Cons: Limited photography packages choices for smaller weddings
I was looking for a very low key yet meaningful vow renewal ceremony and Le Blanc was able to deliver this and met all of my expectations.  I'm writing this because this website has helped me so much in my planning so hopefully I can help other vow renewal brides.   I've been to a lot of nice hotels but Le Blanc has got to be in my top three most favorite.  I know everyone has gushed and raved about the details on how AMAZING this hotel is so I won't elaborate.  But being that I LOVED this place so much, it just made our vow renewal ceremony that much more special.   I was in contact with a wedding coordinator (Paola) months before the date of the ceremony.  We established over email all of the little details...location...flowers...cake...etc.  Communication was excellent.  She understood that we wanted our ceremony to be very simple and intimate.     Once we arrived at the hotel, she met with us in person before the ceremony as well just to go over details.  They really go over and beyond to make sure everything is perfect for you.   We met with our officiant a few minutes before the ceremony.  I'm glad we got to do this because it was important to me to connect with her and for her to get to know us.  She was a sweetheart.  Her presence is very positive and encouraging.  Because of her, we got the vow renewal ceremony we wanted.  It was really just a moment for my husband and I to share and to acknowledge the last 10 years and our officiant understood this and led the ceremony PERFECTLY.   We chose to have the ceremony under the gazebo.  We were there in August and the sun was way too hot on the beach, otherwise I probably would have done it at the beach.  My bouquet was beautiful and perfect...ALL roses.  No ugly filler flowers.    Le Blanc provides the officiant, bouquet and boutonniere, and cake.  We opted out of their photographer package because it didn't fit with the simplicity of our day.  The most cost effective packages were meant for a full wedding day which was not our situation.  And unfortunately Le Blanc does not allow outside vendors.  Nonetheless, we were able to get a few shots of our day!

Hello all, TA Wendy here, from Wright Travel and here on the Forum!   While I did not get married myself at Le Blanc Spa Resort, I have visited and stayed 4 times now, and assisted with perhaps 20 wedding groups here. It is one of my very favorite resorts in all of Cancun/ Riviera Maya!   My most recent visit was in early April, 2013 for 4 nights. For this stay I had room 719, with 2 double beds, which is listed as a partial ocean view, but actually had the most wonderful view of the ocean possible!   Here is my review of the resort and tips and pointers for anyone considering Le Blanc for your Destination Wedding. I want to assure any brides considering Le Blanc that from start to finish you will experience service that in my opinion is unequaled by any resort in the area.   Le Blanc is 25 minutes from the Cancun airport. Most all packages will include your transfer from and back to the airport as part of your stay. Le Blanc has 260 rooms and a total of 9 floors, making it of medium size, and not a real high rise.. just right!   Upon arrival guests are greeted at the curb with a cool towel, and a refreshing glass of Coconut milk, and while at check in the ladies are presented with a spray of flowers. While completing check in, a warmed neck wrap often magically appears to sooth necks and shoulders that may be tight and tired from travel.   It is possible you may see the ubiquitous General Manager Andreas Schmidt here in the lobby or if not, you will most certainly see him around and about the resort at some point during your stay.. as General Manager he seems to know all there is to know about the goings on of the hotel and needs of the guests, and is tremendously accommodating to any special needs a guest may express.   Once checked in, you are escorted to the atrium shaped tower where the rooms are located, a beautiful pyramid shaped open area with rooms surrounding it. This atrium can be kept as a possible location for wedding should the weather turn and a wedding need to be moved indoors. It is a lovely and serene setting.   Rooms are generous in size, and have amenities that include- either 1 king or 2 double beds, a double jacuzzi tub, Chi hair dryer and flat iron for hair, and in some of the rooms the amenities are Bulgari soaps and shampoos. Towels are large, plush and top quality. There is a pillow menu to select from.. (I recommend the buckwheat / lavender pillow!) The in room refrigerator is stocked with snacks and drinks, and the in room liquor dispenser is filled with a variety of liquors. A couple of things to note about the room amenities that can be quite handy are that there is very good and complimentary internet access, and also phone calls from your room to the US are included and unlimited. A very nice thing if you need to check in with home or make other calls back to the US. Each room has an in room safe, coffee maker, and comes with bathrobes and slippers for your use as well as additional handy items such as an iron and umbrella just in case!   Your floor butler will greet you and offer you any and all assistance. The sorts of things that a butler will do for you include assisting with unpacking if you like, draw a bath, answer travel questions and more. There is now a Le Blanc App for your cell phone and with that you can contact your butler right from your lounge chair by the pool! The things that our wonderful butler Israel y Jesus did for us this visit included having aroma therapy going in our room each evening.. so coming back after dinner or being out and about the room smelled lovely. He also assisted me by searching out and booking a rental car I needed for an evening trip I had to make to drive to Playa Del Carmen. He compared prices of renting a car, with private transfer, then set up the reservation for me and had the rental car company pick me up at Le Blanc. Going above and beyond, he also gave me his personal cell phone number, saying that although he would be home with his family, if any emergency arose while I was making the late evening drive back from Playa Del Carmen I should feel free to call him. This was far above any expectations I could have had, and gave me great peace of mind to know that there was someone to call if I needed assistance on the road. Amazing and very kind, and typical of the level of service here! Israel also reconfirmed our flight times, and pick up for transfer back to the airport, and arranged a light box lunch for us to take with us to the airport. Guests who return home from their stays at Le Blanc are sure to go through Butler Withdrawl!!   With regards to the restaurants at Le Blanc, there is Blanc International, for wonderful breakfast, Buffet Lunch that is amazing, with wonderful selections, and an LA la Carte Dinner. Blanc Italia for Italian food for dinner - Wonderful! Blanc Orient for dinner- Great sushi Cart!! Blanc Lumier - dinner for French Food and a tasting menu of 6 courses that is not to be missed.. this restaurant is semi formal... Blanc Terrace with a brick pizza oven and wonderful snacks and light lunch As well as other smaller spots around the resort for snacks and drinks.   Be prepared that when you step out to find a lounge chair by the pool you will be met by a pool attendant who will not only unfurl your towel for you, but quickly bring a lovely ice bucket with bottles of cool water, and offer cucumber slices and a cool towel for your eyes... as the day passes you will notice the butlers coming by with offers of popscicles and cool treats as well as bar service with some truly amazing tropical drinks! (Dont miss the Bob Marley!)   Weddings are often held in the Gazebo near the beach area.. it looks a bit small but when chairs are set up and everything ready to go there is more than enough room. Other possible locations include on the beach, the 3rd floor terrace or near the lagoon area. You cannot miss with any of the locations here.. they are all completely beautiful. ... and of course there is always ball room space as a back up or if an outdoor reception is not desired. The wedding coordinators here are true experts, and your wedding will be impeccable and beautiful, so no need to stress at all...   Also a must not miss is the Spa... Oh, the wonders of the Le Blanc Spa!! They have a great water circuit, so for anyone booking a massage, (which I highly recommend), please remember to arrive about an hour early so you can experience the sauna, steam room, and various water circuit pools... and for those who want something a little different dont miss the Fish Spa! I have not personally used the hair salon or makeup services, but for the brides who I have worked with who have, they report wonderful service and results!   All in all, Le Blanc is really a top choice for those who want the best in so many ways. Le Blanc Spa Resort (Honeymoon Review)   This is us.  We are a young interracial couple and whatever first impressions come with it.  Our experience (in Cancun) was littered with disappointment based on the way we look (as you will read in my review of Le Blanc and Moon Palace) despite having 11 years of history together.    Fact Sheet Our Room: 804 (originally 523) Honeymoon Stay: Thursday June 21 – Tuesday June 26, 2012 Travel Agent: Melissa @ Beach Bum Vacations   Weather (Grade not applicable... but it was terrible). Locals said that the rainy season came early this year.  It rained 4/5 days during our honeymoon stay and I almost went mad.  There are very few indoor activities you can do when it is pouring rain outside.    Resort Overall: A- Very small compared to Moon Palace.  It is like an intimate hotel located on the main Cancun strip.  So it’s in the middle of a bustling city life (if this is the kind of getaway you like).  Five main restaurants to choose from all with fabulous food (see reviews below).  There are a total of 9 floors, top floor are the presidential suites.  Incredible views from any room, really.  The people at the resort are always open and friendly.  Looks-wise, the quality of the resort seems clean and impeccable.  Though I am not sure they are prepared for their rainy seasons.  During our stay, there were many buckets in the halls and restaurants used to catch dripping water from the ceiling.  There were also towels shoved into wall crevices and window panes to help absorb all the rain water. It was also leaking in our room (see rooms experience review below).   Le Blanc has nightly entertainment in the lobby.  There was always some sort of classical music when we passed by.  I loved it and wish I had more time to sit and appreciate the beauty of it. Every night, the butlers left the itinerary of everything that will happen the next day!   Check-In: A+ When we arrived at Le Blanc, I truly felt like I was in heaven!  We were greeted with cold towels, a flower and coconut milk upon arrival. Check-in went very smoothly and when Tomas appeared from behind us, I think that’s when I fell in love with the resort.  