  1. Hi everyone. I am getting married April 6, 2013. I have been working with Nina who has been incredible. We have 25 guests and are doing the tropical wedding. I have added all the extras, violinist, steel drums for cocktail hour, three hour reception with dj, flowers and lights everywhere. We have opted not to do the included rehearsal dinner because everyone has to eat the same food (just like the reception dinner). We are paying extra for open bar, hair and makeup for me and the girls, videographer, photographer, guest bag delivery. Fingers crossed that everything will go well. I spent 3 months planning a wedding at Sancutuary Cap Cana without any attention from the coordinator so we cancelled and moved it to Sandals. I can say that it has been a 1000% improvement. I just checked the thread for that resort and found that one poor bride was just told her wedding was cancelled 3 months before due to overbooking!!! I will try to remember to come back and post our results. Good luck to everyone. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Rachael.Fitzgerald@hotmail.com
  2. Also, it appears you got much higher pricing than they quoted me.I'm happy to forward any communication I received. If you would like.
  3. I gave up and have booked my wedding elsewhere. They still have not followed up with me. I was told that I would have to pick everything out from vendors including dishes. The only thing included in the 6700 package was tables and chairs. After I saw the pictures and realized all the extras I decided it was more work than I wanted for a destination wedding. A wedding coordinator should coordinate and I never got any help or suggestions. Despite contacting the VP of the company. Beware of the room block contract. My fiancee is an attorney and he had to send the contract back four times for revisions ( spelling errors, incorrect pricing, and wrong dates. This resort looks beautiful but they do not have their act together. I hope you havebetter luck. I had to move on after three months and zero progress.
  4. After eight weeks and nothing but incorrect room block pricing, I might give up. Alexandra has yet to send me a contract. I have been waiting over a month. I sent an email to the head of hospitality as well as the CEO on Friday detailing how I am begging to send them business. I haven't. Heard back. I have never seen a company run this way. The pricing is very high for such poor service. I haven't found another place I like as much so I'm very disappointed. Stay tuned.
  5. I have had the worst time getting responses from this resort. I have spoken to the people at the head office in DC multiple times and I am still waiting on paperwork. This appears to be the nicest resort in DR and I want to hang in there, but six weeks (2 to 4 calls and/or e-mails a week) and I still don't have a contract. I have been in touch with Marisol, Brice, and even the head of reservations and revenue for the Salemander resorts. I have been assured that Alexandra is the best, yet I still have not heard from her. Is anyone else having these issues? If there was anywhere else as nice, I would take my business elsewhere. Very unprofessional and I'm starting to take it personally. Help!!!
  6. I have just started the process to get married in April 2013. It has been very difficult to get info. Please let me know your progress, packages, etc. Should have info from Marisol in next day or two.
