  1. We were in Montego Bay from 10/22-10/26 and the forecast before arriving had thunderstorms everyday. It was gorgeous everyday we were there. The only time it rained was when we were on a plane on the way back home. I have heard when it rains it's very short anyway so I wouldn't worry.

  2. 3 weeks from today is the big day! And we realized we can't afford our photographer.

We're going to borrow his brothers camera and take our own pics I guess lol....ah well such is life.

We didn't want to struggle to pay $1500 for our photographer and we aren't at our best weight wise. I had lost 60lbs prior to the pregnancy but have gained back about 30 and he's gained back some weight as well

We plan to do a vow renewal at some point so I can wear my original dress - so we'll get a photographer for that

At this point I'm just focusing on shopping for Jamaica and hoping the new dress I ordered online fits and looks good! Oh and having a good time while we're there! It's a vacation for us too after all.

When we get back we have a lot of preparing to do for the baby so this time away is definitely needed for both of us

It's also nice knowing I'll have two other preggos to hang out with at the wedding! Lol and funny thing is we're all around the same week wise - maybe a week or two apart! It's an exciting time! ????

Sorry for the long post - just needed to vent I guess.

  3. Thanks everyone! We're excited about the baby :) It's hard losing my mom but thankfully I've got my fiancée for support.

I really am not stressing about people booking late or not going, it's just I'm concerned if they do book and I've already counted them out will the WC not allow any changes if I've already given them a final count?

I am not doing anything extra - still have to pay off the actual wedding package and photographer! Lol. And I still have to renew my own passport and I have to buy another dress now and he still has to get his suit/outfit.

I wish I had the time and money to do OOT bags or something fun but it seems people don't love them anyway. Thank you cards after the wedding will have to suffice, lol.

  4. Well ladies I've been MIA but now our wedding is getting close....50 days until we leave! And I'm still waiting for people to book....how annoying. I'm glad I only plan to do this once! Lol.

A lot has happened in the last few months.....I'm pregnant for starters! I'll be 26 weeks for the wedding, lol. So I'm gonna end up buying a new dress....which sucks bc I loved my dress!

And then in sad news...my mom passed away a few weeks ago :( I kind of thought my parents wouldn't make it anyway for financial reasons but I had hopes at least but now it's definitely a no go.

Stressful times for sure as we are still saving up to pay off the wedding package and photographer! We've paid off our travel agent luckily.

I'm just ready to be there and kind of get it over with! Is that bad?

    Sorry if I rambled....

  5. Thanks girls! So happy that part is done! Now I have 4 extras at home and I was going back and forth about inviting coworkers. There are more than 4 that I would need for coworkers and I don't want to exclude people and make people feel bad.

So I don't know if I am going to print more and deal with the cutting and all that again or just not invite anybody from work. Thing is someone already asked if they could go so I feel bad inviting just her and no one else. Would a fb invite for coworkers be weird? Lol

  6. Hey ladies! So I've been thinking more about the details. How are you all going to stay in contact with your guests since the only wifi is in the lobby? I'm pretty sure we are going to arrive one day before everyone. So I was thinking maybe email everyone when we arrive and know our room number so they can call us in the room when they get to theirs? I still want a welcome type dinner but I want people to be able to contact us when they arrive.

  7. They look great!! :) I really like the font. I feel like I keep changing my fonts for everything haha but there's so many nice ones!

I downloaded the font I used for our names online bc I hated the ones in word lol! Fonts were my struggle for sure!

Helen I didn't care. I thought they'd look better like that then my sad attempt at cutting them. That's just me though.

I feel like I'm just going to leave them as is. Especially bc I have to put the RSVPs together and still have to buy more cardstock for the sleeves. I figure if I'm not going to trim them I should at least have a sleeve lol. I'm wondering what to put on the outside though. Maybe just some stamps or something.

  8. I didn't round my corners. I just did them straight cause I knew I'd blow the job lol

Post a picture. I'm sure they look good!

It wasn't weird having them printed like that with the lines but not cut out? Bc I'm seriously over trying to trim them! Lol. I cut the RSVPs and I punched holes in them so I can add a little ribbon I bought to make them look more like a luggage tag but the invites are killing me! Ugh. I'll post pics. post-278186-142598437614_thumb.jpgpost-278186-142598444863_thumb.jpgpost-278186-14259844604_thumb.jpgpost-278186-142598447162_thumb.jpg

  9. Ok so I had them printed and told the guy I wanted them cut. Silly me I thought he would cut into the exact outline of the invites but he just cut them into squares. We tried trimming at home, we bought x-acto knives and corner cutters and everything but around the smaller corners they look like a kindergartner cut them lol! How did you ladies cut your invites?

  10. I'm trying to just take it one thing at a time. We are going to reduce our photo and wedding packages - so that will save us $1400 right there. We are definitely going to look for cheaper travel packages in a few more months. Just can't wait for everything to be paid off! Then I can relax!

  11. Thanks ladies!

I am DIYing our invitations. I've already done the design I just have to print and mail them!

We probably won't do any favors, hearing that no one noticed makes me feel better if we decide not to have any.

Our guest list is probably going to be small - a lot of people can't go because of cost. Which upset me at first but now we're fine with it bc of the savings! Lol. I'm estimating 20-30 will end up booking.

We aren't adding a formal reception, we're only using what's included in our wedding package. Which includes the semi private dinner and cocktail hour. I read a brides review where she used one of the bars as a private reception of sorts before it opened to the public - for free! And she said it was gorgeous it had an area open to the outside so the space sounds perfect! I was only going off of my paperwork and to rent out the disco you need at least 30 guests and it's an extra like $400 I think including open bar. But if we could do the reception for free I'm all for that!

I may pick up some fabric for sashes for our ceremony and call it a day. Our ceremony will be on the beach so we don't need much decor. I do like the starfish idea for the chairs but if they're too pricey I'm not going to dwell on it. And I am not worried about centerpieces since we're not having a formal reception.

I just can't wait until everything is paid for! Then I can breathe!

Thanks for the support! It's nice to have a place to vent since none of my friends have done a destination wedding and my fiancée wanted to elope to begin with so he doesn't get it....lol.

  12. So I am really starting to worry about costs......the past year I have been the only one working so we haven't saved anything at all, he just started a part time job - it's not much but it's something while he finishes school. Our families aren't contributing bc they don't have the money so it's all us. I know I'll be using my tax refund and I will be getting 60 hours of my PTO from work paid out to me in May which will all go towards the wedding. But I'm worried that we'll be broke leading up to the wedding and when we get home or not have enough to pay off everything. So far all we've done is put deposits down for the resort, photographer, and our travel package (which we bought insurance for, so I'm thinking of checking prices online in a few months to see if there's better deals and cancel our current package). Our travel quote was $3400 for the two of us for a week in Montego Bay in October all inclusive. We are in Houston.

Apart from the travel quote being pricy, I'm freaking out about paying for the wedding and photographer. Luckily I found my dress off the rack so it was only $415. Which I have like $300 to pay off for that. Then we haven't even bought his suit or whatever he will wear, accessories, invites haven't gone out yet. I really wanted to get our guests some kind of favor like a tumbler but I'm afraid we won't be able to afford it

Not having a bridal party was the best idea ever bc if I had to think about all of that too I would be even worse!

I'm trying to stay calm and pray everything works out but I'm just anxious that we won't be able to pay everything off before we leave and it'll be too late to cancel.

We are moving to a new apartment next month which will save us a few hundred dollars per month so I know I'll be able to save from that. And his job will free up some bills so I can save that money. I guess I'm just overthinking everything? Ahhhh!