We did not have to wait and was escorted right away to our room. This is the photo of the hotel atrium.   Rooms Experience: B Room Quality (Layout, finishes, view): A+ It was our honeymoon so I was a little disappointed in the first room we got.  No complaints about the view or the floor height, but Room 523 was full of problems and in hindsight, I am actually quite annoyed that we were put in this room in the first place. Right off the bat, the safe was not working.  Tomas had to bring up someone from security to fix it.  Secondly, our thermostat was broken.  There was no way to change the air-conditioning in the room.  And thirdly, our room was leaking.  The window was not caulked properly to the wall so water came in from outside.  Our bed felt damp (but we chalked it up to humidity).  When I requested a different room or room upgrade, I was again told that there was no availability.  It wasn’t until I told them about the leaky room and other issues did anyone try to move us.   We had ALREADY dealt with this issue coming from our wedding at Moon Palace and I was just incredibly frustrated that we had to deal with it again at Le Blanc. At Moon Palace, it took almost 4 days and a pre-wedding breakdown before they moved us.  At Le Blanc, they were VERY reluctant to move me until I became distressed and told them all the things that were wrong with the room. However, they acted quickly and moved us the next day.   The next day, we were moved to room 804 (a honeymoon suite).  The view was SO much nicer from the higher floor and facing the ocean overlooking the pool.  There was one closet only in this room (two in our first room) but I was so happy, I didn’t mind at all. Everything was working properly in this room.  But the bed sheet STILL felt damp.  My husband and I had this experience in all four rooms between our Moon Palace stay and Le Blanc so we chalked it up to the humid climate... but none of our guests said their beds felt that way... so I am still at a loss of what to think.   I want to finish this part of the review on a positive note because I really did like our new room.  There was nightly turn-down service and aromatherapy offered (which I took full advantage of daily).  We tried that “relaxing” aromatherapy I think it was lavender (it was okay), but we really like the “revitalizing” aromatherapy with eucalyptus and mint.  We like this one so much we used it for the remainder of our stay.  The citrus/lemon scent in the lobby is also very nice. There is an IPOD dock available in every room. The butlers come in the evening to set your room up for bed. I loved coming into the room in the evening after dinner to the serene music of Hans Zimmer!! And every morning waking up to that view of the ocean... no matter how rainy or sad I felt on our honeymoon, made me feel better and approach the day with new positive vibes. The honeymoon suite is absolutely amazing! I was very impressed by the lighting system in the rooms (turned on my key card and closet lights turning on when you open the door).  So I would say the room quality is great, but I was not happy with the fact they put us in a lower quality room to begin with.   Service: A The reason this is an A is because of the butlers and the bellmen.  They were INCREDIBLE.  I loved Tomas, Luis and Alex!  They truly made our stay so comfortable (and they are SO good at their jobs).  I was so tired after moving around, I asked Tomas and Luis to unpack for us.  Upon returning from dinner, all my clothes were folded, hung and organized in the closet and in the drawers.  Now THAT is heaven.  I wish I could come home to that every day!! Our butlers were instrumental in helping us figure out what to do with our credits, re-booking things due to weather and renting a car for a day (Fernando helped with that one). They went out of their way to find us the best local deals and engaged in conversation like were their only clients. My husband and I talked to Alex for some time and he made us feel like we were the only ones in the world that mattered.  When we were walking away, my husband looked back and noticed Alex almost running to his next task.  We felt so bad for making him do that but all so much more appreciative of his service and attention. Our butlers even noticed when we didn’t try a particular petit-four so they tried to bring us a different tasting one the next day! Honestly, the stress buildup from our wedding and the horrible honeymoon weather made me so upset, but I was so grateful for the butlers’ and their service.  It really made my stay.   Juan the bellman also went above and beyond for me and my husband.  We didn’t get a chance to see him the day before we left to give him a larger tip (in case our thank you note didn’t get to him).  Also in this photo, you can kind of see the towel that a bucket was on to catch the dripping water from the ceiling.   The wait staff in the restaurants were very friendly and attentive. Bartenders and beach attendants were also great.  Spa staff were also kind and hospitable. Hosts and hostesses were okay.  In the room book, it did not specify that Lumiere needed a reservation, so we arrived without one.  We were told that they were full for the rest of the night by the hostess and turned away.  We went back to the concierge and they told us a slot was available in 15 minutes and proceeded to book it.  I was disappointed by how this was handled by Lumiere. Front desk was great at check-in but gave me the same round-about excuses Moon Palace did when we asked for a room change.    So overall, Le Blanc did live up to its incredible service (mainly because of the butlers) but improvements could be made by front desk staff and restaurant hosts.   WEDDINGS Though we did not get married at Le Blanc (because we had kids in the bridal party), I was seriously considering it.  But when we were there, I was SO HAPPY I did NOT get married at the gazebo there.  It is incredibly SMALL and tucked in the side of the resort beside a small pool (that looks like a hot tub but isn't... it was also full of dead bugs). If I were to get married at Le Blanc, I would choose to be married on the beach 100%. Just a heads up for brides considering Le Blanc for weddings.  It does NOT look as nice as the photo. The aisle is curved... The photo below?  That is as far back as the photographer can go because behind him is a wall.  To the right of the photo is another wall.  Everyone enters through the left.   Spa: A- On one of the rainy day, I went for the Serenity massage.  A day later, we did the Romantic Couples massage (which is exactly identical to the Serenity).  You choose between 3 scent; lavender, green tea or grapefruit.  Obviously these are not registered massage therapists so the quality of the massage itself was only so-so.  The atmosphere of the spa and the service was great. I wanted to try out the Fish Spa but didn't get the chance. I enjoyed my stay overall though I do wish that someone could have further told me my options there.  What other free service could I have taken advantage of before or after my massage?  The masseuses were always professional (no one talked over us or to each other during our session as I had read in another review).   Pools: A+ Beach: A Both the pool and the ocean were warm (The pool more so here than then sea water after the storm).  It was very serene at both the pools and by the beach, never crowded. The water here is SO beautiful (compared to Moon Palace).  The sand is not as soft as Moon Palace but there are seashells.  There is also seaweed but it’s not that bad at all. This is the best picture I have of the pool (bottom corner).  It's very beautiful.   Restaurants & Food   blancinternational: A+ INCREDIBLE! Seriously better than The Keg! I ordered the center cut filet mignon and it practically MELTED in my mouth.  I am not typically a meat person and I don’t exaggerate, but the beef was the best I’ve had in my entire life. The sides that come with it are average (veggies could use salt, potatoes are ... well potatoes).  I decided to be adventurous and asked for the red-pepper béarnaise sauce and it was perfection! The crab cake appetizer and the crab bisque soup; sublime! And don’t forget the apple pie to finish it off!  We opted to skip our romantic lobster dinner to eat here TWICE.  Make sure you get the filet cooked medium.  My husband got his medium-rare and it was a bit charcoal-y. We ate at blancinternational quite often for breakfast and lunch too! (I am SO sorry, I don't have a photo of the filet mignon... I was so busy eating it both times I totally forgot!!) This is blancinternational breakfast.   blancinternational dinner: apple pie     blancitalia : A Service was good, food presentation was great.  The pasta was okay (not spectacular) but the beef carpaccio and tiramisu were delicious.  (No photo.  The ambiance was SO quiet, I felt really bad for pulling out my camera. I could hear everyone's conversations.)   blancorient: A- I eat oriental food on a daily basis, so I am biased and critical (Vietnamese rolls, Pad thai, etc).  My husband, however, LOVED the blancorient.  He really enjoyed the sashimi (which I also thought was the best dish).  All dinner items were okay, typical of what you could expect of Americanized Asian cuisine (did not seem authentic but wasn’t bad). There was a bamboo flutist when we were there and the music was lovely.   blancterrace: A Lunch on a sunny day is great on the terrace overlooking the ocean.  Service was a little slow (only one server working when we were there). Calzone is delicious and so is the bruschetta and antipasto del mar. They bring your drinks from the sports bar inside. The view is INCREDIBLE.   Lumiere: A As expected, food quality and service were great.  As mentioned previously, the reservation process and hostess could have done better.  I loved all the dishes, but if I had to choose between Lumiere or blancinternational for dinner again, I’d choose the latter. Also, there is a way to get to Lumiere INSIDE.  It was raining so I did not feel like walking through the water in my Louboutins.  So they took us through blancinternational to get there.   Room Service – B+ Breakfast was okay if you had a late night and need some privacy in the morning.  I would much prefer to go down to blancinternational for breakfast.  Never tried lunch or dinner room service.   Cabana Service – B+ Just like room service it took about 30 – 40 min to get to us after we ordered.  The small bites menu is what we ordered from (selection was okay). Ceviche was also okay (typical) but I really like the crispy salmon!! The service was great.  We were in a rush so I wish we could have ordered more!   Resort Credits: C- One of the most frustrating parts of our destination wedding was spending resort credits.  No matter how prepared I thought I was going to Cancun, be ready to spend up to an hour at a time dealing with bookings/reservations of things to spend your credits on.  It was incredibly difficult to use the credits during the 5 day stay.  