  1. @Kristina Simms Thanks for the informative post! Good advice in there! Hey Ladies - Does anyone know a good Dominican Republic candy? I have these small place cards for everyone's names, and they are a kind of cylinder that can hold small candies, like M&M's. I'd love to fill it with a local DR candy. Any good options? Thanks!
  2. @ duchovny0901, @ Jahanee Conner, @ Kristina Simms, @ EVKnowsitall, @ Marbear0503, @ jldinapoli, @ meganjune, @ dr2015 Hey all! FOUR months away and now the stress and anxiety are starting to set in! Some more random questions!! 1. What size sashes do they use? Is anyone bringing their own? Can they move then from the ceremony chairs to the reception chairs? Is it doubled, ceremony and reception? 2. On the spreadsheet for the DIVINE Package, anyone know what the following items are: "Lounge Area 6 pax” "Lighted bar" "LED light" 3. Suggestions for cheap alternatives for pomanders? 4. The Do Not Disturb Honeymoon Package. Anyone have this or know what it is/includes? 5. Does anyone know if guests can have their suits and dresses steamed/ironed at the resort? I'm sure there would be a fee for it but a few of the ladies coming keep asking and I don't have an answer! 6. Did anyone do fireworks at their receptions? I havent seen any pictures of it and would love to know how it turned out! Thanks everyone! You have been my lifesavers!
  3. @ duchovny0901, @ Jahanee Conner, @ Kristina Simms, @ EVKnowsitall, @ Marbear0503, @ jldinapoli I FINALLLLLLLLLLLLLY got in touch with my WC Luisa Miranda! She answered some of my questions, but of course, I have a million more, and you ladies have been my go-to’s! Haha. #1 - She told me that we can make reservations at the a la carte restaurants for up to 25 people. Has anyone done this (or is thinking of doing this) for their Rehearsal Dinner, instead of buying and paying for the Rehearsal Dinner package? #2 - We are planning on the Divine Wedding Package.... I know we won't be able to deduct the cost of the free Your Moments wedding from this, but she mentioned something about the Do Not Disturb Honeymoon Package. Anyone have this or know what it is/includes? #3 - I'm looking for some decent quality but inexpensive items for my Welcome Bags. Does anyone have any leads/websites/suggestions for the following items? 1. Insulated tumbler cups 2. Folding bamboo fans 3. Custom coozies 4. Waterproof room key/money holders 5. Kids snorkel sets #4 – Everything I read previously stated there was a Casino in the resort. It seems they’ve remodeled their website and now I don’t see anything about it! Can anyone shed some light on this, does it still exist? Lol. My fiance’s family is big on gambling and I’d hate to tell them I was wrong! #5 – Has anyone thought of live-streaming their wedding online for family and friends who couldn’t make it to the resort? Thanks, everyone!
  4. @Kristina Simms and @EVKnowsitall Thanks!! We are still waiting to hear on the judge. I guess I'm just concerned that if we get married legally at home, I might feel bad asking people to travel for a symbolic ceremony since a few aunts and uncles don't come from money. It's a tough call for us, but, it just depends on the judge at this point! I found out my WC today is Luisa Miranda. She sent my travel agent a PDF version of the Excel spreadsheet everyone else seems to have. So I can't put my decisions in and have it calculated, so strange. I'm emailing her to figure this out. Does anyone else have her? A few random questions for everyone or anyone who can answer, lol... 1. We wanted to select the Divine Wedding Package, but the spreadsheet we received only contains the Your Moments Wedding Package. Has anyone else run into this? 2. What are the room keys like at the resort? Are they cards you slide or actual metal keys? 3. Do we know what the type of money is used there (someone said Pesos, is that correct?) 4. Is there an ATM or Currency Exchange on the resort grounds? 5. Do the a la carte restaurants take reservations? How far in advance can you book? 6. Do we have access to the DREAMS restaurants, or is this only if you stay in the Preferred Club? 7. If we bring our own cups to the resort so our drinks will stay colder for longer, will the bartenders be ok filling those up? Thanks everyone!!!
