  1. I did it for the ceremony only and I basically let everyone know about it in my pre-travel brochures. I am SOOO GLAD I did it! Everyone respected our request and they were fine with it. I also let them know not to post photos they took from the wedding on Facebook or any other social media sites until we released some of our pro photos on there.   People were really good with that as well. They didn't post anything and even after I posted our photos, they asked if it was okay to share some of their photos as well.  I have wonderful friends and family! I was really happy they respected our wishes and I would advise if you are considering it, to let them know of your wishes in advance.

  3. How gorgeous!  Congratulations, Alexis!

  4. Thanks, ladies! This forum was so helpful to me and even though I was not a May bride, I really felt our timelines were similar, especially for you ladies getting married in the next week or so.  I wish all of you guys luck and remember to breath and have fun!  All this pre-planning is worth it!

Yes, I am back! The wedding and honeymoon (we flew over to one of the other Cayman Islands called Cayman Brac) was fantastic.  I don't think I could have dreamed up a more perfect day, for real. Even at our reception on the rooftop of the hotel facing the ocean, we saw a shooting star! Come on, now that has to mean something, right?  hehe  1000

  6. So jealous of all your bachelorette parties!  I wish I had one, but my MOH (who is my cousin) doesn't really know any of my friends and everyone is out of state (they in NYC and Cali) and me in DC.  I just opted not to do it.

I'm an April bride but this forum has by far helped me the most in my planning journey.  Sharing ideas and support and keeping it active!  I leave in the morning for Cayman and I'm so excited that the time is finally here! I'll be back to report on my experience!

it was Trivera, I did order the dress again from where she did. It was Babyonline, I will keep you girls updated!! I'm confident. Worst comes Worst, I already got in contact with the bridal shop and was assured with 11 months left, I have enough time.

I am glad you are opting to get the dress remade by Babyonline.  They do have a good reputation as well, but I have to say, not as good as Jasmine's but I'm biased. wink.gif I understand that if you were to get the dress done by them, you might as well spend the money to get the original dress.  This must be frustrating for you.  I hope you get the results you want from Babyonline.

, but the ruffles are all wrong on this dress, it makes me look shorter and stockier than i am (5ft at 110lbs) no reason I should look like i'm 4"8!!!! I have requested a partial refund from bingbridal, i will let you girls know if that happens. I have ordered the dress from babyonline. If Sunny happens to disappoint me, I will just suck it up and get the original dress which I cried in.

Here is me in the original

Here is the dress bingbridal made. Excuse the mess. The entire reason I went with them was b/c of their actual image of a replica they made based on the Allure 8862. This is no where near close.

Damn! That is horrible! I'm sorry they didn't do a good job at all. I do hope you get some of your money back.  This is why I am so glad I went with Jasmine's. They may cost a bit more but they really did an amazing job on my dress and countless other brides over the years.  The proof is in the photos and the happy brides!

  10. thanks ladies.  I decided to stick with my original plan and skip the programs. I need to stop finding more things to bring with me. I am leaving two weeks from tomorrow and I am afraid I'll forget something so I keep finding little things to buy or do lol  I just did a last minute order for my personalized cake and knife server set. Stop me now! haha

  11. is everyone here doing wedding programs?  I pretty much decided against them but I still have time to change my mind but I gotta do it this week.  Only 26 guests for us and just a MOH and BM make up our wedding party so not sure what else to put on the program. What are you guys doing?

I might do the same thing.  It's rough to lug that thing around and my scuba equipment too? No thanks. Taking it from the states to Cayman will be enough headache for me.  I don't see the point of keeping it either.

I used regular printer paper - printed both sides, and did it from home.  These type of things doesn't need to be fancy.  As much as we don't want to think it ... it will get tossed aside in some homes ... and eventually make it's way to the trash.  Don't get to fancy with this one, that's my opinion!

Your letter is nice! You do have a typo though. On page six, your title for itinerary for the week of May 5, says "2012" instead of "2013"

  15. OMG! You look absolutely AMAZING!! I am soooo happy for you and I am glad your dress worked out!!  So great we kind of went on this whole Jasmine's dress journey together lol  My wedding is in 7 weeks!   Hope your wedding was as amazing as you looked! Congrats cheer2.gif

It did have a bit of a stinky smell to it, almost like vinegar which a bit weird...LOL

    This is how it arrived...

The beading was clearly different and of course the quality of the beads they used but everything was well sewn in.

    It was surprisingly even lined...

The other thing to keep in mind is sizing. I am typically a size 6 but I ordered it an 8 with the intentions of having it altered here because I rather it be too big then too small and it fit like a glove. I am glad I went a size bigger.

This was the original from the designer website....all in all I am very pleased and def would recommend this vendor. For $150 you cant beat it!!

  17. We have a total of 28 people including myself and FI and we have hired a DJ.  We love to dance and also big into music.  I do not want to have to worry about coordinating music and making announcements, etc and the DJ is who is in charge of the flow of the wedding reception. So we have one from dinner onward for 3 hours total.  Alternately, for our ceremony and cocktail hour, we have a steel drum player.

For those brides that purchased dresses from babyonline...did you receive pictures before it shipped? I just went in on them via email, I thought I made it clear that although they could not committ to mid production pictures they were supposed to send me pictures before it shipped.  So worried crybaby2.gif

oh wow!  That's rough.  Well, fingers crossed that when it arrives, it's what you envisioned.  Otherwise, don't they have a satisfaction guaranteed clause or something on DHGate?  I think you'll be fine though.