The best things to use them on are tours & activities.  They have a binder full of things you can do, but the majority of them are NOT resort credit applicable.    You can use your credits for salon/spa but those run out pretty quickly.  Also be aware that there is now a cap on the number of credits you can use for the dolphin swim (ugh). You can use up to $100 credits on cigars, $100 on tequila, $100 on sunglasses, $100 on a pair of running shoes and $100 on silver.  None of those include taxes and all the prices of sunglasses and silver are over $100 anyway.  It was hardly worth it.   At Le Blanc, using the credits on the Cabana rental was one of the best things I spent it on. (see review below). Tours and activities are also great ways to spend credits.  Other than that, it’s pretty useless.  So when it was raining 4/5 days, it was hard to find things to spend credits on. Granted, at Le Blanc, dealing with the reservations desk was definitely smoother and faster than Moon Palace.     Tours & Activities   Cabana Rental: A+ (used resort credits) Best resort credits I spent all vacation!!  It cost just over $100 credits, but you rent it for the full day.  It’s private and you have personal attendants for your every drink and food need!! The view of the ocean from the cabana is incredible. It was the MOST relaxed I’ve been in all the 10 days of being in Cancun!  A MUST DO. They even bring over some lawn chairs in case you feel like tanning! It rained in the evening of the day we rented, but I would have totally continued to bum in there all day if it hadn’t.     Jungle Tour: A- (used resort credits) Aquatwister is fun (group speedboat ride) but it is cold so DO NOT do it on a cooler day.  It will also wash off sunscreen so make sure you reapply it right after before you go snorkeling. For the Jungle Tour, you are in the sun for 3 solid hours!  Make sure you apply and re-apply sunscreen!!  My husband forgot to put some on his knees thinking it was covered by his shorts, but got severely burnt when he was riding the sea-do. The fish and coral reef was beautiful.  Visibility is about 10 – 15ft.  Guides sprinkle some fish food so that the fish will come up closer to tourists. We got seaweed in our sea-do motor on the way back so the guide had to come back for us.  They will provide all the snorkel gear you need.  Just make sure to eat a little because this activity lasted about 3 – 4 hours. Ladies, put your hair up because it will get in the way! They will give you a locker with key if you leave your room key with them.  I was not pleased with the fact that there were ants inside the lockers though.  It was a hassle to get them off my bag and clothing afterward.   Premium Dolphin Swim: A- (used resort credits but be aware that there is a recent “limit” on how much you can spend on this) Transportation is not included.  We were told that the Wet n Wild bus comes back every 20 minutes or so.  We waited about an hour and still nothing.  In the end, we had to take a cab.  Most charge $25 one way to get there but we managed to get a good deal at $12USD one way.  The Dolphinarium was fun, trainers seem to really care about the Dolphins and talked a little about each one.  I would’ve liked a longer time with the dolphins and to learn more about their personalities or something. They DO NOT ALLOW cameras of any kind... and then they also charge $30 per photo.  You can purchase a locker by paying $8USD upfront and upon key return, they will give you back $5USD (however they did this in pesos).   MUSA with diving lesson: A (Not applicable with resort credits) $100 per person The diving lesson went well.  Instructor said I had perfected the skill but since I have a sensitive sinus, the pressure doing down hurt my ears.  She said the normal person equalizes every 3 – 5 ft descending, but I would have to do it after every foot.  It took me about 5 minutes to go down 10 ft!! Scuba diving is not hard at all though!! However, if you are sensitive to pressure in the ears like me, don’t fret!  Once I got into the ocean, it only took me about a minute to get down 30 ft!  The pressure in the ocean is different than in the pool.  It was MUCH easier for me to do it in the sea.  Definitely try it but know your limit.  My husband did perfectly fine in the pool but in the ocean, he took longer to equalize the pressure.  However, the guides were rough with the men, so they tried to just pull him down because he was taking longer than others.  When my husband told me this, I was not happy about it and promised to do a review of it so that others will be aware.  If the guides are rushing you at all, make sure to be assertive.  Don’t try to “suck it up” because those are your ears inside your head you are putting at risk!!   The tour itself was a lot of fun.  It was incredibly beautiful!  We saw a lot of marine life and the coral reef.  I was disappointed that we only ended up seeing TWO statues.  I thought the statues were all together, but they were not.  Be prepared for this.  ALSO remember not to hyperventilate.  Pace yourself; because some people had low air in their tank, we had to come up early.  We had 4 exposures left in our underwater camera there was unused. The lesson was about 1 hour.  The ride out to Isla Mujeres is about 40 minutes one way. The dive itself lasted about 40 minutes. So in total, we started the day at 7:30am and didn’t get back to the resort until almost 3pm.   Kukulcan Mall: B- A fairly standard mall that we went to because it was raining.  If you want to buy souvenirs, it might be best to get it at the mall anyway.  Nothing exceptional. There was an Elvis show on the bottom level.  On the upper level, we found some great art galleries to walk through. Luxury Avenue was only okay.  There were some high end designers like LV, Rolex and Burberry, but then also some mixed in like BCBGMaxazria? Random.   Flea Market: D- This was a complete waste of time.  All the things are priced similar (or more) than the mall.  You get harassed and pestered constantly.  If you’re a woman, forget it.  They don’t bother to really negotiate with you let alone talk to you.  You will get hollered at, whistled at, and generally annoyed by everyone even if you are with your husband. This is where I encountered the most sexism, racism and ageism. There really isn’t anything special you can get here that you can’t get elsewhere anyway.  I would skip this completely.   Coco Bongo: A I was having a terrible start to my honeymoon and my husband knew this.  With the help of one of the bellmen, Juan, he got front table reservations to Coco Bongo!  Coco Bongo is like a giant nightclub.  There are no seats (be prepared to stand all night) and dress like you’re going clubbing!  I originally thought it was a show, so I wore a dress and brought a purse which became a hassle.  The music and the shows were INCREDIBLE, a definite must-do, especially if you’re with the ladies! The only reason this was not an A+ was because of how crowded it became. I was barely able to dance because of all the people there.  A group paid off some bouncers who ended up kicking us off the reserved table for them (we still were allowed to stay in the area) but it was really cramped. But overall, I had so much fun there and really enjoyed the performances! It cost $65 per person (includes open bar).   Vendors   AquaWorld: C We confirmed with the resort that even though it was raining, the Jungle Tour was not cancelled.  So AquaWorld (who runs it) picked us up and dropped us off on location.  Once we got there, our group was told that half of the Jungle Tour was cancelled (saying no snorkeling but we could still go on the Aquatwister).  I asked if we get refunded any credits.  They said no.  I asked to reschedule and the AquaWorld worker told us we could always do it two days later. I agreed and told him to reschedule us.  He said he couldn’t and that I’d have to do it at my resort. When I asked about getting back to the resort, he essentially smiled at me and told me we’d have to walk, bus or taxi back unless we wanted to wait 4 hours for the roundtrip transportation since it was an “independent company”.  I was livid. So in the soaking wet rain, we bused back to the resort only to find out that we were misinformed.  The Sunday slot was full and the only thing available was on Saturday which did NOT include transportation.  I was absolutely offended by the way this situation was handled and will be forwarding a formal complaint to Aquaworld.   The guides on the tours themselves were always funny and knowledgeable. I was always inclined to tip and did when they did an exceptional job, but I was really annoyed by the badgering for tips at the end of each tour. I think asking for tips made me less likely to give them one, or if I did, it would not have been as much as I would have originally given.   Travel Agent – Melissa @ Beach Bum Vacations: A+ Recommended by many brides on the forums, I sought out Melissa from BBV. All the reviews were right!  Melissa was absolutely incredible.  I had a million and one questions (most of which were misdirected) but Melissa was still able to answer ALL of them, always responding quickly.  The wedding planning and honeymoon booking process was SO EASY with Melissa and it was one of the things that I really needed.  I am incredibly picky and need to know all my information upfront before ever making a decision.  I am also very control oriented and usually have to stop myself from micromanaging things.  Melissa got that and really helped me with the process of booking guests and being a liaison between myself and Le Blanc.  The best part of all this is that BBV is free (and I am a Canadian bride)!  Never did I feel second rate because of where I am from or who we are.  I will definitely be using BBV again for future trip planning!   Airline (Westjet): B+ The booking process went well. Some other brides I talked to had said that Westjet hung their wedding dresses up in their closet.  Airport staff also confirmed this.  But when I boarded (both on departure and return) I was told I would not be able to do that.  So I had to put my dress in the overhead compartment. Flight was smooth (and unrelated, I went through customs just fine with my metal spiked shoes too). Westjet did fine, nothing above and beyond.   However, when my guests were returning to Toronto, Westjet had to divert the flight to Hamilton to avoid a large storm.  My guests were supposed to depart at 10am and land at 1pm, but no one got home until almost midnight.  Westjet pilot told passengers that he did not know what was going on.  They ended up getting on a 3 hour bus ride back to the city.  Westjet also failed to provide any sort of food to the passengers.  Only water was offered.   Car Rental (Autosel): D- Our butler sourced a few different car rental companies for us and gave us the company with the lowest price for a Dodge Avenger for $70USD for the day.  On the day of, Autosel shows up with a Dodge Attitude (small) and it ended up costing us $80 not including gas.  