  1. I have been engaged now for over a year. My fiance and I wanted to enjoy being engaged so we decided to take our time and plan the wedding of our dreams! We have now had our date set for 10 months (Late June 2013) and identified my parent's cabin as our venu from the get-go. Three days ago my sister got engaged. She told me that she was thinking that she wanted to have a simple backyard wedding which sounded great! I was so excited for her. Last night we went bridesmaid dress shopping for my wedding, while we were shopping she told me that she was hoping to get married this July - so it would be 4 weeks after mine. I couldn't help but be a little dissappointed. Then a few moments later she dropped the bomb that she also wanted to get married up at my parent's cabin. So essentially, she would be getting married at the same venu, 4 weeks after my wedding. I can't help but feel like she has taken away the excitement surrounding my wedding, and that she has totally stolen my thunder. I want to talk to her about it without sounding like a brat, so any advice or thoughts would be so helpful!

I can't help but feel like she is completely overshadowing all of the excitement our family was feeling, and that she is stealing the thunder away from my special day. I want to find a way to talk to her about it but do not know how to say it without sounding like a brat. Any thoughts or advice would be helpful!
  3. I have been engaged now for a year and have been planning my dream wedding up at our family cabin. It has taken a lot of planning and organization...Our wedding day is set for late June. Three days ago my sister got engaged. While we were out bridesmaid dress shopping for my wedding last night, my sister told me that she was planning on getting married THIS July, and they were going to have their wedding up at our cabin too. Her reasoning was that it would be a non-traditional, small wedding with just family. I can't help but feel like she is completely stepping on my toes and stealing all of the excitement away from my wedding. I want to talk to her in a tactful way without sounding like a brat. Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated!
