  1. How are you all deciding on which venue to hold your reception/get married in? I feel like the photos are lacking. Has anyone visited the resort and decided that way? Also is anyone bringing/shipping their decorations? It seems as though that is encouraged... or are you just resorting to a DR wedding planner? Any help is appreciated, really hoping this isn't a dead thread. Thank you!
  2. Does anybody know how many weddings a day they have? I have heard some conflicting information and I'm trying to avoid feeling like I am in a wedding factory for my special day! Also, I just received their price list, it seems a little high versus some of the other DR resorts... am I overlooking something that the other resorts don't include?
  3. This is all amazing information. After searching for what feels like months we are finally almost settling with Sanctuary Cap Cana... I have a few questions for those that have previously made the trek down there. My fiance and I have a fairly active family with a variety of ages, is this resort appropriate? I know they are new and that's what appeals to us but it doesn't seem they have some 'family' oriented activities such as snorkeling, hobbie cats etc. that the other resorts do. While some of us will use the spa etc, there are a bulk of us that the ability to snorkel just off the shore is extremely appealing. Any insight to this? Also how much of a discount on the room rates did they provide? Just curious, not sure if it makes a difference.
  4. On another note, did everyone book a travel agent to assist with the details or should we just work with the hotel on that one? We are getting mixed feedback on if we should pay a travel agent. Thanks!
  5. The Grace Bay Club looks beautiful! Did all of your guests stay there with you? Any preliminary tips and advice?
  6. Hi everyone! So I am planning a wedding for May of 2013 and love the concept of an all inclusive for myself and my guests. Does anyone have any feedback on the Veranda Resort? I am looking for some insight on the resort itself as well as their facilities to host a wedding. I am a causal bride, looking for a relaxed laid back feel with good food and an understated elegance... any advice? Thanks!
  7. Wedding photography is not about the dress, the location, the decor of the event it's about capturing the emotion of the moment and making that emotion live for years to come. At the end of the day, marriage marks the start of the a lifetime journey together and a great photographer, while expensive, is worth every penny if not more. People become so focused on posing and the superficial aspects of a wedding that the emotion and the purpose is lost. A great photographer, one that has a passion for what they do will put the client at ease and capture the emotion of the unity of these two people. A great photographer is hands down the single most important aspect of a wedding. While the dress gets boxed up, the band packs and leaves and the food and drinks get consumed and forgotten, great photographs will remain and prevail ans the most lasting memory, not only years but generations after the ceremony. If you find someone that loves what they do you will not be disappointed.
  8. Is there a reason why nobody has considered the Veranda in T+C? I am looking to get married in Turks next year (hopefully May 2013, although I realize this is very late to start planning) and love the idea of an all inclusive for guest to be able to relax. At this point I was also planning on having our ceremony and reception at the Veranda as well but have found there are very limited reviews of the resort itself and the wedding. Does anybody have any insight? Ideally I would love guests to be able to stay all in the same resort, although from this thread it seems that may be impossible. Will I still need a wedding planner for an all inclusive resort? Or would you advise me to go somewhere like the Somerset and Seven Stars that seem to be well versed in these types of things? THANK YOU in advance for your help!