They charged my husband and extra $5 on the spot for bringing the vehicle to him... sneaky. In addition, there was a lot of damage on the car already when we got it (we made him document it all) and I didn’t notice until we were driving that there were ants in the car. Overall, we were very displeased with the experience and the quality of Autosel’s rentals. I would not rent from these guys again.   Overall themes of our honeymoon Negatives - bride/groom put in lower quality room - extra and hidden fees - non-inclusive transportation experience - inconsistent pricing - resort credits difficult to spend - humidity made items inside rooms damp - weather (raining 4/5 days)   Positives - smooth airport experience and customs - water is never cold in the pool or ocean - food quality - butlers - variety of tours and activities   Conclusion What I Expected of the Resort Experience: A What I Actually Received through the Resort Experience: B+   The majority of the negative experience comes from the terrible weather during our stay.  All the rain limited our options for tours and activities.  In addition, the rain caused major problems in Le Blanc’s interior.  There was flooding, leaking and dripping everywhere.  Buckets and towels all over the place!! Also, having just left Moon Palace with a similar experience with room problems, I was not impressed at all by how Le Blanc tried to do the same thing with us. If it weren’t for the food and the butlers, I think I would have asked to leave Le Blanc altogether.   One particular thing that bothered me most (in my general stay in Cancun) was that many people greeted my husband first and asked him questions directly without really acknowledging me despite the fact that I was the one giving answers.  Several times I had to assertively interject because I planned the majority of the trip and knew the details and at times I was completely ignored.  Perhaps it was because we looked like a young couple so we are not taken seriously?  Or perhaps it was the assumption that my husband who is tall and Caucasian could likely communicate or know more than myself with an Asian background? Whatever it was (sexism, racism, ageism), even if it was inherent in their culture, I was greatly annoyed. This subliminal exclusion did not go unnoticed, as it was not only perceived by me, but my husband as well. As a result, many times instead of feeling hurt or correcting them, I simply told my husband what to say and gave him the cash to pay/tip just to make things go faster and smoother. People would be constantly appealing to my husband without knowing that I had all the money and made most of the decisions. Again, this is the local experience, not just Le Blanc specific.   One thing I really liked was the complementary tote bag we were given.  I used it A LOT during our stay.  The inside has a waterproof liner so it was very useful for tours and activities.  However, it was torn to shreds from simple wear and tear in the 4 days I used it.  The maid walking by was very generous when I asked if I could have a replacement.   Le Blanc’s saving grace is their amazing view.  No matter how bad things got, the ocean always made me start the day with a positive attitude.  Even when it was stormy, the view is divine! The butlers go above and beyond expectations every time, and the food!  Let’s just say I had a difficult time coming home to cereal and microwave dinners. I am not sure if I would return to Le Blanc.  If not for the weather, I’m sure it would have been a marvelous stay.  But the resort is very small, and we’ve already seen what we could see so I do not know if we will return again.

WE just returned from 2 weeks at Le Blanc and our wedding was June 3, we had about 30 guests with us and it was AMAZING!!!!! I knew it would be and it was....Our on site planner was amazing...Sandra Prieto deserves more than I could ever giver her!! We were her last wedding at Le Blanc as she has been promoted and relocated to another resort!!!! She made everything perfect and was with us all day to cue important moments and coordinate everything from the I Do's to the last dance!! Here are some pointers 1. Silvia in the Miami office is very new (she told me she just started) and has soooo much incorrect information and do remember her job is in wedding sales so she is there to help you with planning but to also show you options to add on to your exixting package...It was a difficult start to the planning process and while Silvia was very quick to reply and as helpful as possible there were very many miscommunications and incorrect info. They did try to charge the $500 vendor fee but we booked our DJ (DJ MANNIA) and LA LUNA PHOTOGRAPHERS (DEL SOL) [AMAZING BY THE WAY I HAVE BEEN DREAMING TO WORK WITH DEL SOL SINCE WE DECIDED ON A DESTINATION WEDDING]...anyway we booked them a year ago and i had the OK from YESENIA to have them come on property for just the day pass fees per person. 2. OUR TRAVEL AGENT CAROL PECK. 3. The resort is perfect, we are New Yorkers and have high expectations and have been to many nice and not so nice resorts but Le Blanc is #1 in Cancun for a reason so know you all made the right decision in choosing Le Blanc. I love the all white, Miami feel and wanted an all white wedding and they were perfect. Luxurious and wonderful! 4. Wedding stuff ... everyone there was amazing the restaurants were delicious and we ate filet mignon every night (really we did and sushi and everything else..i gained a husband and 8 lbs!! haha). the restaurants dont take reservations but I asked if we could arrange for a welcome dinner/gathering and they accomodated 30 of us with a special menu, beautifully decorated tables and everything was perfect!! Another night we asked to arrange for the 30 of us to eat together again and we had 3 birthdays to celebrate and again they took care of us! Treated like we were guests in their own home!! I brought tons of gifts and welcome bags and parasols for the beach, maracas, starfish, etc and almost had a problem bringing it into mexico since customs was concerned that we were bringing too much merchandise to mexico...bring receipts (which i did not do) but i was lucky and was as nice as possible and used my years of spanish lessons to work it out...Sandra my coordinator took all of my stuff including guest book with poloroid, place cards table cards EVERYTHING even fans and bags of rose petals and put EVERYTHING into place...all of it was perfect!! THERE WAS ONE MINOR INCIDENT...WELL IT WAS A GRANDE INCIDENT...we were supposed to be married on the sand and reception at the gazebo terrace however we woke up the morning of the wedding and there was a HUGE i mean HUGE tent being built directly on the beach blocking the beautiful view we dreamed of....I was a bit angry at first since noone let us know about the event (which turned out to be a fashion show and concert which we were invited to later that week which was fabulous) being so massive BUT i realized what was important was being in this beautiful place and the ppl i loved and i told my hubby to do whatever he thought and make all the decisions and i went to the spa for the day...he ended up moving the ceremony to the other side of the beach and they closed the terrace upstairs overlooking the beach (which is normally a restaurant and a club/bar. They closed it for our wedding until our party was over and it ended up being even better than we couldve imagined...poor sandra was so worried it was going to rain all day but it was fine, a bit gray and cloudy but perfect. Food was perfect DJ was good OUR PHOTOGRAPHERS WERE AMAZING...Jonathan and Melissa from La Luna/Del Sol were like part of our crazy family and they were a pleasure!! we already miss them!!! Everything was great and we ended the night by me jumping in the pool in full wedding gear!!   Salon...i did a hair and makeup trial with Minerva in the spa and she was so sweet and great!!! i wanted natural and beachy messy curls/waves...the trial was great and she did my makeup beautifully but i decided to not wear any makeup at all for the wedding day but she did do my hair and mani/pedi...FUTURE BRIDES if you think your hair will stay nice for any outdoor ceremony and party think again...i wasnt worried about it but my curls/waves lasted through 20 minutes of ceremony and then i was a hot mess but i didnt care at all!! Spa is amazing use those resort credits!!!!! use the credits for the gift shop, tequila and the Aqua world excursion...So fun with a big group!! FLOWERS and centerpieces were gorgeous...didnt love the bouquet as it wasnt what i really wanted but it was still beautiful and who cares!! Im sure ive missed many topics but in the end you will all be happy just go with the flow (which in my everyday life i could BEVER do) and enjoy...your in paradise with all your friends and family marrying the guy of your dreams....who cares if there is a giant tent in the way, or it drizzles, or if something is out of place or your hair is frizzy or you drank the pool bar out over dos equis and tecate lite and don julio....they can always re-stock and the party continues...if you have any questions pls message me!!!   oh yea i forgot to mention the officiant who married us (it was just a civil ceremony but noone knew that) was this funny old man and at the end of our vows he pronounced us Mr & Mrs McCord...we still have no clue who the McCords are but we thought it was sooooo funny!!!   also if you could hire your own photographer...the package i chose included one but we wanted great, photo journalistic style photos and del sol is THE BEST!!!   I am attaching some photos...on includes a photo of sandra the coordinator i wish she would still be there for all you future brides she is incredibly GREAT at her job!! I work in the field as a wedding cake designer and pastry chef so i deal with a lot of weddings and she is a true professional!!! PS the wedding cake Le Blanc made was delicious I made the toppers and brought them to mexico they were made out of sugar so they did melt and change color a bit but its all in fun!! our beautiful setup   i brought the parasols for our guests     I didnt wear makeup so minerva just did my hair and i was scared my curls were too tight but good thing they were since the humidity and the breeze loosened them right up...PS ..ICK!! dont get too tan like me!!   see..bye bye curls         I made sugar toppers for our cake...the grooms suit WAS gray like the real thing but it faded from the sun...i made a mini version of my wedding dress and our dog who couldnt come to mexico   I jumped in the pool...my groom followed and everyone freaked out because of the dress but hey...its your wedding day DO WHAT YOU WANT

Our Wedding and Honeymoon”   I have taken awhile to write my review because there are so many positives about Le Blanc and the vendors we dealt with I didn't want the negative things that happened to make the good part look any less. So before I begin, if anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me. Our wedding was March 3, 2012 and we stayed at Le Blanc for 9 days.

