I married at the Secrets St. James/Wild Orchid resort in April 2014 and used Damian & Paula of Sun Gold Photography. I loved them. They were really easy to work with and family and friends LOVED the pictures. I have received so many comments and compliments from their work. The money was well worth it. These were memories that I want to have for a lifetime. I have posted a few pictures in my gallery..but here are a few.

Here is my ceremony (Winnie Couture strapless with mermaid bottom) and reception dress (strapped Katie May Collection with open back) . Yes i pretty much had 2 wedding dresses lol i fell in love with both and couldn't decide so i wore one for the ceremony and one for the reception. I got married December 2013 in Jamaica. This site def helped me create my dream wedding!

I booked Rashel for Nov 8th I've heard good things.

You won't be disappointed! shes amazing! she did my wedding Dec 2013 and she made my girls and i look flawless!!!

I'm hoping to have Dwayne Watkins! I've received several quotes from other photographers but I'm still waiting for his! Fingers crossed he's not crazy priced!

His price is higher than some of the others mentioned in this thread, however, you get what you pay for! My photos are AMAZING and captured everything in the best way possible. the colors, the poses, the overall presentation of my pictures was the best money we spent. Dwayne and his assistant were def a blessing!  I've read some reviews of people going with cheaper photographers and not being happy with their choice. That's def a day you will never get back, but your photos will last a lifetime! ALso, they are super professional and had fun shooting our guests! He's very create as well!

Thank you so much! Jans Flowers did my floral and decor, she recommended a lady to do the cake but i went thru Jans. for purchasing it. Congrats to you as well! have a blast planning! and most importantly enjoy the wedding day. it goes by super fast!!!! lol

@@muneera0302  Did you pay the vendor fee for Rashel Edwards or did you pay to have her stay the resort for a night? She gave me both options, but couldn't figure out the best one. 

 

Also with Jan's Flowers, were they reasonably priced?

I did the vendor fee but see which is cheaper. FYI she is AMAZING as well. she did airbrush and my girls and myself and the makeup was flawless! many partied after the weddign and majority of us slept with their makeup on accidently and woke up FLAWless lol not that you would want to sleep with makeup on lol

Also, Jans Flowers did a gorgeous job on the flowers. I brought alot of decorations myself and Jan herself was there setting up everything. I gave her photos of the look i was going for and it turned out great. The price was cheaper than Tai floral. I would not recommend her being the wedding coordinator, but for decor she is fantastic. We spent alot of money on our flowers because of the type of floral arrangements i wanted. but there are several options to cut cost by choosing different floral arrangements. I used Dwayne Watkins and i can honestly say that it was some of the best money spent! He captured our wedding and the photos look AMAZING!!!! our wedding is on his blog. I also received all my photos superfast after the wedding.

Which person at the spa did your hair? Did they also do your makeup? Also- I noticed you had your reception by one of the pools, was there an extra charge for this? Did you hire an outiside DJ? Your pictures turned out absolutely GORGEOUS!

Thank you. I can't remember the lady at the spa but i just went there and told them i needed someone to style my hair (with body and curls at the ends) and they gave me whoever was available. As for makeup, i used Rashel Edwards. she does airbrushing and is super friendly and professional. But more importantly she is AMAZING when it comes to makeup!   We stayed at Secrets Wild Orchid but had our wedding and ceremony next door at Seawind Beach CLub, that's why you saw my reception tables surrounding the pool. We rented out the entire club so we could have our private wedding/ceremony. Also, DJ was hired outside as well, Julian Chin provided the DJ and lighting for me. We used outside vendors for everything except the food, that was thru Seawind Beach club (flowers were Jans Flowers, and cake I cant remember off top the name but Jans Flowers recommended them to me). Let me know if you have any other questions. Oh and i used the cleaning service at Secrets to steam my dresses and my husbands suit.

Has anyone gotten their hair and makeup done at secret? How was it and do you have any pictures? Thanks for the help! Id love to do and outside makeup artist but then id have to pat 300 for a vendor fee plus 300 for my photographer, it gets a bit rediculous!

I got my hair done at secrets salon. I have natural hair. I can't remember her name but my hair turned out great. She flat ironed and curled my hair. I posted link for pics of my wedding on one of these forums, check my postings.

aw thank you! he was pricey but honestly the best money we spent. The actual wedding day passed soooooooo fast! i didn't even remember some of the things the pics captured! lol wish you the best!

