just wanted to let everyone know we ended up making an event on facebook and here's what I said- Hey Everyone!! We're getting married! We have started the process of making wedding invitations and need everyone's address. The wedding will be in Riviera Cancun, Mexico. We are pricing it right now starting around $1000 for 4 nts with flight per person. We will be staying 7 nts and we found it for $1500 with an ocean view suite. You should let me know what she tells you- I was also wondering about this. The way I took it was that as long as you have some sort of seating chart or way to distinguish who picked what meal ahead of time then you can pick 2.

We ended up deciding to skip the save the dates- I really wanted them but I figured it was money to be saved and just do invites right away with all the info so everyone can start saving or booking.. I'm really having trouble figuring out centerpieces so once you find something you should let me in on what you are going with.. I love the tall cylinder vases with water and flowers in it but have no clue how I would get them to Mexico without them possibly breaking. We are going with a turquoise blue and purple theme. What are your colors?

We have the date booked for May 24, 2014!! I have a long time before I have to start planning out little details but am too excited and want to figure everything out! I was wondering what past or future brides are doing about photography. I'm thinking I for sure want a photographer other than the resorts but we have a tighter budget so the gorgeous photos by delsol won't be an option either.. haha Also I am wanting to order some flowers the resorts seem to be a little overpriced..

Jzutz- did you just go ahead and send her the two courses and seating chart with it or did you ask first to make sure it was okay to pick two? I just don't know how to go about asking her.. Also I was thinking I would make place cards with whatever course option they pick and have the guests grab them so they can sit where they want.. Do you think that would be okay?

I seen some of you put on here Anel let you pick two main course dinner options for the guests. I was just wondering how you went about being able to pick two since on the wedding planner form it says you can only pick one. I would really like to be able to give my guests 2 main course options to choose from.

Hey Everyone!!! I finally got my date booked at the resort! So exciting and takes a lot of stress off- I couldn't even come up with a number of all the resorts I've been looking at.. The only thing that worries me is the communication with Anel seems to be a problem for getting answers to questions so I'm hoping I'll be able to get help from all of you and I'll try to help in return when I can! I'm still trying to decide between the eternity and divine package. Does anyone know what kind of reception is included in these packages if any or do you have to pay for music and open bar once the dinner is done? I'm just not sure it's worth an extra $500 if the only extra things included is the video service which I don't really care for anyways and the dinner on the beach and 45 minute guitarist.. We have a kind of tight budget and want to be able to have a first dance and father daughter/mother son dance at least; just sucks if we have to pay for open bar for all of our guests on top of the package price

Hey everyone! We finally are getting ready to make invitations and needing to get addresses from friends. I was thinking we could send out emails to our friends on Facebook asking for their addresses and at the same time get an idea of if they would even consider coming since its going to be a destination wedding and a little on the pricey side. I'm needing help on what to say in the email I don't want to come off rude but I also don't want to spend money on a bunch of invitations to friends that wouldn't even consider coming. Any examples or help on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hello everyone! This may be a weird question but from looking at all the pictures it seems like this resort is in a tighter cove and all the pictures I have found of weddings here so far seem to have a strip of land in the background instead of ocean horizon. Does anyone know if this is how all the weddings are set up here or is there some way you could have the ocean in the background?

Also, If anyone could help me out with recommending a TA and a good website that has cheap invitations that would be great! Thanks!

Hello everyone!! I'm so excited I think I finally figured out that I for sure want my wedding to be at Barcelo Maya. I have been trying to get a hold of the wedding coordinator at the resort to see if the date I'm wanting is available and the extra pricing options but I can't find a direct email address and have emailed the resort and basic Barcelo wedding email several times with no response form the wedding coordinator. I want to get everything going to help out my guests so they'll have extra time to save up and plan. If anyone can provide me with an email address of the wedding coordinator at Barcelo maya that would be great! I can't wait to get everything figured out, this seems like it would be the perfect resort. Thank you!

Does anybody have 2014 extra options price list? Also does anyone know if the resort accommodates to celiac disease. I've found some other resorts have gluten free menu options but I haven't been able to find anything on this resort.