A+++++ Marcie from Beach Bum Vacation. Can't say enough about her! She is not the typical "travel agent". She is with you from beginning to end for all of the planning! The decision to have her as our agent for our wedding and honeymoon I think really made things that much easier. You have someone on your side, looking out for your best interest at all times. I have dealt with other travel agents that once you book with them, they receive their payment and you don't hear from them. Marcie always responded to calls or emails in a VERY timely manner, even when it was something small that could wait. She puts YOU first every step of the way and when/if something goes wrong....SHE'S ON IT!!! More about that later on.

We opted for the 9 days at Le Blanc with 2,000 resort credit and the complimentary wedding. We were not having any guests attend and this was going to be a very intimate and special wedding. We dealt with Janessa from Le Blancs Miami office (she gets a C-). She had given me the details and choices of the wedding and prices for add ons. My advice, do not deal with the Miami office, just deal with your travel agent and onsite wedding coordinator. Janessa at times didn't respond in a timely manner, had incorrect information and wanted to charge for every little thing. She also wasn't the most personable...you could tell she was in sales and that's what it was about. Sandra our Wedding Coordinator was much more helpful with the planning, personable and helped add our personality to the wedding. I don't want to bog everything down about the wedding so if I miss anything, again feel free to ask since I know there's not many wedding reviews on Le Blanc on the web. Before we dealt with Sandra another woman by the name of Yesina was helping us, she wasn't that great and not sure what happened to her. Sandra with the help of our fantastic Marcie from Beach Bum helped us choose all of our details (flowers, cake, music, etc) I spent months picking everything out and when I got on the plane to leave I was very confident it was going to be smooth and easy. Sandra had also put me in contact with Clarissa (Spa Manager at Le Blanc) and Adriana (Smile Market for Photography). More on them to follow. I wasn't able to burn a CD for our ceremony music and Sandra went out of her way to download and make the CD for us, free of charge. NOTE: Janessa wanted to charge us a few hundred dollars to do this.
D- Clarissa (Spa Manager) at the Le Blancs Spa - Before we left I had planned my hair and make up with Minierva at the spa for the big day - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER A++ she did a wonderful job and is a very sweet woman. Anyway, I planned through Clarissa (Sandra was copied on every aspect of the planning) on the day of the wedding I would get my hair and make up done and then go back to the room to meet my photographer and get dressed. My husband to be would go to the spa, do the hydrotherapy circuit then a massage. We had received permission from Clarissa and Sandra that our other photographer would meet my husband there and they would take getting ready pics of him at the spa. This is where things started to go wrong.... all I wanted for my husband to be was a stress free day getting ready with some great unique pics...there were issues right from when we walked in to check in, Clarissa had not notified anyone that we were OK'd to have our photographer to take photos of him at the spa. The people at the spa would not give him and the photographer 10 minutes in a small private area that a curtain could have been dropped and everyones privacy would have been respected. My photographer was awesome! He rolled with the punches and took great photos - more on Lincoln from Moments that Matter in a little bit.

Also, during the planning process Janessa and Sandra had put me in contact with Adriana from Smile Market. Adriana is all about selling, and really doesn't care about what you want or how you want it. Side note - I used to work for a photographer and am VERY into photography and video - this was VERY important to me and everyone involved was well aware of this. I was doing my research comparing Smile Market with other photographers - I had inquired about cenote TTD photo shoot. Not only did Adriana pull alot of nonesense and danced around she wanted to charge a unheard of price! I know this because they wanted to charge more than any of the other photographers I had inquired with. I contacted and interviewed at least 20 photographers based in the Cancun area before decideing on Moments that Matter. Adriana was very pushy but something kept telling me not to book with Smile Market for the photography. THANK GOD I DIDN'T!!! Although the packages offered do look very appealing, their photos weren't up to my standards, the customer service was terrible and the prices were just too much. To this day, I regret hiring Smile Market to video our wedding....more to come on this but they get a BIG FAT FAIL!!! DO NOT HIRE SMILE MARKET FOR YOUR WEDDING YOU WILL BE STRESSED OUT AND DISAPPOINTED! I ended up going with Lincoln from Moments that Matter who ended up being the 2nd photographer I looked into LOL! And I went with Adrianas promises of a great price, great professional video from Smile Market (I have lots of emails saved to prove that Smile Market is totally not professional in the least bit). I also feel Le Blanc should set their standards to just as high as everything else they do, Le Blancs name is trusted and Smile Market also claims they are a Kodak company, they are NOT, they just use Kodak cameras. Once I finally pinned Adriana down to a price on the cenote shoot she then went on to tell me she couldn't promise that the day we arrived we would get it. Obviously she should have been honest and said, we don't offer that or our photographers don't do that....she did not. She was not honest and this wasn't going to be the last time she lies.

Day of the wedding: We woke up to a great breakfast (Our ceremony was going to be at 4 - a few hours before sunset everything was timed and confirmed more than twice with everyone involved) We relaxed a bit then made our way to the spa, I already wrote about the issues of dealing with Clarissa and the spa for my husband. The salon was perfect, Minerva is wonderful. I work in a high end spa/salon here in NY and my friends/stylists had done a trial with me so I showed Minerva the photos of how I wanted my hair done, brought some of my own make up and she worked her magic - couldn't be happier with her. One small negative - they don't have disposable wands for the mascare so bring your own.

Photography - Lincoln from Moments that Matter and his assistant Nai - were A++ all the way and then some! PERFECT! They showed up early to scope out Le Blanc and Lincoln met my husband at the spa to take photos - Lincoln took charge, rolled with the unprofessionalism of Clarissa not making arrangements for him and still got great shots. I am not disappointed in the least bit of the photos, I am disappointed in my husbands experience at the spa. It was tacky and not nice. He was not treated special or like a groom at all, just like another guest at the resort. I made my way up to the room.....
