Pros: Service, Pools
Cons: Water at the beach
We eloped here in March and were overall very impressed with the customer service, pools and luxury amenities. We are private people and Banyan Tree very much caters to that. We hired a minister (Cancun Ministers, who I liked) to perform our ceremony on the beach, then later we had photographers (Bohemia Photography, whom I highly recommend) come and take our couples photos on the beach afterwards. The grounds of the resort are spectacular - but I'm taking off one star because the beach is rocki

Pros: Service, Accomodations, Venues, Food
My wife and I knew from the beginning of our engagement that we had our heart set on a destination wedding. We were very picky and very particular about where we wanted to have it since we had a huge wedding planned (over 300 invitees which ended up being 150 guests.) We did a lot of research and decided to have it in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. After visiting a few resorts in that area last year, we both knew the minute we saw the Banyan Tree that we had to have our wedding there....... and we ar

Pros: Stunning, gorgeous resort. Amazing Staff!
We traveled to BT last fall to scout the wedding venue. We were originally planning with Rosewood Mayakoba, however it turned out they have some crazy policies to commit to amount of guests, which to me is impossible to do on a destination wedding. Banyan Tree welcomed all of our requests and changes from the start and through the end of planning. Their coordinator at the time Katherine, started my planning, and later Brenda and Karina took over, and carried out all the requests and planning to

Pros: Resort, private, food, music, service, attention to detail
Cons: affordability
There are two reasons I am writing this review about my wedding at Banyan: 1) It was amazing and Katherine Heisinger (our wedding coordinator at Banyan was extremely helpful!) and 2) I owe it to other brides out there looking for options as it was very helpful for me to read other brides's reviews.     I had about three months to plan my wedding so I had to do everything pretty quick and needed people to be responsive and to deliver when they said they would. This is obviously different for

Pros: michele salazar (our experience concierge), private pool villas, staff, staff, staff!, everything!
Cons: the only con is that i can't live at the banyan tree year round
When my husband and i decided to have a "destination wedding", we researched property on every island and in mexico... a friend of ours told us he'd been to the Banyan Tree Bangkok and that the service, beauty and splendor of the hotel itself was unmatched.  Having just opened about 8 or 9 months before the date we wanted to be married, we were hard pressed to find people who'd been there...  however, the website alone sold us...  although, i don't know that i was wholly convinced that the Banya