  5. @Jahanee Conner, thank you! I really with I had a WC assigned already! It's frustrating to not be able to ask them questions, but you have been very helpful in her absense! Do you know if this is the same for a beach reception rather than a restaurant reception? @Kristina Simms, thanks! My ceremony is a beach ceremony at 6 and I am thinking we may want it earlier. Were they pretty accommodating when you requested to change the time? We are having a civil ceremony. Or possibly getting married by a judge earlier in the day (doing the paperwork), then going to have a symbolic ceremony that evening. I haven't been able to get any information on the judge other than he can do it at some point in the day, haha! Definitely let me know about substitutions on the menu. It seems silly to not be able to pick cheaper options. I'd still pay the same price, just want different things. Thank you, Ladies!
  6. Thanks @Kristina Simms and @futuredejesus! It is Thursday, May 22, 2014. One of the issues now is that I want a sit-down dinner on the beach, but they say the can only accommodate up to 35 guests, anything above that will be buffet-only. We have about 40 now so I am hoping they can work with us. My travel agent is still waiting to hear who my wedding coordinator will be, so you all seem to be acting as my temporary WCs which I truly appreciate! Does anyone know.... For a 6pm beach ceremony: What time is the ceremony? What time is the cocktail hour? What time is the reception? What time is the reception over? Can we mix and match menu options? We are taking the Divine Package but want some food options from the Silver and Gold. Is this substitution allowed? Has anyone had a rehearsal dinner? We don't have too large of a group but I'm not sure if one of the restaurants will take a reservations for 40, or if it is something we would have to book separately. Thanks EVERYONE!
  7. Thanks everyone! This information is much appreciated! Has anyone had their ceremony and reception on the actual beach? I'm wondering why there is a need for a dance floor to be built, or if we could just dance in the sand? Any thoughts?

I still don't know who my wedding coordinator is yet.... I know the process on just about everything is a little slower down there.... I'm hoping that it's free like the guide says. A $5k surprise is not something I want to encounter!

  10. Hey there. This is the fourth time I've seen thins $5k to reserve a restaurant. I didnt see this in any material from the resort nor hear about it from my travel agent. Could you please explain in more detail what this is for? I put a deposit down for May 22, 2014, beach ceremony and beach restaurant reception. Thanks!
  11. Thank you! We became confused by the Now Larimar's interactive map (http://www.nowresorts.com/larimar/map.html). It shows the back rooms by a large lake, and then on Google Maps, the large lake is verrrrrrry far back, it's the area circled in purple. So if it's just the area in red, then it's the same size as Secrets? We have some non-mobile adults and young children, a .5 mile walk would not be ok for them. I'm just so nervous to book without seeing the place! Did you feel that way?
  12. Hey there. Can anyone tell me if this is an average sized resort compared to others in the area? Google Maps shows it could span as long as .5 miles back in length, which would make it bigger than Melia, but half the amount of rooms. Can anyone shed some light on the size? I've reserved a May 22, 2014 -6pm- beach wedding followed by a beach reception. I'm still on the fence though as it has been weeks since my travel agent has heard from the resort. So any info would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks so much!
  13. Hi All! What a great website! I've learned so much. I have a tentative date of May 22, 2014 at the Now Larimar. I am scheduled for a 6pm Beach civil ceremony, followed by a Beach Restaurant reception. I am planning on the Divine Package and really excited! However, I definitely have some questions after reading reviews, and my travel agent doesn't answer them fully. I'm hoping someone can assist! 1. Is the resort just the area circled in Red, or does it go all the way back to the area in purple? We have some non-mobile adults and young children, and we can't have them walking distances each time. I am realllllllllllly hoping it's just the area in the red, becaise by measuring the map, the furthest part of the purple circle is HALF A MILE! 2. Had anyone else had issues with their ceremony being cut short by the resort? After reading some reviews, I am concerned that they might shorten my reception time given that the DJ needs to be at the Club for the 10pm opening. With a 6pm ceremony, there'd be no time left! 3. I was planning on a beach wedding, but so many people seem to love and recommend the gazebo. Does anyone 4. Can anyone who has had a reception at the beach restaurant can offer suggestions? 5. My fiance and I aren't huge into pictures. About how much time was spent on pictures between the ceremony and reception? Thank you all so much! Even if I don't get a reply from you, just know your previous posts and comments have helped me greatly already and I truly appreciate it! Have a great week!