Side note: Our butlers Mario and Miguel were fantastic and always a step ahead of everything for the most part. When we arrived at the hotel we handed my wedding dress and husbands suit to be steamed. I left detailed instructions to ONLY steam the dress for minor wrinkles. I had brought a cute hanger for my dress to be put on photos and was told no problem. When I arrived at the room my dress was laying on the bed in the dry cleaning plastic bag (No BIG DEAL). I had time till Nai my photographer showed and Sandra was meeting me in my room to help me get dressed, bring my flowers and zip me up. I carefully took my dress out of the bag and placed it on the hanger then I noticed my dress had pulls and it was shrunk! They cleaned my dress instead of just doing a quick steam (And wanted to charge me over 100 bucks for it!). I called my butler into the room to show him, he was speachless and told me they send it out. I was not informed of this, if I was I would have brought my own travel steamer and did it myself. Nothing I could do at this point and wasnt going to let anything ruin the day, so lets just roll with it now. Nai showed up a little early and we got to work she was so pleasant and really made me feel comfortable, she went above and beyond helping me. Sandra never showed up to help me with my dress, or give me the flowers so I could take pics until a little after 4 O'clock - ceremony was to start at 4 Oclock! Flowers looked a little off but still no big deal, lets roll with it. Nai helped me get dressed and I had to literally SQUEEZE into my dress due to it being shrunk (note, I tried my dress on 2 days before we left - it fit just fine!). My dress was strapless so ladies, you know what happens when the dress is too tight - back fat! Nai was great, she kept an eye on me the whole time tucking me and letting me know when I needed to adjust since now my bra was sliding out of the top of my shrunk dress. She really stepped in and helped! Sandra finally shows, after I had called downstairs and was told she would be up soon cause she was with my husband - I called my husband, she wasn't with him? Still never got an answer to that. But today was going to be a great day! No matter what and I laughed it all off. We finished up our photos and started downstairs to the gazebo (note if your having more than an intimate small wedding choose one of the other locations at Le Blanc - it's much smaller than it looks) There's no aisle to walk really. The music started, butterflies hit my belly and I started the walk, it was very windy but we were ok with that - again, nothing you can do about that. I made it to the alter, shook the ministers hand and then that's when I noticed my videographer from SMILE MARKET WAS A NO SHOW! Not only did they not show, no one noticed they weren't there - not even my wedding coordinator. After all the confirmations and promises with Adriana from Smile Market they just didn't show. I looked over at Sandra and said where are they? She looked mortified and said don't worry. Because our wedding was just the two of us the photos and video really meant alot so we could show our parents, families and friends when we got home. NO VIDEO what so ever of our ceremony, no exchange of vows, not the silly whispers when we met at the alter or the reaction on my husbands face when he saw me walking towards him....they will live in my memory and photos but NO VIDEO! Lincoln our photographer was there the whole time shooting away, he realized what was going on and took over - THANK GOD FOR HIM! Sandra panicked and stopped directing us as to where to walk or go. We went on to our photo shoot (We had to move quickly cause of the timing we had enough of time before sunset but Sandra had not come to my room on time, the video didn't show and all set us back). Off to the beach we went....what an amazing experience we laughed the whole time! Our photos truly show our love and the fun and emotion of the day! My only regret is that I didn't spring and hire Lincoln to come earlier and have him with us the entire day. After the beach we made our way around the grounds then the pool....it all went great!!! About 5 minutes AFTER our ceremony Sandra informs me that she called our videographer and he told her there was a car accident. I used to work for a photographer - you always have a back up plan. They didn't!!! About 10 minutes later, Sandra says I would like you to meet our videographer from Smile Market he is going to video your photo shoot free of charge. Big deal! At this point we could care less and were disgusted with them. The nerve to say free of charge....it better be! They weren't videoing what we were paying for our contracted to have. Again, we rolled with the punches and hada great day anyway but the bottom line no matter what anyone tried to do I don't have my wedding video to have for years to come. Lincoln was so good, he stayed late at no additional charge and did a slideshow to music for us so we had something to bring home with us...he had the slideshow up before we left Mexico.
After the wedding we went up to our room to get changed for our dinner on the beach (Lobster and steak that we were using part of our resort credit for). Sandra notified us that because of the wind it would be inside at the international buffet. They had a table set up for us next to the sliding doors - the food was great but made no extra special touches that it was our wedding things went wrong and tried to make up for it. When we were up to the room, I emailed Marcie from Beach Bum - she was on it and horrified and just as upset as us, she was going to get involved. She told me to please enjoy your night and she would take care of things, and she did.
When we arrived back from dinner our room was cleaned perfectly as it was every night and our jacuzzi tub was set with rose petals, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Overall I married my bestfriend in Mexico - how could it be bad? Looking back at it - I don't have my video, Smile Market dropped the ball and so did Sandra Le Blancs wedding coordinator. My dress was shrunk :o(
The next day we were approached a few times by various managers apologizing and saying they would make it up to us. My husband put it very well to them....we are not snobs and know that no one is perfect - we didn't want perfect. We just wanted our 20 min ceremony to be perfect. The bottom line is, my wife is going home without a video. We were approached a few times, rehashing it and it just got me upset I finally walked away and let my husband handle it. We paid so much in time and money planning this how could something so simple and routine go wrong? I did receive an email from Adriana after that basically lieing saying that there was not a car accident but that there was an issue with the equipment. It's a long story but the bottom line is Smile Market screwed up and put it all on Le Blanc to handle the aftermath. Even when I got home and emailed them I got a short, cold apology. They did Nothing to accomodate us. Le Blanc went above and beyond to try to make it up to us and gave us a honeymoon that you only see in Disney movies. A few nights later Ceasar one of the managers told us to be ready for dinner and our butler would get us for a surprise. We were escorted out to the grass gazebos all lit up for a private dinner with our own private wait staff and viewing of the video Smile Market took on a huge outdoor screen. The dinner was great. The video was mediocre at best, you can tell he just followed my photographer shooting nonstop then they did a rush edit job. Marcie was still doing follow up emails to find out what went wrong to ensure this doesn't happen again but seems people were dodging her, I'm sure she gave them hell and I know she really helped us while we were there! The whole Beach Bum team got involved! My photographer did a better slideshow...but hey! Le Blanc really did try to make things right. They also upgraded our spa appt that we were using our resort credit for and didn't charge us but then again, it was a resort credit so anyway you see it....we paid for it one way or another.Over a month later I still have not received a sinciere apology from Smile Market or any answers as to why this happened and why adriana lied to me and made it seem like Sandra was lieing. Andreas Schmidt the general manager of Le Blanc met us at our dinner to give us his sincere apology and shake our hands. He is a busy man and took the time to come see us, that meant alot to us! The rest of the honeymoon was great! The weather was choppy at times but we kept busy with our relaxing and honeymooning....onto Le Blancs review:
Every positive thing said about the resort here on tripadvisor is right on. Food A++, Drinks A++, Resort is clean, the service is the best I have ever seen with sincere smiles, please tip everyone that deserves it they all work so hard! The pools, beach and grounds were spotless at all times, everyone tries to be step ahead of your needs and doesn't want you to lift a finger. I do agree with posts that the constant spa music for 9 days got to be a bit too much and the entertainment pool needs a little more upbeat, modern music. I would totally recommend Le Blanc for a honeymoon spot but unless they work out something where you don't have to spend an extra arm and a leg to bring in your own photographerin - yes the resort charges if you don't use Smile Market. I wouldn't chance using Smile Market (Le Blancs prefered vendor -even their customer service isn't up to Le Blanc standards). The minister they had do our ceremony was also GREAT!
Conclusion - Upon leaving Le Blanc, We were treated great for the most part although at times felt like we were looked at like the problem child even tho the issues that went on weren't our fault. When we went to check out they actually gave us a bill but my husband asked for a manager and it was taken care of. They try to charge us for the cleaning of our clothes for the wedding and a bottle of wine at our special beach dinner that was held in the buffet....Cesar the manager took care of it. Mr Schmidt met us, shook our hands and invited us to come back for a few compd nights at any Palace Resort within a year. But like my husband said, no matter what or how beautiful I still don't have my video. Would I go back to Le Blanc for a vacation or for a honeymoon - Sure! Other than the day of the wedding mishaps it was almost perfect! Will we use the compd nights? Since it's only good for within the year, not sure but we are going to try. If we do make it back we are calling Marcie from Beach Bum to help us out and making an appointment with Lincoln to do another fun shoot! In the meantime we have already discussed trying to do a small family getaway and Marcie is now part of our family and our forever travel agent! Tips: Governers suite was amazing, coconut martinis to die for, all the wait staff at breakfast are great! Ocean view is the way to go! Confirm and re-confirm any plans made at the spa or anything special. Yes, we smoked cigarettes and were respectful of non-smokers with no issues, bring your ipad with some music, room service is just as good as the restaurants - even the service. Private transfers were amazing - 20 min from the airport. Overall my travel agent did an amazing job! Smile Market was a great disappointment. Le Blanc is everything all of the reviews say it is.

