  1. We used the flutter of romance alter and white chairs. That was it. We also did a sand ceremony so that was set up to the side and part of the ceremony. We had custom koozies made for everyone there that were placed on the chairs before the ceremony!! We then used hanging lanterns for the reception
  2. Hey Conniealice27, Excited to hear about your upcoming Sandals RC wedding!! I just got married on Sept 18th and had such a great time!!! I wanted to chime in on your question about the sandals photographer situation...I really would not recommend them. After seeing the work they do (its posted all over the resort, AND I have personally seen them taking picutres of couples). I feel that they hire some random jamaican person to come and take pictures and since I am confident they dont really have alot of experience the pictures are very basic & "posed" if you know what I mean. I feel that you are going to spend quite a bit of money and not be happy with they product. 3rd party vendors are not allowed however if someone is staying at the resort, even a professonal photographer, they are allowed to take pictures. I hired a photographer that came down only for travel costs. I paid for her & a second photog's flight + hotel (b/c sandals 2 person bookings) for 3 nights and it was only $1700. She took pics at rehearsal dinner & beach party, the wedding, and we even did another shoot the day after the wedding and she gave me ALL 1300 pictures she took!! I got lucky b/c she got married at Montego Bay resort and has done a couple weddings there so she knew the lay of the land...You will spend $1800 on pics at sandals and only get like 110 or something. Total rip off,..especially once you see the pics! If you cant find someone to do it or dont want to spend that kind of money i would just have someone in your party take the pictures. You will get just as nice ones as you would with the sandals photographer. I know that is probably not what you want to hear but i always heard it wasnt the best and I literally made the decision last minute to not go with them and Im so happy I did. During my 10day stay there was about 2 or 3 weddings per day and the people that I talked to were also very unhappy with what they got for their money. Just something to think about. Hope this helps :-/
  3. You are able to bring whatever decorations you want!!! If you take you own candles they will allow you to use them, they just dont tell you up front you can do that b/c as they are, its about the money. Once you arrive at the resort and meet with your coordinator its more laid back and they are willing to do what they can to make you happy. We had 35 people there for our wedding so we planned a formal sit down dinner party for the "rehearsal dinner" the night before. They were very accomodating & everything was set up and included for us, due to the size of our party. We got married on the beach (Jillie, check out the beach in the back near the Garden & butler suites- its perfect & seccluded), then we had our reception hour in the garden. It was decorated with hanging lanterns, lights, we had a DJ, an open bar ,and cake table setup. Our guests watched us do the first dance, we cut the cake, did speeches, danced and had a great time!! Very fun...after our hour was all met at Cricketers Pub and finished the nite there. It was a blast!. I also brought my own Swarovski crystal letter "B" cake topper and rhinestone ribbon for the bottom of each tier and they had no problem adding my elements to the cake.
  4. I met with my coordinator on a monday morning, after arriving on saturday afternoon! She will go over everything wth you, have you taste the cake flavors (vanilla, chocolate, or caribbean fruit), walk you around the property to pick your ceremony & reception spot (I got married on the beach and had my reception in the garden) and answer any and all questions for you. She will also be with you the day of the wedding to make sure everything flows!! They are extremely sweet & helpful! good luck
  5. CJCSRC- How was your wedding?? CONGRATS!! I am getting married at Sandals Royal Caribbean on Sept 18th,2012. I am extremely excited but starting to stress about some of the details considering that every little extra thing comes with a big price tag. I was hoping to throw a beach party for all my 30 guests following our rehearsal dinner with a band & bonfire etc but it is going to be almost $2k. Can you tell me how the nightly entertainment was? WouldIi be better off planning a private party or is there plenty of fun & authentic options we could take advantage of for free? I really want to find a way to thank everyone for coming down but hopefully in a cost effective way. We are staying in a Swim up suite for 10nights...im hoping this experience will be amazing!! Thanks for ANY kind words of advice, and hope you had a magical wedding!
  6. Hi, My name is Amanda and I am getting married Sept 18, 2012 at Sandals Royal Caribbean. I have been looking at some of your posts regarding photography (I realize these were posted about a year ago-so im hoping you will see this), but I am curious,...are we allowed to bring our own photographers?? I was under the impression we could NOT use any third party vendors and had to book everything through Sandals? I would love to bring my own down as I would be able to get more photos, pay less money, and trust who is taking the photos. I am concerned about what i will receive from resort photography. Also, did you plan any type of beach party or anything special for your guests? We have 30 people coming down and have been talking with our wedding planner about a beach party after our rehearsal dinner, but just for a fire pit and a band for an hour is $1700?! Seems a little pricey...Looking forward to any advice you can give me or tips to make this wedding experience wonderful!! Thanks!
