  1. I'm here right now and it is the top of building 3 which is the center building. Very central location
  2. I had communication issues with Katy too. I literally waited over a month for replies. I ended up being able to bring my own stuff for around the same price, it is just a pain in the butt to get it down there.
  3. Here is the one I got: We hope this email finds you well, We would like to inform you about some non-authorized vendors that we have detected in our properties and the actions that we will be taking in relation to this matter. We have received notifications from former brides about vendors who are having decoration up for sale. We have identified these non-authorized vendors and we are also aware of the various social media platforms where they are advertising their services. We have completely recognized all the decoration items as well as the boxes or suitcases where such decoration is in. We have detected how they usually request our hotel guests to pick up such decorations off property in order to avoid being exposed. As a company, our policies do not allow any of these vendors as their business activities are irregular. In addition, these vendors are illegally selling products and avoiding governmental fees and taxes. The guest purchasing this items are as well incurring on braking the law. For this reason, we must notify all our clients that we will charge an $800USD fee for such decoration (lanterns, signature stationaries, flowers, etc.) once we detect them in our properties. The fee will also apply in the case of makeup artists, photographers, or any other vendor that provides a service that has not been previously notified to us, and the hotel will also reserve the right to refuse admission. Thank you for the bonds of trust we have built together and for choosing Azul Sensatori Hotel by Karisma for your Destination Wedding. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any questions or comments. Although I think that their email was pretty intense and that it could have been worded in a much more professional way, but I do understand why they sent something. They are very clear about their approved vendors and their outside vendor fees, and Love & Lace is an outside vendor. It was great that people have been able to get away with it until now, but it really was only a matter of time until resorts started to catch on, especially when they see the exact same decorations week after week. I was thinking about going with Love & Lace, but I ended up being able to bring my own stuff for close to the same price, plus I can sell it when I get home to recoup some of the cost. Yeah its a lot of stuff to take on an airplane, but there is no risk that you will get caught cheating the system and end up paying a huge outside vendor fee. I dunno... I can see why everybody is frustrated because renting from Katy is more convenient than bringing your own stuff and cheaper than the resorts rentals, but from a business perspective I totally understand that they have policies in place for a reason and I don't think we can fault them for enforcing policies that we were all aware of.
  4. Has anybody ever been upgraded to a Presidential Suite? Or is it always the Honeymoon Suite?
  5. Does anybody know if they give a list of room numbers for the group to the bridal couple? Thanks!
  6. For people who got complimentary upgrades - did you do anything to get it like speaking with the manager?
  7. Does anybody have experience with getting the resort to make you a boxed lunch or pack up some beer for if you are going on an all day excursion? I've heard that some resorts will do this. If not, does anybody know what hours room service is available? The guys are going on a deep sea fishing trip and will be picked up from the resort at 6:00 AM. I noticed that none of the restaurants are open before that and wondering if they will be able to get breakfast through room service.
  8. Any other November brides out there? I haven't seen any on the roll call.
  9. Do you know anything about it being 'free' for people in the Premium Section? Thanks
  10. Does anybody have a price list for Le Chique for resort guests? I know the prices vary depending on number of courses and if you get wine pairings. I also heard that guests in the Premium section can eat there for free once during their stay. Is this true? Thanks!
  11. Did any of you use something other than numbers for your tables such as names of beaches, Mexican cities, Mexican drinks, etc? If so, what theme did you have and what names did you use? Thanks!
  12. Where did Canadian brides order their sheers from? I saw a previous post that had an Amazon.com link, however they didn't ship to Canada. Thanks in advance.
  13. Does anybody know if white chair covers are still included for a private reception? I read on way back on this thread that they are, but wasn't sure if that was still true.