Hi Brides!!!   My husband would kill me if he knew I was sharing these photos hehehe! HOWEVER, I have to recommend the most fantastic hotel the Le blanc!!!!   Le Blanc resort and spa was a total dream. The food, service, cleanliness and the beauty was totally five star all the way. I think the only issue we had was the front desk screwed up our room but they ended up getting us a suite anyway.   We were SO pleased with every event that took place at the resort every welcome party, cocktail, reception...etc had attention to detail and was just beautiful. Our wedding was very small and intimate and our family and friends raved about everything and how it was the best wedding they had been to. It was totally worth the price. My husband and I were a little bit worried about the price at first...however to be HONEST the Le blanc is worth every penny.  I was a ball of stress at first when I first heard that you will not be contacted with your wedding planner till three months before. Honestly, it didn't even matter! I had the BEST wedding planner..Diana totally saw my vision. We were in constant contact through email and the weekend before we spoke on the phone.   I brought all my own decorations and all I did on Wednesday is decide on a few last minute things and I I told her to handle the rest. She nailed it! The best meal was the rehearsal dinner the steak was outstanding. We were SO happy with every aspect of the hotel from food, drinks, the spa everything was perfect. We plan on going back next year.  Le blanc is AMAZING! Here is our slide show with lots of pictures of the different locations. Destination Wedding: A+++++++ This was THE best decision the hubster and I made!  Having all of our best friends and family there was simply amazing.  The resort and their staff went OVER THE TOP to make everything perfect and treated everyone like they were the most important people in the world.  I would recommend a destination wedding to ANYONE!!  Yes, there was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, but seeing it all come together was an amazing feeling and experience.  All of our guests raved that this was by far the best wedding they had ever attended!!  Enjoy the review…   Travel Agent: A+++++++   Wendy Hicks has got to be THE BEST travel agent in the world.  You have NO idea how annoying I probably was to her, but she made it seem like she loved doing it.  I went though about 5 or 6 travel agents, including DW.com (which I do NOT recommend), before I found Wendy Hicks.  The process was a nightmare.  I didn’t trust anyone I was dealing with and just felt they were giving me the run around.  Wendy made sure she got us the best prices and best amenities.  She ALWAYS responded to my emails within a few hours and was always a phone call away.  My guests loved working with her…she made the booking process extremely easy and worked with my guests on payments and special requests.  If it wasn’t for her, I know I would have had a nervous breakdown. Going through Wendy was the best decision we made, after deciding on a destination wedding.  I honestly do NOT have a single negative thing to say about her services.  Here is her contact info: Wendy Hicks Wendyhicks1@sbcgolabal.net 707-794-9671   Le Blanc Spa Resort: A++++++   There are no words to describe my experience with Le Blanc.  The service was IMPECCABLE and the resort was breathtaking.   Just to preface, we took 50 guests to Le Blanc.  This was the LARGEST wedding they had ever done, and they NAILED IT!!!!  SO professional and fun and easy to work with every step of the way.  LE BLANC IS WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY!!!!!  I am going to break it down piece by piece…   Amenities: A+++++ This place is BEAUTIFUL and BREATHTAKING.  The hubs and I were looking for a minimalistic, modern resort, with a TOUCH of beachy flare.  Everything was ALWAYS clean and pristine.  They had staff members cleaning the property 24 hours a day.  The flowers on site were always beautiful and there was ALWAYS the most welcoming fragrance throughout the resort.  They had soothing music playing at all times...everyone kept saying "this is the nicest resort we have ever visited!"   Check in: A++ As soon as we stepped out of our transportation, they greeted us with a cold towel, pleasant smile, and “Welcome, Mr. Lutz and Ms. Hayes.”  They then took our bags and escorted us into the lobby. When I took my first step into the lobby, I was blown away.   We smelled the most beautiful fragrance and saw the most pristine lobby!  I had been looking at pictures of this place for a year, so I assumed I knew exactly what it looked like.  It blew my expectations away.  We were immediately handed a champagne glass filled with delicious coconut milk and ask if we would like anything from the bar.  Once I told them champagne, they would remember that was one of my favorite drinks from here on out.  Check in was a piece of cake.  They even gave me flowers!!!!  SO SWEET!  At that point, they showed us around and escorted us to our room.  When I first looked outside and saw the infinity pool, I knew I was in heaven.          Rooms: A+++   The rooms are AMAZING!  We decided to upgrade to the Royal Governor’s Suite.  WOWZERS!!!! It was beautiful!  It was clean and crisp and modern and big and gorgeous!  It had a HUGE Jacuzzi that looked out over the pool and ocean.  Every room is stocked with a licquor dispensor and tons ofsnacks. We had 2 balconies!  One small, French-style balcony that overlooked the pool and another LARGE balcony that overlooked the beach.  They also welcomed us with a little chocolate cake that said CONGRATS!  It was amazing!!  We have stayed at Ritz Carlton’s, etc and this was by far the nicest room I have ever stayed in.  The bed was SO COMFORTABLE!!  Shortly after we arrived in our room, we were introduced to our butler.  He showed us the PILLOW MENU!  It was a full page menu of every type of pillow you could imagine.  And it was ALL included!  The room also has this amazing flatscreen that comes up from a piece of furniture in the middle of the room.  We didn’t watch any TV BUT at night, they would have beach images and soothing music playing when you came in forthe evening. The Royal Deluxe rooms were JUST AS NICE!  They looked exactly the same, except a little smaller and with a smaller balcony.  The rooms are amazing!           Butler Service: A++   WOWZERS!!  Every room has it’s own private butler.  Ours was AMAZING!  After he showed us the room, the room service menus, etc, he offered to UNPACK our bags for us.  We were a little hesitant at first, but we had 10 suitcases and needed to be downstairs for our meeting with Diana.  When we returned from our meeting, all of our bags were unpacked and ORGANIZED.  Imagine underwear drawer, tshirt drawer, jammies drawer, swimsuit drawer, etc.  ALL of my shoes were displayed in the closet, and my wedding dress was hung up neatly and hidden behind a sheet so Ryan could not see it.  AMAZING!  Everytime we needed something, we would give him a buzz, and he was there within a minute.  We were like, how does it do that?!?!?!  The turndown service was one of my favorite things!  They would make sure your room was spotless when you turned in for the evening.  They would lay out your robe and house slippers, dim the lights, and have the tv playing the mot relaxing music.  They also had all the pillows that you had ordered on your bed. Also, if you requested your tub to be filled, they would have your tub ready with bath salts, etc. All the bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite in the spa.  You can imagine how much stuff we had!  All we had to do was put our room number on a piece of paper on our stuff, and the butlers delivered all of our stuff to our rooms during the wedding.  SO GREAT!!!!     Food: A-   Ok, FOOD was Ryan’s MAIN concern!!!  He wanted the food to be truly 5 star quality.  I explained to him that all-inclusive resorts usually don’t have food of that caliber, but I would find a resort with the best food ratings.  Le Blanc was about as close to 5 star quality as you can get.  It’s hard to imagine it was all-inclusive.  Obviously, it was not better than the nicest restaurant in New York City or Paris, but the food was DAMN GOOD and some of the best food I have ever eaten!!!!  The first night, we went to dinner at “the nicest restaurant in Cancun…” It was NO COMPARISON to the food at Le Blanc.  We were so mad we left the resort and spent $300 on a meal that was mediocre compared to the fabulous food at Le Blanc. Italian:  We ate here after our welcome cocktail on the beach.  It was decent at best.  However, we talked to a lot of people that had awesome food here!   Blanc International: AMAZING!!!!  Their breakfast was to DIE FOR!  Every morning they made me this amazing egg white omelet with anything I could imagine it the omelet.  They also had steak and eggs and omelet bar and fruits and breads and cereals ANDYTHING you can possibly imagine for breakfast.  They would also make ANYTHING you requested.  The service was IMPECCABLE as well!!!!!!!  And fabulous bloody mary’s!   French:  This restaurant was truly gourmet!  It was a 5 course meal in the MOST beautiful setting!  It’s a small little restaurant that was decorated beautifully.  Very modern and serene. Truly amazing dining experience!   Asian:  I didn’t make it here because I fell asleep early one night.  Everyone said it was great!!!   Bistro:  We ate here the first day we arrived.  It was sooooo good.  We sat by one of the infinity pools.  I had a salad with ahi tuna and Ryan had a wood-grilled pizza.  SO DELICIOUS!  Also, out by the pool or on the beach, you can order food and it comes from here.  They had the most delicious ceviche I have ever eaten.  And their guac was TO DIE FOR!   Alcohol/Bars: A++   They had every kind of alcohol you could imagine.  They were VERY generous on their pours AND everything was top shelf!!!!!  Grey Goose, Don Hulio, Crown Royal, Johnny Walker Black, Opus One, Caymus, etc etc etc. The bartenders ALWAYS remembered what you wanted to drink.  