. He knew I was worried about having enough light so really tried to get our pictures in and kept saying "I am sorry I am rushing, I just want to get your pictures in before its dark". He did several couple pictures first, then the group pictures, and finished off with more couple pics in the dark.   We did sev

This review is WAY overdue (so sorry Juan & team!).    My husband & I got married @ the Excellence Riviera Cancun on Friday, 06/29/12 and we used Juan Navarro as our photographer.  We also did a Cenote Trash The Dress session with Juan on the Monday following our wedding.   We can not express our gratitude enough or explain in words how much we love our pictures.   Planning a wedding away from "home" is inherently a little stressful... the lack of control is a little sc

Pros: Too Many To List!
Cons: N/A
So many things to say, where do I start? Let me start by saying that I didn't not choose a photographer lightly. I talked to more photographers than I can even begin to list. Emails after emails, I looked at so many portfolios, considered lots of price ranges, and then someone recommended that I talk to Juan. I was so happy to have found him, he had an awesome portfolio and fit perfectly into my budget. He was very easy to talk to and get a hold of. If you have any questions he answered them nor

Pros: Helpful, Unobtrusive
Cons: Missed important shots, long delay in getting pics
I chose Juan Navarro based on positive reviews on this site and his competitive prices. He arrived on time and was very helpful during the event.  I gave him the direction that I liked candid shots and photojournalistic style photography - none of the cheesy, too posed stuff for me!  We still planned to do some nice portrait shots on the beach and with my family inside.  During the portrait shots I started to get a little nervous because he did not give me any direction on what poses worked and

Pros: Amazing pictures!
Cons: None
Tony Rues from Juan Navarro was my photographer and I was more than impressed with his work. The pictures speak for themselves. I was a bit hesitant when I found out that Juan was booked for my wedding date, but I could not be any more happy with what I received. He was very professional and made us feel comfortable. Great price as well. I can't wait for my photo album!

Pros: Beautiful pictures, pleasure to work with
Cons: None
May 22nd 2012 - Grand Palladium Colonial, Riviera Maya   I had found Juan Navarro on this site, and based on his work, reasonable prices and dedication we decided to hire him as our photographer.  After corresponding with him through email, I realized how much passion Juan has for his work.  He wanted to get a feel for my husband and I, how we met, our background, what we are looking for in our wedding pictures.  He was great to communicate with prior to our wedding day in Mexico, he asked

We used Juan as our wedding photographer for our wedding at the Now Jade Riviera Cancun on April 17th, 2012. I am not a picky bride - and had no trouble figuring out what I wanted for our wedding. I wasn't stressed about details or anything. That being said - the most important part of the wedding in my opinion was our photos. I wanted a photographer who could capture the smallest and most memorable moments. I don't love posed pictures and was more interested in a journalist style with lots of c

Pros: Creative and Wonderful to Work With
Cons: None
AI was soo sad when I found out Dreams no longer used Juan Navarro as their photographer and I wavered on whether or not I should spend the extra money on an outside vendor and I can honestly say it was the best decision I could have made. Not only is he very creative in the ways he takes photos but he is very kind and great to work with. He went way over and beyond what we asked him for and probably paid for, and the photo books came out amazing. I can't express enough how happy we are. With

Pros: Responsive, Dedicated, Artristic, Affordable, Great Personality, Easy to Work with
Cons: Not one
I could not write a review since there is so many great things to share about Juan Navarro! It all started 2 years before my wedding. We had to plan in advance so that everyone could save money for our destination wedding. Even though my wedding was 2 years out Juan always responded to me immediately. I requested him as a friend on Facebook and he even accepted me. I felt a little like a stalker but wanted to see his work and what other brides had to say. I was so impressed with his blog and cou
Pros: Good price, good communication, friendly
Cons: Nothing.....I wish we had him for an extra hour!
I was not sure how to find a good photographer for our wedding at Secrets Maroma beach. I was hesitant to work with the resort photography, so I ended up looking at reviews on BDW's and Juan's name was ranked and had good reviews. It just so happened that he was also the recommended resort photography.  We decided to go with him and we are very happy that we did.  He was very easy to communicate with via email and he was able to do everything we wanted to and for a good price. I only wish we had
Pros: Great pricing, amazing photos, warm personalities, fast delivery
Cons: NONE!
From the beginning of my wedding planning, photography was THE most important aspect to us, as far as wedding vendors and details go. After the wedding day, all you have left (besides the spouse and the memories!) are your pictures and/or video. Plus, keep in mind, everyone tells you that the day goes by so fast, well that is an understatement. Not only does it go by fast, but it is a whirlwind, and there are so many moments that you "forget". Well, thanks to Juan and his team, every moment of o

Pros: Everything!

We got married at the Excellence Playa Muejres on April 28, 2012... Juan was absolutely amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. Everyone who has seen our wedding pictures have told me that it looks like a fake background. We have been told numerous times that they are the best wedding picures they have ever seen.  Juan and his assistant were so helpful, when our wedding planner was MIA, he was so nice and offered his assistance on anything we might need.  The price was great, t

Pros: Professional, on time, communicates well, quick service
Cons: none
We used Juan Navarro for our wedding on March 22, 2012 at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa resort. He was so wonderful to work with! The pictures were one of the things I was most worried about, but after using Juan realized I didn't need to worry at all! He was easy to communicate with, always got back to us quickly, arrived right on time and was very prepared on our wedding day with his assistant Daniel. I had emailed him the ideas of pics I wanted ahead of time, and he knew exactly what we want

Pros: Knows and loves his Job
Cons: None.
My husband and I have just returned from our wedding at the Grand Riviera Princess and we were lucky enough to have Juan as our Photographer and Daniel as his assistant. They were amazing! Juan loves his job and it shows in his actions and words. He talks about capturing the moments, and that is exactly what we are all looking for in a phtographer. Juan was warm, and never pushy. He sees that picture that would work the best and makes it work. He is so into his job that he an Daniel were rolling

Pros: Very professional, fun, good communication, worth every penny!!
Cons: none
Juan and Daniel took our wedding photos at Moon Palace Cancun, March 34, 2012. I can't sing their praises enough. They were amazing, very comfortable to work with and the photos turned out amazing.   I booked him about 8 months in advance. Included 3 hours, 2 photographers, photobook with 75 pictures and the CD of all the photos and rights to the. We paid a deposit to book and then the remainder after the wedding. We paid through paypal, which we just prefer, he had other options. Juan mad
Pros: Great communication, awesome photographer, captured the most beautiful pictures, 3 photographers photographed my wedding, professional, great attitude
This review is long over due.    I got married at the Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico on April 30th, 2011.  I used Juan Navarro Photography based off of reviews from BDW.COM.  At first I was a little worried about selecting a photographer that I've never met.  But I took a chance.  Seriously, an photography angel must of been looking out for me because this was the best decision I had made.  I contacted Juan via email and he responded that same day providing me all the necessary information
