  1. I had a budget but that went out the window so I couldn't tell u the total cost. We went with menu 1. And lowest package cost since I had a lot of guests. We did the fire show which everyobe lived and the dj is on point with the music selection for your crowd. All of the decor is included in the set up cost except for fresh flowers for the center pieces which we had. I'll try to post pics once I get some
  2. I invited about 300 guests. I have a large family. But most couldn't make it. With destination, you have to expect at least 50 percent of guests won't make it due to costs.
  3. I just got back from my June 29 wedding and let me tell you ladies, it was by far the best wedding my guests attended (their words not mine). And that includes the states. I had about 86 guests including children and it was the perfect size. Any more, the lower level would have been too cramped (my opinion). So if you wanted to host more guests, I would highly recommend using the entire restaurant (which we didn't do). There were guests dining during our reception, but no one could tell!! So you don't need to spend the money unless you really have to. Mayte is beyond exceptional at what she does. Please do not stress and do not keep bothering her with emails. I would wait until you get close to your wedding date and send her an email with all of your questions. DO NOT WORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She really knows what she is doing. She has A LOT of years of experience and believe me, she does a BETTER job than planners I've seen in the U.S. Her attention to detail is unmatched. All of my guests were wowed by the decor, food, and all around ambiance. My wedding turned out better than I even envisioned it to be. And this is what Mayte creates. So don't hound her with constant emails because you are doing yourself a disservice. Let her control the planning because she will do a 1000 percent better job than you envision for yourself. And this is coming from years of wedding experience myself. Just bring a good crowd with you and your day will be magical.
  4. I would discourage against a buffet. The restaurant is really not that big, so I don't think this would be a good idea in terms of set-up. Also, the presentation of the food is phenomenal and your guests wouldn't get that with a buffet.
  5. The MC from the JellyFish does a wonderful job flowing the reception so don't worry. And he speaks perfect English. No need to stress about this at ALL!
  6. How did you go about booking the bridal suite? Do you have any pics of the suite?
  7. I found my TA through my cousin who attended a few destination weddings and was the TA for thise. She's based in New York and is a total doll. Her name is Meteria and her email is htorganizers@gmail.com. Tell her Henderson wedding sent you.
  8. Thanks for the info! Maybe I should contact one of the corrdinators. Not sure how they will feel since I cancelled my wedding there to do it at the JellyFish :-/
  9. Hi ladies, I am going to be staying at now larimar for my wedding week, but getting married at jellyfish. How would I go about booking the bridal suite? Also, for those who did a welcome dinner. How difficult would it be to reserve tables for 80 guests in the buffet?
  10. Sorry I forgot pricing: $89 dollars plus shipping charges. Will ship to Canada also!

  13. For any past brides, is the beach around the Jellyfish pretty clean? I've seen some photog pics where I noticed alot of seaweed and bottles in the back, but I am not sure if those were taken at the jellyfish. We are really looking for a nice and clean area of the beach to take some awesome daylight pics at. Please let me know. Thanks!
  14. Thanks Mimiq for all of your answers! You have been such a great help. I have a question, do you think the restaurant will comfortably sit 100 adults and 8 children? I have a large group going to DR for our wedding and am not sure if budget will permit us to reserve the entire restaurant. Do you think everyone could sit on the lower level? Also, if other patrons are there, do you think their dining will interrupt our group or do you not really notice they are there?
  15. Hi I'm new to this thread. I am scheduled to get married June 29, 2013 at the JellyFish! I am so excited because I have seen all of the beautiful pictures and the work Mayte has created and I feel this is a better fit for our wedding than the resort. Initially we were planning to do everything at Now Larimar, but when I came across the JellyFish, I was sold! I am a little concerned because although I have been in contact with Mayte and sent my pictures, I have not received a quote. And it's been over a month now! Can anyone tell me how long it took to get a quote back from Mayte?
