Anasteele I had the same questions! I originally booked the caprice package but ended up lowering it to the Royal. We are sticking with the semi-private dinner on the Mezzanine of Chillis. The $50 is for EVERYONE at the wedding for the private dinner. So it just wasn't in our budget to do. Yes you will have to pay for the extra chairs/cake for however many over your package you are. so if you have close to 40 I think the Caprice is best for you, because you will have to pay for chairs and private reception anyways. They offer a sectioned off part of the buffet the night before the wedding at no additional cost (I havent heard of any so far atleast!) for the "welcome dinner". Hope that helps!

Ah i have 3 months and I am going crazy! I wish they would just send a list of what people ussually do. How is everyone doing their "reception?" I have the mezzanine reserved at Chilli's at 630. I want it to be fun and I have no idea what to do after dinner! they said the lyrico bar can only be rented until 1100, seems pointless to me if dinner is ending at 830. That is probably the most stressful part about this whole thing is figuring out how to entertain everyone. I see you are posting about songs for the ceremony...do they have an ipod player? How does the music work for that?

Ok, I am so confused! It is so hard to try and plan out details through email! I originally booked the Caprice Package. But now I want a private reception which is 50pp. So I would not need the package anymore right? I can go for the free one and then just pay for whatever I want? What has everyone else been doing?

I just emailed her Saturday, and I emailed Paola who I did my confirmation with and Paola forwarded my information to the new girl as well. Lets see if I hear back! I am 6 months away from my wedding date and have no idea what is going on or any idea of location or time line for the day.

Hi Ladies! I just booked my wedding at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya for June 28, 2013. I am soo confused by the cocktail hour and reception details. I said I wanted the "Caprice" package because that is the best one I saw on the website, but I do not see anything about cocktail hours and more private reception options. Did you all just book it through the hotel wedding planner? Can I still get those for my wedding? Help!- Tara
