  1. I checked the previous posts. There were some brides who planned on doing it but no reviews whether it worked or not. It sounds like a good idea though, just to have them delivered to the lobby to your mother or bridesmaid and say it was a gift from them.
  2. So if they wait out in the parking lot then they won't have to pay the fee? I don't want to be screwed over if I try to sneak the flowers in.
  3. Thanks! I will take a look. What a relief that 4 hours isn't $1400.
  4. Really? I was told $350/hour. I haven't dealt with Deisy yet. Does she have the same email as Pilar? Is she quicker to respond to emails?
  5. I really wanted to keep the live music but I didn't want to pay Doremixx for 4 hours ($1400!) I would have loved to have him but couldn't justify paying that much. So I hired an outside dj for $700 for 4 hours and will keep the live music as well. Now this vendor fee of $350 comes up and shocked me. Hopefully I can get away with saying he's a guest & feed him instead of paying that ridiculous amount.
  6. Has anyone inquired about bringing an outside DJ or florist? Pilar just emailed me & she said there would be a $350 fee for each to bring them in! Why so much more than the photographer fee? And I also asked her about fake rose petals for the pergola & she said this is fine, does not have to be freeze-dried petals as was mentioned in a previous post.
  7. ^Thanks. Yes I think she credits you less if you bring an outside photographer, which is what I was asking for. She said she would only credit me $150, otherwise I could use their photographer for a trash the dress or rehearsal dinner. I opted to just keep him since my outside photographer will be leaving half way through the reception. I'll probably instruct their photographer to get more photos of the family & friends during cocktail hour and reception since mine will be focusing on FI and I.
  8. Does anyone how many days before the wedding the planning form should be submitted?
  9. I was also told that it is only a $150 credit if you didn't want to use their photographer
  10. I can't seem to open these SPA_PRICE_LIST_NOW_ENG._NUEVA.pdf NOW JADE 2012 - 2013 WEDDING INFORMATION.pdf
  11. For anyone who was asking about renting out cylinder vases, I got a quote from Floreria Riviera florist. If the resort will do this also pls share because Pilar has not replied to my email. Floreria Riviera charges $8 per vase (and $7 per mirror base if anyone is interested in that), delivery charge is $25.
  12. Just do a google search. Here's the average: http://www.weather2travel.com/november/mexico/riviera-maya/puerto-morelos.php
  13. Exactly what I was thinking. People are waiting for a cheaper flight but the hotel rooms might be fully booked by then. And I'd like for us to be all together on the same dates as well. I hate hassling people as well but it needs to be done. I noticed that too on the reservation calendar, January is filling up! So I better get a move on it & book my trips. You made me feel a lot better. I was starting to think that I was an eager neurotic bridezilla for wanting to book so early when the guests aren't. I'm going to try to remember that I can't please everyone but it's so hard because I want to.
  14. That is what I am being quoted now. And a lot of TA's are telling me that prices will increase so better to book soon. It's definitely a struggle trying to get the whole group to agree on the price. And a lot of them are not used to booking trips so far in advance but do I really want to gamble with my wedding just to save an extra $100? I'd rather book early and get it out of the way than later because it would only add more stress trying to watch the rates fluctuate. Wow that is the best rate I have seen so far! Are you flying out of Canada? Which airline are you going with? Did you have a TA?
  15. That's ok. Hopefully my TA can find us a deal that includes transfers as well. It's such a hassle to worry about this. Thanks for the great & thorough review! I loved the look of the bamboo room with the lighting and everything. How much did you have to pay for centerpieces? Do you know if they rent out just the vases? I was going for the same look but I was just going to bring fake flowers to save some money.
  16. Thank you, I got a few quotes from Alina & Vanessa already. I will try Marvin and see what he quotes me. Have a lot of past brides used him? There aren't a lot of reviews in the vendor reviews sextion for flowers. That's good news! I had no idea that the medallions were included in the divine package. That saves me a ton. Thanks for the FYI!
  17. Do you happen to know what company you are using for the transfer?
  18. That's a good deal. By transfers do you mean transportation from the airport to the resort?
  19. Can I ask how much each of your guests are paying (including tax)?
  20. By the way, is anybody using an outdoor florist? They seem to be much cheaper than the resort prices but I can't find a lot of reviews about them. I remember someone mentioned Flores Riviera Mayan before and I could only find 2 reviews about them. Their flowers look beautiful and reasonably priced. Anyone else find better florists?
  21. Did your TA tell you it was better to wait until spring for better prices? I have asked for quotes from 3 different TA's in my area and they all said that prices for the Mayan don't generally decrease for big groups and that I should book soon to guarantee my rooms are blocked. Not sure if this is all BS because I don't know much about travelling to Mexico.

And I was going to use the flowers on the ceremony table for the cake table or guestbook table. A lot of my guests are thinking that it's too early for deposits but I really want to secure the rooms. It makes me feel better to know that other brides were that early too. I just don't want to wait too long and risk the rooms being fully booked.
  23. Good to know. I hear they are miracle workers and could plan a wedding in one day so I'm trusting in them completely.
  24. Thanks, that's a relief. I didn't want to wait till the end of my trip to get married. Hopefully 2-3 days is enough to plan the wedding with Pilar.
  25. So if my ceremony is on a Friday, is Tuesday evening arrival okay? Or does it have to be three full days prior?