  14. What did your wedding planner say in regard to prices? Do you know if they charge a conversion fee as well? I just found this online but it is rom 2014. Would love to find something like this for 2016 because it is much more clear and concise! -- http://legacy.karismahotels.com/Portals/0/ASJ-Spa-Prices-2014.pdf
  15. Does anybody have a spa price list that isn't in MXN/pesos? I received Spa Menu that outlines all of the services that are offered and has service descriptions. There are no prices on the spa menu and there is a note on the last page saying that all of the spa services are in USD. However, when I asked for a price list, it was all in Mexican Pesos. I can covert the prices to USD or CAD, but I don't know if they are also charging a conversion fee on top of it. We are planning a group spa day so I want to make sure that that the group has accurate pricing and that there are no surprises. I attached the Spa Menu and Price List as well. menu SPA sensatori.pdf LISTA DE PRECIOS AZUL SENSATORI 2016 PESOS.pdf
  16. Hey ladies (and gents), Just wanted to share this with you. Between our wedding and reception we are going to be having an informal cocktail hour where our guests will go to a restaurant or bar of their choice for drinks and light snacks while the family and bridal party takes photos. We will then have a 4 hour long private reception at Plaza Zavas. I was concerned that 4 hours would not be long enough for the 3 course meal, speeches, first dance, parent dance, cake cutting, dance party, etc. I was told that we could add extra time onto the reception for $15/person/hour which seemed like a lot to me. BUT! I was looking at the cocktail party menu, and realized that you can have a 2 hour long Mexican Cocktail party for as little as $14USD per person. It is 2 hours long with your choice of appetizers and International open bar. I talked to my wedding coordinator and asked if we could do a 'cocktail party' from 9:00-11:00 PM immediately following our reception in the same location as the reception. She said yes, so we will be able to seamlessly transition to the 'cocktail party' without stopping the dance, music, bar, location, etc. The guests won't know that the reception has 'ended' and a 'cocktail party' has 'started'. Plus, we will get 2 hours of open bar and food for less than the cost of a one hour extension. Hope that makes sense
  17. I am from Canada and because of the low Canadian dollar we wanted to be a little more cautious of our spending. We chose to have a plated dinner and picked a chicken option and a beef option (If you have 25+ guests you can choose 2 entrees, plus whatever the chefs vegetarian dish of the day is, but you need to know the numbers in advance and use place cards indication the entree choice). Our chicken dish is $19 per plate and the beef is $24. Where we live in Canada, most couples do buffet style meals for their weddings because plated usually costs much more. Even though we are paying less than the buffet options, I think our guests will think that it actually is more and will enjoy something different. Also, since all of guests are staying at the resort for a week, we figured that they will get their fair share of 'all-you-can-eat'
  18. Hmm.. I don't know why then.. That does seem a little strange.. Sorry I can't help you out
  19. Hey ladies Just FYI -- I got switched to a on-site coordinator about a month ago and haven't heard anything from her since then despite sending multiple emails. I got sick of waiting for a reply, so I called the Miami office to see how I can get in touch with the onsite coordinator. She said that the onsite coordinators are trying to catch up and get in touch with the June/July/August brides right now, so there might be a little bit of a wait for weddings that are after that. However, she also said that she would directly contact my onsite coordinator and let her know that I have a few questions. I got an email right away from the onsite coordinator! If you are having trouble getting in touch, a direct phone call to the Miami office helps!! J Just curious, who is your coordinator?
  20. I just got an email today about being switched to an onsite wedding coordinator as well. Christine was my Miami coordinator and I got switched to Paula onsite. Wedding isn't until November
  21. Hello brides -- I am getting married at the Azul Sensatori on November 16, 2016. I am going to be bringing Real Touch artificial calla lily bouquets with me rather than getting fresh flowers through the resort. The Real Touch flowers are very high quality artificial flowers that look and feel like real flowers. They are crush resistant and can be reshaped if they do get a little smooshed. The cost of bouquets through the resort is so expensive so I figured I would get something that is can be sold afterwards and reused rather than something that will end up in the trash! I will be bringing the following: - 1 bridal bouquet - 3 bridesmaids bouquets - 2 wrist corsages for the moms - 6 boutonnieres for the groom, groomsmen, and dads The flowers will be ivory calla lilies and the wraps on the stems will be champagne coloured. I can bring them back to Canada with me to sell them here, but I figured I would see if there is any other brides that would like to use them before I bring them back to Canada. I will be available to sell them at the resort between Nov 18 and Nov 23. If anybody is interested, let me know and we can chat
