About DanniiB48

  1. Hi Claire, We're getting married at the beach gazebo and have a ceremony time of 4pm! What time is your ceremony? Ok, I've worked out the legal side of things as far as we are concerned and as far as our registrars over here are concerned...you will need to take a copy of your long birth certificate, passport and immigration card (which you'll receive on the plane), the General Registrar confirmed with me that there is no legal requirement to have your parents names on the marriage certificate and they do not ijmpose any specifications either...usually, as long as a marriage is legally recognised in the country that it took place in then the UK will also legally recognise it. We have been told we are also not required to translate anything before Mexico so will be taking our documents as they are, however when we are out there we will pay 70usd for our marriage certificate to be apostilled with the Mexican government (with a couple of months wait) and then take the certificate we receive on the day home with us and pay for this to be translated and use to change my name etc immediately...we are going to get TLC to do the translation, its around £110 for two copies of the certificate as opposed to £90 for one copy! Oh and the Registrar do not need a copy of your certificate but you can deposit it with them if you would like so its easier to get copies in the future, once we receive our apostilled version and get that translated we will be doing this! Phew!! We also booked with First Choice, 12 people including FI and I staying for a fortnight...got our tickets at the weekend! Congrats on getting your dress! What style have you gone for? Have my final fitting on Saturday, then it gets boxed up and ready to go! What sort of day have you gone for? We have our ceremony at 4pm, followed by a toast on the beach and photos...then the Portofino...think the guys will get their speeches out of the way before the meal and then we have booked La Laguna afterwards for a 2 hour cocktail reception.
  2. Hi Claire! Firstly congratulations! Sounds like your wedding is going to be amazing with all your ideas! We have exactly 3 weeks until we fly and 4 weeks until the big day! How are you getting on with the legal side of things? What is your understanding of requirements? I had it all worked out and then Graciela emailed confusing me again! We would like to be legally married in Mexico so I have completed some forms with both of our information along with our parents', provided copies of our passports, birth certificates and my name change deed (as this was changed as a child), I also cleared all of this with the General Registrar and the plan is to have the short marriage certificate that we will receive straightaway translated over here whilst waiting for the apostilled version from Mexico to be posted to us. Graciela has now emailed to advise that if we are required to have our parents names on the certificate that we need long birth certificates, divorce certs (not relevant in our case) and my name change deed all legalised and translated but if we do not need our parents names on the marriage certificate none of this is necessary. I am a bit annoyed really as I have been asking for information frequently and this is a 'new requirement' which is almost on top of our departure date. Other than this the co-ordinators have been amazing! Who did you book through? Any advice you could offer would be helpful!
  3. Hi Shannon, Congrats on your marriage! Did you use the spa in the end for make up? If so, what were they like?
  4. Hi Angela, Thanks so much...I have read bits and pieces and asked questions but when everyone is giving you conflicting information it is so frustrating! The beach will be beautiful for the ceremony, in fact everywhere will be! We have 12 including ourselves so not a big party too. I will keep an eye out for you on the day!
  5. Wow! Thanks so so much Angela thats a really big help! I contacted our local registry office and was advised that the certificates could not be deposited but this contradicted everything I had read online so was getting quite worried! Have you been told what will go on Mexico end with the certificate? If they consul send the certificate to the general register office then do you know if we get a copy to take away with us at all for name changes etc? Congratulations on your wedding too by the way and how lovely that we're getting married on the same day, where are you having your ceremony etc? We are having the ceremony at the beach gazebo, followed by dinner at the Portofino and then cocktails at La Laguna.
  6. Hello! We have gone for a very nude champagne colour scheme with cream, bright pink and burnt orange flowers for a pop of colour...decorations wise we have gone very rustic! Purple sounds lovely, what time is your wedding? Can anyone offer any help from the UK with the marriage certificate info? I am freaking out a little bit trying to get my head around it!
  7. Hello Cancunlove14, Where have you managed to get the gazebo corsages from? Our wedding is booked for the 25th February 2013 in Riviera Maya in their beach gazebo so these would be perfect! Our WP hasnt given us any information with regards extra flowers... They are beautiful!
  8. Hello, I hope everyone's planning is going well! Does anyone have any recommendations for photographers? I have contacted Claudia Rodriguez but wondered if there were any others that any brides could recommend?
  9. Hi everyone! Congratulations to all of you! Just wondered if anyone can offer some advice? We are getting married on the 25th February 2013 at 4pm...we would like the beach gazebo. Has anyone married around this date/time as I am getting worried about sunset/photos etc. We are planning on having the two hour cocktail do - where is this usually situated? Then plan to go for our meal in one of the restaurants for our party of 12, for anyone that did this was it still quite private? We wanted to use this time to do the toast, cake and speeches but our men are very nervous about giving speeches in full view/sound wise of a restaurant full! Do they decorate the table at all?

  12. Hi Rachel, Congratulations and I hope your first year or marriage has been amazing! What time did you get married? Our ceremony is booked for the 25th February 2013 at 4pm, more than likely at the beach gazebo and I am slightly worried about photographs and sunset! I also wondered how private you found it having the restaurant sectioned of, there is only 12 of us so we will be doing this but wanted to use that time to do the toast, cake and speeches....did they decorate the table etc at all? Finding it hard to think how the day will flow/look etc! Thanks
  13. Hi Rachel, What time was your wedding? Our wedding is booked for February 25th 2013 at 4pm, I am slightly worried about sunset/photos etc. We wanted this time due to other daytime arrangements such as the two hour cocktail do etc but I didnt even think about sunset! What was it like having the restaurant? We would like to have this as no extra charge and only 12 of us but want to do the toast, cake and speeches and are worried it wont be private enough...do they decorate the table at all? I think we also want the gazebo on the beach for the wedding ceremony! Thanks
