  1. Same here! I am really hoping to have the 75 room nights for private events so that we can do that and maybe a morning after brunch and/or welcome dinner. If you qualify for unlimited private events do you know how the food works for that?
  2. Is anyone on here having a reception when you come back home rather than a full reception at MP? We are having one two weeks after we return, so I don't want to pay a bunch of extra money to do form reception related things at the resort, but I don't want to just disperse everyone after the ceremony. I am thinking just use the dinner reservation and then go dancing at the disco afterward. Just wondering if there are others doing something similar and how they're going about it Thanks!

  4. What a great review! My off site coordinator is Renee as well. Glad to her your interaction went well. You made a beautiful bride! This got me so excited for my wedding. I forwarded your review to my whole bridal party to get them pumped!
  5. I think this was discussed previously in the thread, but I'm sure people are now further along in planning and we have some new people on here. Are any of you taking someone with you for photography? We were planning on just using the one at the resort, but we made a package deal with someone local that we couldn't really turn down. If they are staying at the MP there is no extra fee right?
  6. Finally made a photographer decision! After going back and forth we decided on taking someone local with us instead of using someone in Mexico. We couldn't beat the prices she gave us. FI doesn't understand quite yet that it'll be better in the long wrong, but I care about photos a lot as I'm sure all of you ladies do, and I want someone I feel comfortable with and can easily communicate what I want. Thanks for all of the inspiration links for color suggestions! I found some photos of a wedding that was really bright aqua/turquoise with pops of red. The blue has to be the right shade to not make it look patriotic, but its fabulous. I am still loving navy/coral and navy/orange though. I might have to look at bridesmaid dresses to actually decide.
  7. I still can't decide! I've seen some pics of a coral/navy color scheme that I love. I have also been crazy about orange lately, but I don't know what I'd pair it with. I am hoping something will jump out and scream PICK ME in a magazine or something soon haha. My fiance keeps saying pink and brown, and he never has opinion on anything so I feel like I should consider it, but I don't think brown is very beachy? I mint green as well. As you can tell I'm struggling with this lol. By the way I followed your link further back in the thread to check out your STD's. They are absolutely fabulous!!!
  8. I'm glad to hear a positive opinion someone has about MP who has been there! My future sister-in-law is a Palace member, so they get awesome deals through any of those resorts. You might check out Beach Palace, Aventura, or Sun Palace if you haven't already. When you stay at one of those you also get free shuttles to any of the other Palace resorts throughout your trip. Dreams Riviera and NOW Jade were both in my top choices as well! I was very close to booking Dreams it seems gorgeous. NOW Jade has awesome reviews on this site. I had to stop looking at TripAdvisor so much as I freaked out over every bad review a place I liked received lol. Keep me updated on your decision making!!!
  9. Can't wait to see your STD's! I'm so glad to hear that others are having the same thoughts as me! So you can book your ceremony location this early? I was under the impression I had to wait for all that until 90days out when the planning actually starts. We are doing the complimentary ceremony. I filled out the contract yesterday, and it didn't seem like there were any extra costs on it, phew. I've heard complaints about people not getting their refunds back in a timely manner for the comp nights they earned through having so many room nights. I hope we don't have those troubles. Anything you learn please share! Have you booked your room block yet?
  10. I'm glad to know somebody is in the same boat! Are you going to celebrate your Cancun date as your actual anniversary? Our ceremony is set for 6 PM too. I can't wait to hear how that goes for you all! What section of MP are you staying in?Are you guys having a private reception or a reserved section in a restaurant? I don't want to spend much extra money on reception type things since we are having one when we come home.
  11. We are having the same slight problem! My fiance's parents are asking me if we are going to let immediate family come to the courthouse...and I'm like well doesn't that defeat the purpose for anyone to see that and then go to Mexico? We are doing it simply because I didn't really want to do the blood test, pay for the translation, and be there so many days ahead of time. I really wish we were though, because i want the real deal to be in front of everyone. I kind of wish we hadn't told anyone at all about the symbolic so that wouldn't be an issue haha, but I'm not telling anyone other than our parents
  12. I was wanting to do the passport idea too! I haven't looked at the prices yet though. Yeah we are going to do all the legalities here and have a symbolic ceremony in Mexico. Are you guys doing the same?
  13. yeah I'd like to get save the dates out pretty early too. What do yours look like? Right now I'm haggling with Apple on our room rates. Are you using a TA or going straight through the resort. It is kind of unnerving that you can't really plan your wedding until 90 days out! Are you have a reception back home?
  14. Thanks! I am getting so excited! We just booked our at home reception as well. Finally feels real!
