  1. Hi ladies! Here are some pictures from my wedding! I will post my photographer's pictures as soon as they're ready.. but here are few! Again, if you have any questions, feel free to ask! This board helped me out TREMENDOUSLY! Happy Planning! Vanessa
  2. Hi ladies! I just got back from my Jellyfish wedding! It was INCREDIBLE. You are in for quite a treat! Here's my review: JELLYFISH REVIEW VANESSA + KYLE 8.10.13 TASTING / MEETING WITH MAYTE: She’s AMAZING! Ladies, you are in GOOD hands! Put your faith in her and you will get so much in return. My fiancé met with her 2 days to our wedding. I know that sounds a bit nerve wrecking, but again you have nothing to worry about. She has all of the details of your wedding! You’re in for quite a treat! We had a tasting of our appetizers, menu, and cocktail drinks. The food and drinks were beyond delicious! So good! She will bring out so many options and is so thoughtful with the choices. In terms of appetizers, we went with the butterfly bacon shrimp and hot pockets. We went with Menu #1 for our dinner option. She discussed final details of the wedding and her vision for the day. I let her run with it… and boy I’m glad I did! Our colors were Coral and Grey… my Pinterest board came to LIFE! Everything came together BEAUTIFULLY! In terms of payment, we transferred a portion of it prior to our arrival and paid the rest in cash. I know that can be uncomfortable, but it worked out fine. We were happy to disperse the cash during our meeting. Haha! WEDDING DAY: My guests and I stayed at Majestic Elegance. Transportation arrived on time and we arrived to the Jellyfish in about 20 minutes or so with our immediate family / bridal party. We had some time to take some final pictures before the ceremony / guests arriving. Mayte has everything under control! Once you get there… relax and enjoy the moment. She will let you know when you will need to ‘hide’ and will cue you / bridal party to walk down the aisle. We also had Pastor Mark officiate our marriage. He is so nice and did an incredible job! You will feel comfortable with him! He will even have a ‘fake’ certificate for you to sign. The ceremony itself was about 20-30 minutes long. Jellyfish DJ / MC were AWESOME! I met with the MC immediately after the ceremony to discuss wedding party introductions, the flow of the wedding, etc… He will double-check everything with you! Everything went incredibly smoothly. We had a cocktail drink option, dinner drinks and open bar for 3 hours of the wedding. Being Dominican, we went with the local options for our drinks. Our guests loved it! We flew down our photographer (MNC Photography – he’s incredible, check him out!) We couldn’t be more than happy with that decision. We also used Punta Cana Corres Film as our videographer. I will share those pictures / video as soon as I have it! We had 66 guests attend our wedding and reserved the bottom section of the Jellyfish. We had a dance floor outside. and it was a BEAUTIFUL night to dance! Couldn’t have asked for better weather in August! J My family is from the Dominican Republic and it wouldn’t be a Dominican wedding without a Crazy Hour! We did the Crazy Hour show and our guests LOVED it! It brought so much energy to the party. There were show dancers, break-style dancers and the fire show. SO MUCH FUN. LOVED IT! We had one bus take guests home around 10:30 or so and the rest of us left around midnight. We had the most amazing time! We received so many compliments from our guests that it was the best wedding they ever went to. 3. @RSKI - I'm not sure if that's an automatic message or not...but if it's helpful, I have booked 8/10/13. I hope your dates are still open! Happy planning!
  4. @li282 - First and foremost.. CONGRATS on your recent nuptials! I have a few questions, I was hoping you could help me with! > I'm anticipating 75 guests or so... did you reserve the entire restaurant or the bottom half? > What time did you have your ceremony? I'm thinking of timing ... and I def. want to make sure I get photo with regular sunlight and sunset. Thanks so much! Congrats again! Vanessa
  5. Hey ladies! Past Brides (or current) - can any of you post your wedding day itinerary? Figuring out some details... and it would be helpful to see what you've done! Thanks so much! Appreciate it! Vanessa
  6. Cnd29 - THANK YOU for all your comments! SO helpful! Very appreciative!
  7. Cnd29 - THANK YOU so much for answering my questions! Very helpful! re: #2 -We plan on getting there a few days before the wedding.. so we will definitely meet with Mayte prior to the wedding. re: #3 - We are also staying at Dreams Palm Beach ... but I'm anticipating 60+ guests... not sure that I will be able to have a rehearsal dinner that will comfortably accommodate all guests outside of the bridal party. re: #4 - Eeek! That might be problematic since I'm anticipating 60+ guests, I'll discuss that with her and get that figured out. Thanks for mentioning that to me! Thanks! Vanessa
  8. Cnd29 - I have a few questions - I was hoping you all could help me out with! How did you pay for the wedding (bring cash on site; wire it down)? I won't be able to visit JF before my wedding - so those of you have who have gotten married there.... were you able to see a preview of the table decor? Like most of you, I know exactly what I want.. and I want to make sure Mayte captures it. Did you give her items that you're bringing for the wedding during that visit? Did you have a rehearsal dinner? If not- did it go smoothly the day of the wedding? How many people can fit on the bus? Did you have any concerns about your guests getting on the bus on time? That's my only concern. THANKS IN ADVANCE! I would appreciate your thoughts very much! Vanessa
  9. Hey Fabiola - I decided to switch venues and get married at the Jellyfish. After reading 100+ pages about the place....it seems too amazing to pass up! Happy Planning! Vanessa
  10. Hey fellow JF Brides! After reading 100+ pages, I decided to change my wedding/reception to the Jellyfish. Woo-hoo! I have a few questions - I was hoping you all could help me out with! How did you get quoted for the wedding? Did you send a document of what you wanted to receive a quote? How did you send your deposit? How did you pay for the wedding (bring cash on site; wire it down)? Does anyone have the latest pricing? The PDF I received from Mayte seems to be dated (based on the some of the comments in this thread). THANKS in advance for all of your help! Cheers to your upcoming nuptials! Vanessa V+ K - 8.10.13
  11. I'm a DPB bride! I will be getting married there 8/10/13. I'm starting to have second thoughts and moving things to the Jellyfish ... BUT from the photographs I've seen at DPB..it looks just as beautiful. My colors are coral / burlap with accents of gold and turquoise. I'm soo excited to get married there! re: Cocktail Hour - I was told that the price include alcohol /apps. re: Dinner - I was also told the the price includes alcohol and food Please let me know if you hear otherwise... I might need to double confirm! Can't wait! Happy Planning to all!
  12. Hey! I'm considering PPR for my Nov / Dec 2013 wedding! It's between PPR and Dreams Palm Beach. Erica - how much in advance did you book your data? I have a date set in mind... and I'm itching to get it booked. Vanessa
  13. I'm a 2013 bride as well! Happy to see that there are so many of us! I'm planning on getting married in Punta Cana around Nov/Dec of 2013. I'm deciding between Dreams PB and Paradisus Palma Real for the venue... I'm leaning towards PPR. I'll be a happy camper with either one. Anyone know anything about Karina Jensen (photographer)? I absolutely ***** Nova..but she's a wee-bit out of my price range. Happy Planning!
