Thanks your feedback would be great!

    Hi Kingz85!

The DJ was from Lomas Travel - they were fantastic! The DJ actually brought the glow sticks and balloons. We brought the paper lanterns which we purchased at www.paperlanternstore.com

    Good luck!!

  2. Congrats!!!! Have a wonderful trip!!

Hi Ladies, We are leaving tomorrow and getting married on Thursday.  Without the help of this forum I would not be nearly as organized and calm as I am right now.  We are watching tv and drinking wine! I can't wait to get to the resort tomorrow.  I will be sure to let you all know how it goes and give any advice that I think may be helpful.
  3. The wedding coordinator told me the round tables are 5ft across at plaza zavas.

I just found out tableclothsfactory.com is having a 20% site wide sale on their already super cheap table clothes, chair sashes, etc. I have been procrastinating with table runners, etc and now I'm all "oh i have to order today!" haha SOOO... does anyone know what the measurements are of the round tables that they have at the plaza zavaz for a private reception? Also, I am planning on having a table for the cake, a table for guest book, etc. Does anyone know the sizes of those tables? OH- and the table at the end of the aisle for the ceremony...? ANY input would be great! I'd like to check this off my list but I don't want to under order. Thanks, girls!

I leave a week from Saturday! The time flew by! Lots of packing to do this weekend!!! Thanks for the advice and tips!

Anyone that booked their DJ and photographer a room there to avoid the vendor fees, does it matter what day they check into the hotel as a guest?

    Thanks!!

    Hi Gina P!!

I will be there March 23rd as well! We are going March 23-30th, getting married on the 26th. See you at the swim up bar!

  5. Hi ladies! Do you know where the Terrace Zavas is on the map of the resort? We are putting together our welcome bags for our guests and wanted to include a map of locations. We are having our reception at Plaza Zavas and wanted to put that and Terrace Zavas (our cocktail location) on the map for people. Thanks! Link to map included below!

I am so happy with how our wedding is coming along at home but my heart breaks a little when I think about not having my feet in the sand on my wedding day. It is for the best though... My mom was dignosed with lung cancer two months ago and we thought it would be easier for her if we just had it at home. We will just have to have an amazing honeymoon to make up for it :) anyways since before I even got engaged I loved looking at everyone's wedding dress on here and couldn't wait to post mine when I finally got engaged and found my dress. I figured I would still post it on here. :) 400

Love this dress!!! You look fantastic in in :)

  7. Hi Ladies,

Just thought I'd share our save the date for our wedding. It was SUPER easy to do, we just had a camera which took pictures 2x per second (my poor sis-in law had to hold the button down for us the whole time!), then uploaded it to windows movie maker to create a stop motion movie and edited out the pictures in between our costume changes, etc. We had SO much fun doing it, and got an amazing response from our guests. I wish we would have already decided on the Azul Sensatori at the time we made it, but it was just as effective without the location! Total costs for our save the date - $0!!

    Hi Ladies,

I am getting married at the Azul Sensatori resort this February 16th! I cannot wait!! We are finalizing all the last minute details like goodie bags for guests, wedding weekend itinerary, etc.

For those still planning-- any idea on where to find a wedding itinerary template?

Fort those who had their wedding at the Sensatori-- any last minute things I should know? We are having a sand ceremony on the Sky Deck. I do not really know much about the sand ceremony, but it was included in our package so I do not think I need to bring anything extra for that.

Thanks for any advice you have!

    Hi Kate!

Congrats on your weddings - its so close!!! I am just wondering if you are using the live webcam for your ceremony on the sky deck, and whether you'd be able to provide feedback afterwards as to whether anyone had problems with it? We are getting married on the sky deck on March 26th, 2013 and we are hesitant in sending out the webcam link to those who can't attend because we have heard stories in the past about it not working or people not being able to get it to work. Thanks!!

  9. Agreed JennyBenz!! We had a number of close friends and family tell us they were coming, but then their situations changed (money, pregnancy, health, etc) and they have since RSVP'd and said they couldnt make it. We also had other people who we never expected to attend who have booked, so it has a way of working itself out!

Our rule has become that we assume someone isn't coming until they tell us they have booked their trip. It may seem a little pessimistic, but it makes it a lot easier to just be excited when someone books and less disappointed when someone tells you they can't come.

I'd go with the bride above regarding the semi-private event & DJ/cigar roller.

We are having the cigar roller & DJ, but our whole day will be private. I'm sure you can get an answer quickly with your WC, once they reach out to you.

Oh girl I hear you! You feel so accomplished and then there will be a lull that you feel there isn't much left to do, then it'll hit you towards the end that oyu have so much more to do!

I'm going through that right now, we have so much to order & finalize, but we're anxisouly awaiting our RSVP's! They're due in almost a week and still waiting on almost 75 people!

But I'm sure it'll work out and I can get ordering- I'm so excited to get everything here and ready for the big day!

One piece of advice I can give to you that's very important to remember [i'm sure many brides on here will agree]: Do not say you "know for sure" who is or isn't coming. There will be many surprises along the way, so don't adhere to a specific number. Be prepared to be let down, it happens to us all. For me, it was my closest childhood friend & some immediate family members that said they would be there 100% and then the RSVP came saying they could not attend. Just remember that as much as everyone wishes they could be there, some will not be able to attend.

Feel free to ask any other questions =)

As for the price of the bonfire, I am looking for the link and when I find it I will post it. I think it is something specific to the Sensatori.

Personally I would do off-white shirts for the guys. A stark white shirt may make your dress seem muted. I don't necessarily think it will look bad, but you might wonder why they seem to be brighter in photos than you?

Hi Murmel - I LOVE the lanterns in your pics. Where did you buy them? I have seen lanterns online at www.paperlanternstore.com however this shipping prices to Canada are insane if you are just ordering a few to see how they look. What sizes did you opt for? I really like the staggered sizes together like what you did. Thanks again!

  11. That dress looks amazing on you!! It really suits you!

  12. I'm so sorry for your loss, it must be so tough to have such a happy event associated with such a tragic one. You have a few options depending on what you feel comfortable with. You could always do your memorial at sunrise/sunset and then choose however you preferred to honor your mom at the ceremony. I know a family member who lost their mother added a locket to her bouquet so that her mother would be with her on her wedding day. I've also heard of people dedicating part of a slideshow at the reception to those who couldn't be there. Ultimately its your day, so honour your mother however you want to, and don't worry too much about what others will think!
