Though our honeymoon suite had a gorgeous view, in our opinion the other rooms were just as nice!!! Only difference was that our room was a little bigger, had 2 jacuzzis, and litterally over looked the ocean... that's what you are paying for... the actual ocean view. But we would have been just as happy with a premium room.

Hi Nicole! No, they did not charge me extra for the drappery. I know that it is like an $800(?) option according to the Dreams Wedding brochure but i did not get charged.

Hey! Sorry i did not see this post. When we booked our rooms the rooms were pretty spread out... which i thought was fine because i'm sure not everyone wanted to be on top of eachother during their vacation. The resort is small (but not a bad small) its very personal so you will be able to see your guests all the time and its very easy to find everyone. I had 48 guests. I rented the sound system for the ceremony (sound quality was amazing, i had my ceremony on the beach). I originally was going to rent the sound system for the reception too but last minute decided not to and i am SO happy we spent the extra money on the DJ. He was amazing. He annouced the wedding party, played all the "must hear songs" i gave him, announced cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc.. people were on the dance floor ALL night. He even took song requests. If i could give anyone advice, i would say hire the DJ because i was up in the air about it too but went for it and SO glad i did!

Hey Emily- I just recently posted an "unofficial" review on the review page. My wedding was August 30th and it was PERFECT. This website had helped me a lot when i was planning my wedding. You picked a great resort!

We had booked the Honeymoon suite when we first started planning our wedding but before the final cut off date we changed it to "Ocean View" because I had talked to a lot of ladies who were upgraded upon arrival. We took a risk but i am glad we did because upon arrive they automatically upgraded us to the honeymoon suite & that saved us a lot of money. I think they typically like to do that for wedding parties depending on availbility. Many of my guests also got upgraded upon arrival.

We had the Carribbean buffet at our wedding and people are STILL talking about how good it was. Goood choice ladies!

Hi Elsa! I had my wedding at Dreams in August and my first choice was to have my reception on the Pool Deck... let me just say that i ended up having it in the ballroom the DAY of my wedding because we were affraid it was going to rain (it had been raining off and on the whole day)... it ended up not raining but having our reception in the ballroom was the BEST decision ever!! We had seen some other receptions that were on the pool deck and it was not very private...it was WINDY... humid and TONS of bugs. We got to eat & dance in comfort of AC and privacy the whole reception. I was SO upset about the choice at first but seriously the ball room is where its at and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Hi Ladies! I had my wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun and it was AMAZING!! All of my guests (48ppl) said it was the BEST wedding they had ever been to. This thread helped me SO much when I was planning my wedding so I wanted to put it out there that if anyone had any questions please feel free to contact me on here or you can email me @ xshellbee@gmail.com. My wedding cooridinator was Lorena and she was AMAZING. I had a lot of trouble getting a hold of her up until the couple of weeks before the wedding... but just know, you are TOP priority when you are there for your wedding and they will make sure your wedding is perfect. This resort gets and A++!!!!! ALL of my guests felt like VIP the whole week we were there. DJ: As i was planning my wedding, i did not seen any reviews on here about the in house DJ (Cesar Mauricio Neri Salazar from Visual Sound) so i was going to put together a playlist on my Ipod and rent the sound system....litterally a week before i was leaving for our wedding we decided we were going to chance it and get the DJ.... SO GLAD WE DID IT! HE WAS AMAZING. A DJ either makes or breaks your reception.... he MADE it!! the dance floor was filled ALL NIGHT and he played great music and even took requests. I seriously can not say enough good things about this guy. He played everything from Frank Sinatra to Rihanna to Kenny Chesney. Yes, he was a little pricey, but ladies do yourself a favor and spend the money because you and your guests will LOVE him. PHOTOGRAPHY: The team of photographers from Adventure Photos (the in house photographers) we also AMAZING. Anel was my main contact and she was so easy to work with and really knew her stuff! We got in the ocean and in the pool in my chiffon wedding dress... i let it dry in my room and you would never even know i got in the water or rolled in the sand with it on. Looks as good as new. Again, my wedding was perfect so I would love to answer any specific questions/concerns any of you might have about your wedding/reception/resort/service/accomidations/party favors/etc.... i was in the same boat as you once and this thread helped me so much!

SO EXCITED i leave Saturday morning for DRC!!! My wedding is not til the 30th but i Must admit i am kind of nervous because i have not heard from Lorena or the Dj since around the 12th and hearing that he pool deck is under construction on here just about gave me a heart attack!!!!!! Looks like i will be seeing a lot of you ladies down there!!
