  1. Hi ladies,

My family and I will (husband and daughter) will be traveling to Turks and Caicos December 7-11. Other brides have helped me reach my room

nights for my wedding and I would love to return the favor if you are in need of additional guest night counts to get any wedding perks. We won't attend any wedding events. Please let me know if we can be of any help.

  2. thank you so much  @!! I didnt think it would be enough time. The latest we can have the reception outside is 10pm on this terrace, my only other option is to switch back to the ballroom to go later. The beach is also an option, but I don't want it on the beach.

I was thinking if I had the cocktail hosted at the same location as the reception then it will give more "reception time" since people can get to their seats.

Did you feel that a 4pm ceremony still allowed for ample time getting ready? I want to do first looks and bridal party photos before the ceremony.

I am also worried that a 4pm ceremony will leave my guests outside in the sun longer since my wedding is in june and it will be hot.

I believe this terrace is near the pool, which doesnt close until 6, so I'm not sure how private it will be before then, but for just cocktails im not worried about privacy.

I'm thinking I can follow your timeline.

Or maybe move the ceremony to 4:30, possibly 4 might be better

cocktails will start around 5:00- 5:15, by the time they get there

And reception will start around 6:00

I'm hoping with the cocktails and reception in the same location, it will feel like a longer reception?

  3. Hey everyone,

I am having trouble planning my reception location and times. I have a large group of 100-120 people and we are on a budget.

    So,

Our ceremony is planned for 5pm at the Tucan Gazebo.

I originally planned to have the cocktail hour at Tucan terrace and reception in the ballroom.

But then I started hating the ballrooms and didnt want to spend a ton of money trying to decorate it.

    So then,

I moved the reception to the Carribbean terrace (rooftop) but we ouutgrew the space.

So then I asked to have the cocktail and reception at the Grand Terrace. And our timeline would be as follows:

    Ceremony 5-6

    Cocktail 6-7

Reception 7-10 (10 is the latest we can go)

My concern is that with a three hour reception, there wont be enough time to have everything done, dances, cake cutting, toasts, and party.

    I just need some help.

We are having a welcome dinner the night before and I am thinking of hiring our videographer for it and we can do speeches then.

Any help would be highly appreciated. I am kind of feeling like I shouldve stuck to the ballroom, as I know my guests will want to keep the party going.

    Thank you

Don't let the vendor fees scare you. Once you start contacting outside vendors you'll learn that they can be cheaper even with the vendor fees. Also many outside vendors give special discounts to Palace Brides because of these fees. For DJ we hired dj discomovil, saves us almost $1000. For photography we hired Ivan Luckie gives us more for 8 hours at a lesser cost what dream art provides for three hours. For videography we hired love works cinemas.

OKAY ladies I am still waiting to be assigned a WC!!! I was wondering who everyone who is booked with Moon Palace is choosing for their Videography and photography. I feel like DreamArt is over priced. But It seems like that might be my only options as it would be too expensive to pay the outside vendor fee $800. Is there a top secret one that Moon Palace approves but fail to mention to us at first. Once I get my WC I am hoping she will help with this. But if you are going through this now how did it work for you.

  5. @@AngDima the wedding was lovely. As a guest I really enjoyed the resort, the only complaint we had as many of the other guests is that the couple did not allow for us to have down time. They literally had something planned the entire time. Other than that the staff was awesome, the jerk hut at the pool was my favorite, the Italian restaurant was very good. I didnt care for the buffet. I ate breakfast each morning at the open air restaurant, I cant remember the name. The beach is lovely and the water is nice and clear. Theres a trampoline in the water. The drinks are also made great. I found it weird that there werent any wristbands required. The Hyatt Ziva lounge at the airport was also great, especially for catching your breath after going through customs. It is about a 10-15 minute ride from the airport to the hotel. When we arrived, they brought us outside and handed us cocktails and our room keys. They literally scratched our names off a list and had our keys waiting for us. They do place a credit card hold on rooms. I believe it was $50 US.

The area is secluded, not much in walking distance, theres a shopping area further down the road, I didnt explore it. The Hyatt is across the street from the Great Witch House, which is one of the major attractions in the area. We didnt go, so I cant review it, we toured another plantation and did ATV and Zipline there as a group excursion. We also went out two nights to the clubs, about a 20-30 minute ride from the hotel. Be prepared to be charged at least $20 per person cash for a round trip taxi ride from the hotel. One girl in the group rode by herself to the club and was charged $40 for a roundtrip ride.

  6. @@TheBHolders, Our wedding is just a week apart. I went with Ivan Luckie. Just wondering who you went through. Also How is all the planning going for you. I been looking for a indoor reception information since the 10pm curfew time for the other locations seem outrageous. My family likes to party so cutting my wedding off by 10 will be an issue lol.

Sorry for my late reply. Im.not receiving updates from here anymore. I'm not sure why. I hired ivan luckie for photography and loveworkscinemas for video. Their prices are very reasonable. Our ceremony is at 5 at tucan gazebo, cocktail right after at toucan Terrace, and Reception in the ballroom. I went to a wedding in jamaica and the reception was outside, it was nice but soooooo hot. If you're looking into the ballroom, I'm told they now charge a fee depending on when you signed your contract. JUST A Heads up. Other than that planning is going. I'm working on getting my invites out soon

  7. I actually spoke to my wedding coordinator today and was surprised when she told me it was $30 per head for use of the ballroom. I too was sure my contract only states other outdoor locations being an additional cost. I'm going to have another look over my contract as this will bump our costs up by approx. $1500.

When did you sign your contract? I received information today that this policy was implemented in December 2014, so if you signed your contract before that the fee doesn't apply

  8. Has anyone heard that Palace is now charging a fee to use the ballrooms starting at $1000 depending on the group size? I saw it mentioned in a Facebook group a few weeks ago and everyone I came across said there was no fee. So i contacted my wedding coordinator and she confirned. She said the policy was implemented in October 2014. I love how I had to ask first to get this information. I signed my contract in September 2014. Since then the outside vendor fee for photographers was lowered to $400 however since my contract says $800 the $800 still applies. I plan to fight Palace on this and I won't hesitate to move my wedding to hard rock. I have about 50 guests booked.