It was so cool!  They also had TONS of specialty drinks that everyone enjoyed while at the pool bar.   Activities: B I thought the activities at the resort were great!  The boys LOVED the beach and pool volleyball games everyday.  The staff was really excited about the games and really got involved.  They had some kind of live music or karaoke every night.  This was a lot of fun!  They kept the bars open as late we wanted!  One night they had a fire dancer show.  I REALLY hate we missed this!!  I heard it was incredible! They also had water sports and stuff like that.  Within our package, we had unlimited tours, but we didn’t have time to go on them.   Spa: A++++ This was THE most beautiful spa I HAVE ever been to!  SERIOUSLY!  The services were AMAZING!!!!  It’s also a Kerestase salon.  Only select spas around the world are able to call themselves a “Karastase Salon.” The girl who did my hair and makeup was AMAZING!  I was considering going to MAC in Cancun to get my makeup done, but after I got to the resort, I changed my mind.  Everyone was so sweet and accommodating…I felt guilty giving the business to someone else.  She did such a fab job!  My hair was EXACTLY like I wanted.  My makeup was so classic and natural with a little bit of pop!  Just perfect!  My hair lasted then entire night and even lasted until the next day for my trash the dress pictures. I do not have pictures of the inside of the spa (where the massage rooms, etc are located)...it is breathtaking back there!  I felt guilty taking pictures back there where it was so peaceful and serene! They also have a bridal suite for all the girls to get dressed in with the bride!  It was kind of small, but there were 10 of us in there!  Just look at the pictures of the salon area and of my hair and makeup!       Pools and Beach: A++++   The pools were beautiful!!!  Literally breathtaking!!  We spent 90% of our time at the pools.  THE BEST pools I have ever seen! The music at the pools was very relaxing, but they let us play our ipod dock at the Lagoon Pool.  So we made that the party pool!  The infinity pools were STUNNING!  They also have a huge hot tub!  The beach was one of the most beautiful beaches I had ever been too!  It was a beautiful white beach and the water was SO SO SO BLUE!!!  The service at the pools and the beach was impeccable.  You NEVER had an empty drink or and empty tummy. J   Service: A+++++ Ok, this was one of THE BEST things about Le Blanc.  EVERY staff member worked extremely hard to make everyone’s stay wonderful!  We would see them at 7 am working and still working at 11 pm that night.  And they ALWAYS had a smile on their face.  Their response to everything was “It’s my pleasure.”  We just laugh every time a waiter or someone says this now, because we know they don’t really mean it…the staff at Le Blanc MEANT IT!  They always had my favorite cocktails waiting on me and always gave me the biggest hugs and a bright “good morning Ms. Hayes (Mrs. Lutz after the wedding)!  The staff at each of our events was awesome!!!!!!  They had so much fun with all of our guests and truly treated everyone like royalty.  All of our guests said they felt like it was their wedding, because the staff made everyone feel so special.  The guys at the wedding were AMAZING!!!! Tipping is NOT required, but I found myself tipping everywhere I went!  Whether we were at the pool or on the beach or in our room or at the bar or in a restaurant, the service was impeccable.  One day at the pool, we wanted some red bull…um the bartender went to Costco and got us red bull and was back in like 20 minutes.  IT WAS NUTS how great they were to us!!!  Seriously top notch.  It was rather depressing leaving such a great service and coming home to mediocre service!       Wedding Services: A+++++ From the beginning to the end, everything was perfect.  I have read over and over and over again about terrible service with wedding coordinators and coordinators that takes weeks to write you back or never write you back!  Why would you EVEN deal with this!?!?!?!  It was weird if I went more than a couple hours without hearing from the girls at Le Blanc!  I will go through each wedding service below:   Melissa Gomez A+: Melissa is the wedding coordinator in the Miami office.  She was amazing!!!  At first, it was a little frustrating because I had to wait until 3 months prior to the wedding before I was assigned my onsite coordinator.  HOWEVER, Melissa accommodated all of my needs!  I have heard she is not there anymore, but I am sure the new person will be just as good.  She basically handles the contracts and general questions about the resort.  She also gave me her opinions regarding packages and upgrades, etc.  JUST BE PATIENT!!!  I PROMISE YOU!!!  You do not need to talk to Diana before 3 months prior to your wedding.  This is PLENTY OF TIME!   DJ A++: The ONSITE DJ WAS AWESOME!!!!  This was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY!!  I let him take control of the party, and he did a fabulous job.  The only list I gave him was the list for the first dance, cake, etc.  Everyone raved about him.  He even let people requests songs and kept the party going nonstop.   Guitarist B-:  I am actually unsure about the guitarist because he played during the cocktail hour while Ryan and I were taking pictures.  People said he was good, but I would just save your money and extend the DJ an hour.   Florist:  We did not use the florist onsite, but I really wish we had used her.  We found a local florist who saved us a ton of money, but the flowers showed up dead a couple of times.  The florist onsite is expensive, but she will work with you!   Photographer: I did not use the resort photographer.  I brought my own.  Please see my photographer review at the end.   Décor company A+:  THEY WERE GREAT!!!!  My decorations were SO SO SO SO SO precious!  They have everything you need for your reception.  We had a very modern reception, and they were able to get everything we need.  They also have this AWESOME dance floor!!!  It was a white shiny dance floor.  Too cute!  They were very easy to work with throughout the process.  Lilly always answered my questions and got me the answers I needed in a timely manner.   Cake A+++++:  I emailed Diana a picture of my cake a few months before the wedding and totally forgot about it. WELL, I showed up to reception, and it was PERFECT!  It looked better than the picture…seriously!  And it was DELISH!  We had 2 different flavors: German chocolate cheesecake and another flavor that I can’t even remember now.  And my cake was FREE!!  Are you kidding me??!?!?   DIANA!!!!! A+++++++:  DIANA IS SO AWESOME!!! She is so so so cute!!  She worked her BUTT off for us and made sure everything was perfect.  She ALWAYS responded to my emails within an hour and answered all 5 million of my questions.  One time I asked her about sparklers for the reception.  Over the weekend, she went to 5 party stores and 2 markets to find sparklers.  Can you believe that?!?  After working ALL day, she was at EVERY SINGLE EVENT working!  And she had so much fun doing it.  She was extremely organized. DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS!  When we met with her for the first time at the resort, she had our file with every single detail we had talked about over email.  She did not miss a beat!!!!  In the 11th hour, I decided to bring one of my friends, who is a wedding designer, to help me throughout the weekend.  He helped design the reception and made sure the rest of the events were decorated correctly, ran smoothly,  etc.  Most resorts would NOT allow this, but Christopher and Diana became fast friends and worked WONDERFULLY together.  She was extremely accommodating to him!!  Please just be patient…3 months is plenty of time to work with Diana!  We brought 3 suitcases of stuff for her to use during the different events (menus, cake topper, napkins, matches, guest book, maracas, table cloths, candles, etc etc etc etc etc).  We went over each item and each event.  She made sure everything was placed wherever it was supposed to be placed.  Once again, she is extremely organized!  AFTER she had worked her butt off ALL weekend and ALL night, she ironed my dress and got the stains out and got it all ready for my trash the dress pictures the next day.  She will seriously make your dream wedding come true!   Wedding Location: A+++ Wedding Décor: C We had our ceremony at the gazebo.  It was honestly one of the most beautiful and breathtaking ceremony spots I have ever seen.  It’s this modern white gazebo that overlooks the ocean.  They decorate it with white organza fabric.  SO BEAUTIFUL!  They also tied white organza ties on every chair.  I had brought hot pink ones with me, but decided not to use them.  So I assumed they would not do anything to the chairs, but they did, free of charge.  They had an aisle runner decorated with white and hot pink rose petals.  It really was serene.  Ok now to the bad part.  I assumed that they would not decorate the location since I only specified a few things.  BUT they were so nice, they did their own decorations.  Obviously, it is NOT what I would have chosen, but it was so sweet that they did it.  I just did the free package, so I assumed they would keep it bare.  I would recommend being specific with what you want here.  The decorations were still nice, but I would have done without the flowers and without the blue vases.     Officiant A+++:  He was a DOLL!!!  He was so charming, funny, and sincere! He spoke very clearly and seemed so in tune with us.  Everyone really enjoyed hearing him speak.  I would not change anything about the service.  We did say our own vowels, but we kept everything else the same.        Reception Location: A+++ THIS WAS PERFECT!  It was on the rooftop, and you have the sun setting in the background.  The bar and DJ were outside.  They had the food set up inside in a small room that they partitioned off with a little lounge area that matched the lounge area outside.  Just look at the pictures…
