  1. Jennelle: We'll have to track each other down and have a drink to toast our nuptials:-)
  2. Don't forget to breathe and relax :-) I had a friend get so stressed out for her destination wedding that she didn't enjoy herself leading up to the wedding....and nobody noticed except her when something was wrong. I'm determined to not sweat the small stuff :-) Hope you have a beautiful wedding, and everything falls into place :-)
  3. We're January 9th....and will be there from the 5th til the 12th :-) Can't believe we leave in less than 100 days! We're January 9th, and will be there the 5th til the 12th....so we'll just miss each other! Hope you have a beautiful wedding!
  4. cinthyamaria, I have some pictures of the resort and gazebo area I can send you...I also have the information Stephany gave us while there giving the different options for packages (although the prices are probably different than stated). Do you have an email I can send them to?
  5. Possibly! I'm not sure what our travel dates are yet....but I'm sure we'll be there past the 11th!
  6. I was there for a site visit in December....and did not see anybody get married on the beach side of the gazebo. It's fairly rocky where they have the ceremony, so you probably wouldn't be able to have your toes in the sand anyway. However, the gazebo is beautiful as it overlooks the water----and it's fairly private as most resort-goers stay on the sandy side of the beach way on the other side of the resort:)
  7. Me too...on January 9, 2014; when is your date? Have you been to the resort before? It's a gorgeous area for a wedding! To answer your questions: the gazebo you rented for the party/dance is the same one as for the ceremony. The resort doesn't really set up any decorations (I'm sure they will if you pay an arm and a leg), and when I was there in December it looked as though there was some lighting already there (sort of like lanterns) around the gazebo area. The resort was very busy when we were visiting in December, but that side of the resort was never crowded...I think it's because it's the rocky beach side! Congratulations and happy planning!
  8. Hi all! Congratulations to all the brides here! I have read quite a few threads on this site, but have just now became a member! All the advice is awesome, and I'm so happy this site exists! I am getting married January 9, 2014, at GBP in Runaway Bay....any other brides getting married here at that time? My fiance and I had the opportunity to do a site visit in December, and absolutely fell in love! The resort is so big with so much to do....that you and your guests will never be bored! While there we met with the assistant wedding planner, Stephany, who went through some of the details. We emailed her on 1-2-13 to reserve our wedding date of 1-9-14, and it only took a couple of days to hear back from her. One thing I have found that helps is emailing both the WP and the AWP....that way at least one person gets back to you promptly. Any questions I have emailed have been answered within a couple of days. It is true that they are definitely on island time there....but they are also super busy! We were only there for 4days in December, and we saw at least two weddings every day! I look forward to hearing about others' big day....and am more than happy to share any information I have as well!