@@ylan9383 i had 100 guests and we made about 80 adults and 20 kids. it was def alot of work but i worked on it throughout the year. I also brought decorations down so i had several suitcases with just wedding related stuff (and had  some family members bring a suitcase down with them). worked out pretty cheap actually. And use your bridesmaids/friends to make stuff, that's what they are they for ;-)

Has anyone done diy aloe containers.  I found 3 packs of travel bottles at the dollar tree, and going to fill them myself and put labels on them  Any suggestions for label sayings?

I used dollar tree aloe hand sanitizer, it was 3 pack for $1. guests def used them. i changed the labels as well. i'll put up a review this week, got married a month ago in jamaica and haven't had time to do review, but i did alot of diy! lol

does anyone have any good suggestions on affordable beach bags?

I purchased drawstring backpacks from www.totallypromotional.com  pink for the ladies and black for the guys. I'll be doing a review soon on my wedding (it was a month ago) and it will include details of everything i did. (also, the guys black bags were larger than the ladies, def recommended since guys are usually bigger than ladies :-)). I uploaded my own design to the site when i ordered.

I used etsy for my invitations.  I had an idea in mind, drew it and sent it to an artist- Whirlibird.  That shop then converted my drawing into a digital file that I was able to DL at home and print at staples.  Saved a ton of money and is unique bc I designed it

 

the artist did a great job. only complaint is the slow response time.

@@muneera0302 @@krisdaversa I just spent the better part of 10 minutes trying to recreate how i added those pictures to my post and for the life of me cannot figure out how I did it. I don't think I ever added any photos the old way. I blame my brain fart on the fact that it's Friday! : )

@@muneera0302 I hear ya on the posting of pictures! I think the only way to do it is to add the pictures to your gallery and then add them? or at least thats how I was able to do it but loved the old way better!

Ok that worked! i added an image to my gallery then when posting, clicked "my media" and selected the image. Def having a brain slow moment myself lol just have to get used to this new format. By the way, i had my wedding 3 weeks ago and i'll be posting a review this weekend. Found some good stuff on etsy as well :-)

Yes sweetheart table is definitely better and more intimate than bridal party table. also, your bridal party can sit with their spouses, bf/gf, or friends! 

I havent bought them yet, but I plan to get one of these for each of my bridesmaids..

Hi ladies. I just got back from my wedding in Jamaica 3 weeks ago. I used Rashel Edwards! I can't describe in words how amazing her work was! She was so professional and such a sweetheart! It was my first time getting airbrush done (which she does) and it lasted way longer than regular makeup application! Since i've gotten back i noticed this format has changed. i'm trying to upload a pic but it's only saying "url"....i'll do a review this week on everything i experienced!  but you can see my makeup on my IG page @muneera_o

I have a couple in my radar who Im really excited about but I will look into Merrick Cousley for sure, got some quotes too! I cant believe the mess and nightmare Dwayne has put us in and all because my baby needs an operation and I needed to change the date before we signed anything that would lock us in. I would never put my wedding before my sons health, not even if he offered me the day for FREE.

Hi! I just wanted to put this out there. I posted awhile back on this thread that i decided to go with Dwayne Watkins and honestly that was the BEST decision my husband and i made!!! I can't stress enough to future brides that you want to make sure you have a great photographer. Photos/videos are the ONLY thing you will have after your big day to showcase your lifechanging experience! i cried when i saw my pictures. Things did not go exactly as i planned but the way my wedding was captured in my photos reminded me that i indeed had my dream wedding with my husband family and friends :-) Dwayne was very professional and gave my husband alot of great advice to help us make our day run smoothly. Also, some things went unexpected ( such as my cake fell over at the beginning of the reception, still have no idea how it happened, wind, weather...no clue) and Dwayne stepped in the help coordinate when that was not his job at all, and at the same time still managed for him and his assistant to take photos of everything lol ! My husband and I were truly thankful to have genuine people around us.

My wedding was 3 weeks ago . i used Dwayne Watkins and i can say that he was AMAZING!!!! i can't brag enough about his work. SUper friendly and professional. He also help make sure that my wedding ran smoothly! My opinion from my experience is make sure you have a great photographer, whoever you decide to go with. don't listen to people when they say don't waste your money. at the end of the day, all your guests, decor, experience will only be remembered and captured if you have a great photographer. That should be one thing that you spend money on! your day goes by so fast, like seriously way too fast.

We are by no means MODELS, but our photos differ :-) you can see some of my wedding pics on his site. you can also see my instagram page, i've posted some of those pics and you can see how many comments and likes it has received, from people i don't even know. I will do a review this week on everything, be sure to check it out and hopefully it can be helpful for you based on what i experienced!
